A man convicted of more than 40 child sex offences has been jailed for eight years.

Jon Gordon, 43, was arrested after officers from the Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT) carried out a warrant at his address in Gershwin Boulevard, Witham, in December 2018.

It followed information that he had been engaging in sexual communications with someone he believed was a 13 year-old child.

He was arrested and 33 items were seized. On five of those, officers found more than 1,200 indecent images and videos of child abuse.

They also found a total of 6,500 conversations on Skype with 900 contacts of young people. Among these, officers found evidence he had communicated with boys and girls under the age of 18.

He was charged with 45 child sexual offence offences including sexual communications with a child, inciting a child to perform sexual acts, and indecent images of children offences.

He admitted the offences at Chelmsford Crown Court on February 24 and at the same court on April 13 he was sentenced to a total of eight years in prison.

Detective Sergeant Samantha Lewin, from POLIT, said: Jon Gordon is a dangerous sexual predator who sought out and preyed upon underage boys and girls for his own sexual gratification.

He had a huge library of child abuse images and videos and the sheer number of charges he admitted to highlights the scale of his offending.

I have no doubt Essex is a safer place now he is behind bars.

A 41-year-old man described as a fantasist and a monster has been found guilty of the murder of the schoolboy Rikki Neave, who was found strangled in woods near Peterborough nearly 28 years ago.

James Watson, of no fixed abode, was convicted by a jurys majority verdict at the Old Bailey in London of the 1994 murder after a DNA breakthrough in 2016 revealed that, as a 13-year-old, he had been in physical contact with the six-year-old boy on the day of his disappearance.

Watson, who has a long list of previous convictions including sexual assault evaded detection for more than two decades, changing his account of his interactions with Neave as evidence piled up against him.

The conviction brings to a close a cold case mystery in which Rikkis own mother, Ruth Neave, was acquitted of his murder in 1996, removing suspicion that had haunted her since she pleaded guilty to a litany of shocking child cruelty offences against the boy, of which the jury in her murder trial were unaware.

Speaking after the verdict, Neave described Watson as a monster and criticised the original investigation, saying police and social services totally ruined mine and my daughters lives.

She said: The only thing now is to close this chapter in my life and open a new one. I wonder what Rikki would be like today. Married, children, who knows? But this monster has taken that all from me and my daughters.

Rikkis sister Rochelle Neave, 30, hailed the verdict as a victory for the family who had campaigned for justice. He thought hed got away with it for that many years and thought we were just going to go away and roll under the table. We werent.

She remembered her brother as a cheeky and loving boy who would look after his sisters. Sheradyn Neave, the youngest of the siblings, who was a baby when Rikki died, added: I think we were let down by the police at the time, we were let down by social services, we were let down by everyone who was in our lives who was meant to care.

The jury deliberated for 36 hours and 31 minutes to convict Watson by a majority of 10 to two after an 11-week trial.

The judge, Mrs Justice McGowan, said Watson would be sentenced as if he were a teenager. That means he will receive a life sentence but the starting point for the minimum term will be 12 years. The defendant was not in court on Thursday but watched verdict on a video link.

The prosecution said he lured Rikki to woods near his home in Peterborough on 28 November 1994 and strangled him from behind with a ligature or anorak collar to fulfil a morbid fantasy he had told his mother about three days before.

He stripped Rikki and posed his naked body in a star shape for sexual gratification, deliberately exhibiting him near a childrens woodland den, jurors were told. Rikki was reported missing that evening by his mother and found the next day.

Watson obsessed over newspaper coverage of the killing, photocopying front-page stories at school. The next month he was interviewed as a witness by police after a person reported seeing him with Rikki on the nearby Welland estate. His lies went unchallenged as police wrongly focused on a theory that Neave killed her son and used a buggy to dump his body.

The mother of four was cleared of murder in 1996 but jailed for seven years after admitting child cruelty. The case was unsolved for more than 20 years until Watsons DNA was identified on Rikkis clothes, which had been recovered from a wheelie bin.

In a police interview in 2016, Watson attempted to explain the DNA presence by claiming he picked Rikki up to look at diggers through a hole in a fence. The prosecutor, John Price QC, said that was his really big mistake as police were able to prove the fence was not there in 1994.

After the verdict, the former assistant chief constable Paul Fullwood, who led the cold case, called Watson a fantasist, a dangerous individual, and a compulsive liar. He said: All the way through this, its been a monumental series of challenges. But, as far as were concerned, weve got the right person responsible for the dreadful, dreadful murder of that little boy Rikki Neave.

Hopefully we can bring some justice for his family and also make sure that we put a dangerous individual in prison.

Sentencing will take place on 9 May at the same court.

A MAN has been jailed for 10 years after sexually abusing two children and possessing more than 2,000 indecent images of children. William Smith, 69, formerly of Oak Close in Tidworth, but now in prison for previous offences, was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court on April 19. He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child under the age of 13, three counts of making indecent images of children (316 graded as Category A, 693 graded as Category B and 1,473 graded as Category C) and one count of being in possession of 79 prohibited images of children. The 69-year-old was also given a sexual harm prevention order and will also be required to register as a sex offender. Smith was initially investigated by another police force due after communications were found where Smith was openly discussing the sexual abuse of children. He believed he was speaking to another sex offender, but it was actually an undercover police operative. Smith was subsequently arrested when he travelled to meet this contact with the intention of committing further sexual offences. He was later jailed for those offences. Following this arrest, Wiltshire Police were informed of potential offences committed in this county, including the fact that Smith had revealed details of children he had abused in Wiltshire. Officers executed a warrant at his home address in Tidworth and seized devices for further evidence. They also made contact with the families of the children they believed he had abused. Police say the found more than 2,000 indecent images of children that had been downloaded by Smith. Detective Constable Justine Parsons, from Wiltshire Polices Child Internet Exploitation Team, said: When Smiths mobile phones were examined, we uncovered more than 2,000 indecent images of children which he had downloaded, including 316 which were categorised as depicting the most serious abuse of children. Our enquiries also led us to two people, one of whom is still a child, who were sexually abused by Smith and they very bravely told us what had happened to them, re-living some very traumatic and upsetting experiences they had been subjected to. I want to pay tribute to these two victims and their families. We know how incredibly hard it is for people to speak out about sexual abuse, particularly when this is something which has happened to them as young children, and I applaud their bravery and resilience during such a difficult time.

A man who blackmailed a girl after he groomed her into sending him naked selfies during an abuse ordeal has been jailed. Retired tool maker Barry Doyle, 71, warned the vulnerable child he would share the pictures with others unless she submitted to further sexual demands - telling her: ''You have to behave.''

Doyle, from Stretford, had become obsessed with the girl and would take her out on trips in his car without her parents knowing. He also took her on shopping errands to the Trafford Centre, a court heard.

Greater Manchester Police arrested Doyle after discovering he had given her six mobile phones and on occasions used them to film himself molesting her. Officers seized a sex doll from his property plus a bag containing pairs of young girl's underwear.

It emerged he had a previous conviction from 1981 for indecent assault after he gave another girl money to strip before he attacked her. His latest victim was said to be 'extremely reluctant' to disclose details of her ordeal and was left suffering from severe bouts of embarrassment and anxiety.

At Minshull Street Crown Court, Doyle admitted 14 charges including sexual assault; inciting a child to engage in sexual activity; child abduction; and making and possessing indecent images. Following his release from jail, he will be on licence until 2032 under the terms of an extended sentence after the judge branded him a 'dangerous offender'.

David Bentley, prosecuting, said: ''He engaged in grooming behaviour towards her. He gave her mobile phones to entice her into having communications with him and he controlled her behaviour.

"She was given six phones and he would send messages some of which were affectionate and loving, such as addressing her as 'babe'. He said he loved her and he asked what colour knickers she wore.

''Her use of the phones was not unconditional. If the defendant suggested doing something to which she didn't acquiesce he would inform her that she had to return the phone to him. Arrangements would be made for her to return the phone back to him but he would then give it back to her and this happened on many occasions.''

The offences emerged after one of the victim's friends told her parents she was frequently being driven around in Doyle's car. The victim's father then saw his daughter in the car with Doyle and challenged him about what he was doing.

She was said to be anxious and crying and police were informed. It emerged Doyle would often call the girl to pick her up in his car and once collected her from school. Three pairs of girls' knickers were found in his vehicle.

Officers later seized various phones and inquiries found Doyle had told the girl to repeatedly pose naked for him during online chats.

Mr Bentley added: ''She said she sent pictures of herself to him at his instigation and she said she replied to him about 20 times. Specific naked poses were found on four devices. She said she was doing these poses for the defendant.

''She also disclosed that he threatened to show the pictures to others if she didn't behave. She suffered embarrassment and anxiety and what happened caused to her lose concentration during lessons at school although she has improved since his arrest.''

Doyle later denied wrongdoing in police interview and falsely tried to claim some of the images were of the sex doll.

In mitigation, defence counsel David Toal said: ''He will never involve himself in this kind of behaviour again. He recognises what he has done.''

Doyle was also made subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was ordered to sign the Sex Offender Register. He was banned from contacting the girl under the terms of a restraining order.

Jailing Doyle for jailed for seven and a half years, Judge Tina Landale told him: ''You took advantage of social ties to exploit a vulnerable girl and took multiple opportunities to be alone with her. You groomed her and you got what you wanted from her using gifts or with punishment by taking those gifts back.

''What you wanted was sexual contact and sexual pictures and movies of her. You took her out in your car... and repeatedly caused her to pose naked for photos.

''You used those photographs to blackmail her in addition to using these images for your own depraved enjoyment. If she didn't behave as you wanted, you threatened to show the pictures to others.

''A report says you pose a high risk of causing serious harm to children and I have reached the conclusion you are a dangerous offender. You committed these offences persistently and there is a pattern of sexual offending spanning several months.

''You have a clearly developed sexual interest in children - you have little genuine empathy, regret or insight into what you did.''

An amphetamine addicted predator has been sentenced to 23 years in prison having been found guilty of drugging and raping three men. The third offence occurred in East Sussex in April 2021.

In his third offence, Nico Baxter, 39, approached a homeless man sleeping on a bench before inviting him back to his flat under the pretext of drinking coffee. They both "spoke about being gay" before taking amphetamines, which Baxter injected into him, the court heard.

They engaged in foreplay, but the man said there was to be no penetration due to Baxter's HIV status - Baxter proceeded to rape the man. In a statement, he said Baxter had ruined his life in one day.

The first two offences took place in Manchester and Stockport respectively, where Baxter had lived before relocating to Sussex, and also involved drug use. In the first instance Baxter, of East Sussex, encountered a man in the streets of Manchester on December 16, 2019.

The pair went back to his house, where he contacted his drug dealer to get crack cocaine, which they took together. Baxter then left, before returning with another woman before more drugs were taken, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.

The victim then went to bed, before he woke up with Baxter on top of him. "He could feel a pain, his boxer shorts were pulled off, he couldnt move and he was powerless to resist and froze lying there whilst he was being raped - the defendant left the room and went downstairs whilst the victim lay in bed afraid," prosecutor Amanda Johnson said.

Baxter later went back upstairs and raped the man again, while he lay 'immobile, frozen and powerless'. Hours later, the victim, who had struggled with drug use and was mourning the loss of a loved one, went downstairs.

Baxter told him: "Let me look after you." The victim took an overdose and was in hospital for a few days before he was able to report the incident to police, the court heard.

Giving evidence at trial, he said he has since wanted to move house and said the incident 'undermined his pride and dignity as a man'. The next incident happened in April 2020, when Baxter met an alcoholic man who was waiting for a friend in Stockport town centre when he saw Baxter and asked if he had seen his friend.

"The defendant said his friend was at his house, which was a blatant lie designed to lure the victim back to his flat," the prosecutor said. "He gave him a small white tablet and the man asked where his friend was, at which the defendant pretended to call him.

"He asked if he was gay, and he said he was not and had a girlfriend. He was drinking cider, before the defendant approached him with a syringe and squirted the contents into his mouth."

He fell unconscious before waking up on a mattress with no recollection of how he got there. He then realised Baxter was raping him - it happened again after he awoke, with the man saying he felt "powerless".

The victim left, before calling police in a "terrible state", describing feeling "belittled and disgusted" by what had happened. In a statement, he said he felt "duped" by Baxter, and said he was vulnerable and had low self-worth and dignity and feels uncomfortable and scared around other men.

The court heard Baxter has 37 previous convictions for 84 offences, none of which were sexual in nature. Mitigating, barrister Beverley Cherrill said there was intervention needed to "reduce the risk of taking drugs with others".

Sentencing, Judge Bernadette Baxter said: "You have no remorse for what you have done and maintained that it was consensual and you have shown no insight into what you have done to them. These offences demonstrate that you are a predatory sex offender with an addiction to amphetamine.

"This addiction exacerbates any sexual preoccupations - you were always on the lookout for a sexual opportunity and were able to identify vulnerable individuals who were unable to fight you off. You pre-planned and had little or no internal control over your sexual impulses.

"At the time of the commission of these offences, although he was HIV positive, it was undetectable," she said. "One can completely understand why the victims had concerns."

Baxter was found guilty of seven offences of rape by a jury following a trial in February. He was jailed for 23 years with an extended licence period of two years; and ordered to sign the sex offender register indefinitely - he will serve two thirds of his custodial sentence before being considered for release.

"I find you to be a dangerous offender under the sentencing provisions, and that you present a significant risk of serious harm to members of the public," said the judge.

A convicted paedophile is back behind bars after he was caught engaging in online chats about child abuse weeks after his release from jail. Brett Harriss, 28, had been locked up for 27 months after he ignored a court order and used an Xbox to trawl the internet for child pornography.

After serving a year of his sentence, the former McDonald's worker moved into a hostel. But just three months later, he was found in the illegal possession of a phone and tablet whilst he used to secretly communicate with other paedophiles.

It emerged he had used the devices to download more squalid material over a period of six weeks and to communicate on forums with what he called 'like minded individuals' via the encrypted social media app Telegram.

At Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, Harriss, from Bredbury, Stockport, who appeared via video link from Berwyn jail in Wrexham, North Wales, was sent back to jail for another 30 months after he admitted five charges of breaching the terms of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and making an indecent image of a child.

He admitted a sexual attraction towards children but blamed his behaviour on him being 'entirely isolated' due to being disowned by his adoptive parents. Harriss had originally been locked up in 2017 for 32 months and was barred from using the internet after he distributed child pornography to other online predators.

He was released in 2019 but he was arrested again that December after he secretly acquired the games console to go online and trawl for more squalid images of youngsters - some aged as young as two.

Police carrying out a routine check on Harriss discovered he had stored a library of 981 sick images on an iPad and filed them in folders labelled 'rape', 'younger', 'dad and daughter' and 'sibling'.

The latest offences were discovered last year when Harriss was released in January 2021 and he moved into a hostel. Police had already carried out a series of routine inspections in which he insisted he had no electronic devices to use the internet.

But the truth emerged on April 29 last year when officers searched his room during an unannounced visit. Prosecutor Miss Sophie Kenny said: ''He produced a Huawei tablet device and when asked if he had any other devices produced an internet enabled Alcatel mobile phone.

''He told officers there were Japanese style cartoons of child sex abuse and other indecent images on the tablet. He said he had been using the Telegram app to speak to what he called 'like minded individuals' who would forward him onto forums where he could discuss child sex abuse.

''Both items were seized and sent for investigation. The tablet was found to have Google auto fill records with entries including 'club paedo', 'prison bus paedo' and 'extreme pead' which had been searched over the previous two months.

''Two images were also found which were judged to be a female aged between nine and 12 and the tablet was found to have a cloud storage account and an encrypted SD card was recovered.

''Harriss was interviewed and made full admissions saying the pictures had been downloaded using the Telegram app and said he was sexually attracted to children. These were very deliberate and serious breaches of the Sexual Harm Prevention Order. There was an obvious persistence in his behaviour.''

In mitigation, defence barrister, Miss Kay Driver, said her client had previously enrolled on a 'Horizon' programme for convicted sex offenders but said it was 'not effective'.

She added: ''He is motivated to address his offending behaviour and to lead a lawful life - he does not want to be in the position he finds himself in now. He was fostered at a very young age, his biological father having died in 1995. His mother died when he was 19.

''Since the 2017 offences both his adoptive parents have disowned him and he is found himself entirely isolated. He has resorted to his offending behaviour online to look for company. He wants out of that situation.''

Sentencing, the judge Mr Recorder Ciaran Rankin told Harriss: "Your rather disrupted youth and background give you no excuse whatsoever for the behaviour you undertook. You have described yourself as an idiot but much stronger words to describe you could be employed. This is repeat offending.''

Harriss will also be made subject to a new Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will sign the Sex Offender Register for an indefinite period. He can only use an electronic device to access the internet if it has 'risk management software' installed and managed by police.

A vile pervert has been caged for grooming and sexually abusing a young girl.

Adrian Browers, 49, was branded a high-risk paedophile when he appeared at court.

The horrifying offences date back five years, with the terrified child telling her parents what had happened and police launched an investigation, Devon Live reports.

The case, however, was dropped and no further action was taken against Browers, from Exeter, until he let slip what he had done to a probation officer.

The case was reopened and Browers was convicted after admitting to four sexual offences against the child.

The defendant, who was living in Taunton at the time but later moved to Exeter, has been caged for four years and nine months by a judge at Taunton Crown Court.

He poses a high risk to children and a further two years was added as part of an extended sentence.

Prosecutor Mr Ian Fenny said the offences happened back in 2017. Browers hugged and touched the girl sexually and also incited her to engage in sexual behaviour. The abuse happened on at least three occasions, the court heard.

Mr Fenny said there was obvious planning and evidence of grooming the child. He was arrested in 2018 but not prosecuted.

In August 2020 Browers was found with images of child abuse on his computer and given a community order. Searches made by Browers on his device showed he had a clear sexual interest in young girls.

As part of the court order he was assigned a probation officer and police offender manager to keep tabs on his behaviour. During the course of a meeting with them he admitted sexual contact with a child and the case reopened. When the case came to court he made a failed attempt to exclude his confession from evidence.

Mr Harry Ahuja, defending, said Browers was very sorry for what he had done. He had not committed any further offences and had been doing well on a Sexual Harm Prevention Order made in 2020.

He said justice would be better served with Browers completing a sex offender programme and the judge could suspend the sentence to allow that.

Judge James Townsend said delays in the case were the fault of the defendant for not owning up to what he had done at an earlier stage.

"This was an appalling series of attacks on a vulnerable nine-year-old girl," said the judge. "You abused her on a number of occasions and it must have taken courage for her to disclose what happened to her.

"The effect of the attacks have been very substantial. It has been made all the worse because the case has dragged on for a long time. One can only hope she can move on and recover."

"You plainly demonstrate a sexual interest in young girls and you are prepared to act upon those urges. You plainly represent a risk to young girls. You represent a continuing risk and a determinant sentence would not address that adequately because of the unpredictable nature of that risk."

Browers, of Heavitree Road, Exeter, must serve at least two thirds of his four years and nine month term in prison before he is considered for release. He must serve the remainder of his extended sentence on licence.

The defendant was told to sign the sex offender register and made subject of a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

A rapist who strangled a woman and kept her prisoner has been handed an 18-year extended sentence.

Lee Jones, who is from Leeds, attacked the victim twice in Knutsford, Cheshire and used a knife to make threats against her family.

On the first occasion, he strangled her before motioning to a knife on the floor and making threats to her family.

Jones was arrested on February 26 last year after she managed to message family members and ask them to call the police for her.

During his police interviews, he claimed the sex he had with the victim was consensual and strangulation marks on her neck were a result of that consensual sex, but he later pleaded guilty to two counts of rape.

On March 1 this year at Chester Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, as well as sexual assault by penetration, false imprisonment and causing actual bodily harm in relation to the strangulation.

On Tuesday, April 19, the 46-year-old, of Cross Flatts Street, Beeston, was jailed for 12 years and handed an extended licence of six years.

The judge also made him the subject of a sexual harm prevention order and ordered him to sign the sex offenders' register, which he must remain on for the rest of his life.

Det Cons Andrew Cole, of Macclesfield CID, said: "Lee Jones subjected his victim to a horrendous level of sexual and physical abuse. Thanks to the bravery of the victim in disclosing what Jones had subjected her to, he has been brought to justice for his heinous actions.

"I am delighted that he is now behind bars, where he cannot pose a threat to society.

"Whilst the victim will never be able to forget what Jones subjected her to, I hope that the culmination of this case and the sentence that has been handed out by Chester Crown Court gives her some closure and enables her to move forward with her life."

Ch Insp Matt Lager, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, added: "Sexual offences, particularly rape, are horrendous crimes and this is a particularly distressing case.

"I would like to thank all the officers involved in the investigation for their hard work in gathering the required level of evidence to ensure that Lee Jones is made to face the consequences of his actions in the form of a substantial prison sentence.

"I hope that this case encourages other victims of sexual offences to come forward and report them to us."

A TRAINEE teacher Googled if it was natural for him to be attracted to 14-year-old girls, a court heard.

Hector Moyes, 28, admitted he had been a bit silly to police officers after they found ten videos of the most serious Category A, involving the sexual abuse of children, on two electronic devices.

Ipswich Crown Court heard on Tuesday how officers examined an Apple MacBook and an iPhone during a search warrant executed at Moyes address in Fingringhoe Road, Langenhoe, Colchester in June 2021.

But Adam Squibbs, mitigating, told the court his clients offences between January and February of last year came during a mental breakdown.

Having seized the two electronic devices last June, police officers arrested Moyes after finding he had used the internet to access indecent images of children.

A number of indecent images depicting girls as young as ten-years-old being sexually abused were found on the MacBook.

On the iPhone, officers discovered vast swathes of pornography had been downloaded on messenger platform Kik.

Examinations of Moyes internet history showed he had Googled if it was natural for a man in his twenties to be attracted to 14-year-old girls.

Matthew Bagnall, prosecuting, highlighted this was during a period where the defendant was a trainee music teacher at a secondary school.

But Mr Squibbs said Moyes, who is a church organist, had a mental breakdown which resulted in a brief and destructive pornography addiction.

He said his client entered a mental health crisis following the death of his grandmother and the revelation his father had vascular dementia.

Sentencing him to six months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, Judge Emma Peters said most people dont turn to the misery of child pornography when having a breakdown.

She added by fuelling the trade of cruel and disgusting abuse of children, Moyes had lost his teaching career.

Moyes admitted possession of ten Category A videos, as well as four images and one video at Category B and eight images and three videos at Category C.

He was ordered to do 150 hours unpaid work, given a 40 day rehabilitation requirement and a sexual harm prevention order for seven years. He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for the same period.

This is the controlling rapist who held a woman hostage for weeks and tortured her with needles. Neil Cauchi is starting a 19 year jail sentence for the horrific crimes he committed against the woman.

Over the course of nearly two months she was falsely imprisoned in a house in Salford, where he raped her and subjected her to cruel and terrifying attacks. After an argument, Cauchi, 33, tied her to a bed before he began slapping, punching and hitting her legs with a 'heavy object'. She had been tied up so long that her hands turned purple.

Knowing she had a phobia of needles, he also jabbed her legs with hypodermic needles which he had used to administer steroids. At one point he threatened to stick a needle in her eye.

While she was falsely imprisoned, Cauchi raped and sexually assaulted her. She was no longer tied up but was too scared to leave the house in Eccles due to threats he made.

The woman was eventually rescued from her ordeal. Cauchi, of no fixed address, was found guilty of two counts of rape, two counts of false imprisonment, one count of causing actual bodily harm and one count of sexual assault after a trial.

The judge said Cauchi had 'effectively tortured' his victim with the needles, and he had 'held her hostage' for weeks. He admitted witness intimidation in relation to another woman, who had accused him of 'abuse'.

Cauchi bombarded the woman with up to 200 calls a day over a seven day period telling her to retract her statement, which she later did. At his sentencing hearing Cauchi read a letter to the court, saying he was 'deeply sorry' and 'ashamed' of his behaviour.

"I am disgusted with myself," he said. "May God help me find peace." His barrister said Cauchi is now a 'quite different person' now after becoming clean of drugs.

Cauchi will serve two-thirds of his 19 year sentence in prison.

Neil James Shaw, 37, previously of Blacon, was jailed for eight years and told to sign the sex offenders' register for life after being found guilty of rape in June 2018. He was released from prison in December 2021, to serve the remainder of his sentence out on licence, but within weeks he had tried to contact his victim by sending her a friend request on Facebook on February 4, Chester Crown Court heard on Thursday, April 14. That put Shaw, who had been staying in London Road, Sandbach, in breach of an indefinite restraining order which prevented him from contacting his victim. Judge Patrick Thompson jailed Shaw for 18 months, after Shaw admitted the breach. Shaw had previously been convicted by a Chester Crown Court jury of rape, common assault, putting a person in fear of violence and engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour. He had also breached a restraining order then. Shaw raped his victim by refusing to stop during consensual sex despite the victim becoming upset and telling him no and to stop. After the rape he allegedly told her: Its not rape if its your bird. After the 2018 conviction, the victim said: If people read this article and are going through what I went through, I hope it gives them the strength to come forward. People will believe you. Nobody should make you feel that low about yourself when they are in the wrong. If I have saved one person by them reading this then thats more than enough for me. At Chester Crown Court this month, a statement from the victim told of the impact at receiving the friend request on Facebook, and how she feared Shaw would subsequently visit her home. Detective Constable Kelly Birch from Chester CID said: I welcome the sentence handed to Shaw and I hope that it acts as a warning to others. Shaw was well aware of the restrictions against him yet despite this he still tried to contact his victim via Facebook, causing her further unnecessary distress and anxiety. Thankfully the victim had the courage to come forward and report the breach to police, and as a result Shaw is now back behind bars.

A paedophile jailed for filming his sexual abuse of underage boys on spy cams hidden in his Princes Risborough house of horrors has been branded "calculated and vile" by police. Bernard Moore, 57, of Cannon Place, was sent down for 13 years and four months after his twisted behaviour was unmasked late last year when Australian police stumbled across the videos online. Judge Maria Lamb was last week told that the boys were encouraged to perform sexual acts on themselves, with each other and on More, who filmed the encounters and uploaded them to a Russia-based pornographic site. The boys were given beer to drink and in some of the footage appeared drunk. In other clips they were asleep while More molested them. Speaking out after he was jailed at Oxford Crown Court last week, Detective Constable Leanne Moody, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, based at Oxford police station, praised his distraught victims for their bravery. She said: "Moore was a calculated and vile individual who preyed on the most vulnerable children. The victims in this case, bravely spoke up about their abuse which has taken place over several years. If it was not for the courage of these victims, Moores offending would have continued. Moore not only sexually abused his victims, but he filmed the abuse to share with other individuals. The impact of his offending has had an enormous effect on his victims and their families. I hope the sentence will provided some closure to the victims and I thank them for their courage and strength throughout the course of this investigation.

A 20-YEAR-OLD Carlisle man whose unhealthy sexual interest in children was exposed by a paedophile hunter group has admitted having a secret social media account for use with people aged under 16. Daniel Pearson suffered public humiliation as more than 75,000 watched a video of him being confronted about his offending. Aged 18 at the time, he had used a social media website to have sexualised conversations with a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl, unaware that it was a volunteer decoy from a paedophile hunter group. He had to leave his home after the moments when he was first confronted by the paedophile hunters on his own doorstep was live-streamed on the Internet. Pearson was put back before Carlisle Crown Court this week to face a new allegation, that he flouted a sexual harm prevention order by failing to disclose a Snapchat account that he operated under a false name. Gerard Rogerson, prosecuting, said the defendant was convicted on August 2 last year of attempting to cause a child aged 13 to engage in sexual activity. He was given a three-year community order. This included a sexual harm prevention order, which involves the police strictly monitoring his use of any internet enabled devices and a ban on him having unsupervised contact with any child. Within an hour of him entering his guilty plea, Pearson was quizzed by police about whether he had any other social media accounts. He was also asked whether he used any aliases in his online interactions. He denied using any other social media accounts, said Mr Rogerson. Yet five months later, said the prosecutor, the defendants offender manager arranged for Pearsons mobile phone to be analysed and it was confirmed that he had an undisclosed Snapchat account. It was illegal from the moment his sexual harm prevention order was imposed. Mr Rogerson said: To summarise his interview, he admitted failing to comply with the notificiation [Sex Offender Register] requirements. He told police he was afraid to disclose the Snapchat account. The false name he used, he said, was given to him by a landlord so he could be rehoused anonymously. Mr Rogerson said that Pearson had used the Snapchat account to communicate with people aged under 16 but there was no evidence to show that this contact had been in any way sexual. Mark Shepherd, defending, said the defendants engagement with his work designed to rehabilitate him had been nothing short of tremendous. He was also attending regular counselling. He comes to this court today knowing that he had made a massive error of judgement, said the lawyer. Unusually, Pearson, who admitted breaching his court order, had not denied his sexual proclivity and wanted treatment to address this. His background included a childhood trauma, and experience of significant bullying. That provided a reason why he sought out the company of younger children and social isolation had contributed to his offending. But the defendant was now about to take up a new job. Recorder David Tempkin QC noted the defendants excellent progress with his existing three-year community order, which includes a sexual offender treatment programme. He also recognised that Pearson was keen to do the right thing. The Recorder accepted that Pearson had faced difficulties in his community, having had to repeatedly move after publicity about his offending. The Recorder imposed 16-weeks custody in a young offenders institution but he suspended the sentence for 18-months. At the original sentencing hearing, Mr Shepherd said Pearson struggled with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts.

A sex offender has been spared jail after he was caught with videos of toddlers being raped and people having sex with dogs and horses.

Zacharia Al-Kindy was caught with the illegal films and pictures, which showed girls as young as two being abused, at the home he shares with his mum.

The 28-year-old's sickening haul was kept in the 'Downloads' folder of his laptop, which he kept in his bedroom.

His lawyer claimed he began seeking out the abuse material while dealing with the deaths of his dad and a sibling.

The details emerged yesterday when Al-Kindy, of Darvel, East Ayrshire, appeared in the dock at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court to be sentenced.

He had earlier pleaded guilty to charges of possessing indecent images of children and being in possession of "extreme pornographic" images.

Prosecutor Meghan Glancey told the court that officers from Police Scotland obtained a search warrant for Al-Kindy's home.

On January 19, 2021, they attended his home and were granted entry by his mum, while he was not in.

A search revealed 123 indecent images of children on his laptop, 84 of which were the most extreme there is.

She told Sheriff George Jamieson that the images had been downloaded between August 12, 2020, and January 16, 2021, and that his stash even included a 33-minute-long video.

He also had 6 extreme porn images showing adults engaged in sex acts with dogs and horses.

Defence solicitor advocate Simon Brown said Al-Kindy, who is known as Zach, had fully complied with social workers interviewing him ahead of sentencing.

The lawyer said: "He has insight into his offending.

"He had a very difficult upbringing, suffering the death of his father and a sibling within a very short period of time and had a significant impact upon him.

"He kept himself to himself and was isolated, and that seems to have been the beginning of the rabbit hole he went down which resulted in this behaviour."

Sheriff Jamieson slammed Al-Kindy, saying people who access indecent images of children are giving a reason for the abuse to continue.

He then placed him on the Sex Offenders' Register and a Community Payback Order for the next three years.

He was told to attend the Moving Forward, Making Changes Programme, which helps sex offenders change their ways, and banned him from having any unsupervised conduct with anyone under the age of 16.

He also told him he was only allowed to own one mobile phone and one laptop and has to surrender them to social workers and the police to check, when asked.
