Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a child sex offender who committed offences in Milton Keynes has been jailed.

Peter Cox, aged 66, of Brambling Way, Oxford, was sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment at Amersham Crown Court on Wednesday 20 May.

He received a special custodial sentence for offenders of particular concern, meaning he will serve his full custodial term in prison without automatic early release, followed by a mandatory two-year extended licence period.

He pleaded guilty to six counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, two counts of gross indecency with a girl under the age of 14, and two counts of gross indecency with a girl under the age of 16.

The offending took place between 1998 and 2002 in Milton Keynes. The victim was a child at the time of the offences.

Cox was first arrested on 5 September 2018 and, following a complex and protracted investigation, was charged on 1 November 2025.

Specialist Investigator Jo Simmons, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said:

“This was an especially distressing case, not only because of the nature of the offences, but due to the victim’s vulnerability and very young age at the time.

“I would like to commend the victim for the immense courage and resilience she has shown throughout what has been a long and difficult investigation. Coming forward and supporting a case like this is never easy, and her strength has been truly remarkable.

“I hope this outcome provides some sense of justice and demonstrates that we will always take allegations of this nature seriously, no matter how much time has passed.”

Momodau Bojang, 56, of Bramble Road in Southsea appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday 22 May, where he was sentenced for raping and strangling a woman in her 40s in October 2025.

Bojang pleaded not guilty to the offences, and previously appeared at the same court on Monday 16 March for trial.

At court, the jury heard how police had been called in the early hours of Tuesday 28 October, by a woman reporting that Bojang was not letting her leave his address on Bramble Road.

Officers attended and located the woman, before arresting Bojang and taking him into custody.

When speaking with the woman later the same day, she disclosed to officers that over the course of multiple days, whilst staying at Bojang’s address, he had raped and restrained her.

Following a five-day trial, the jury found Bojang guilty of both rape and intentional strangulation, and he was sentenced to eight years and 10 months imprisonment, which also reflected a breach of a previous suspended sentence.

He was also ordered to sign on to the Sex Offenders Register for life.

A violent sex offender who launched a “sickening” attack on a young man on a train has been jailed following a British Transport Police (BTP) investigation.

Zakaria Mohammed, aged 32, of The Coppice, West Drayton, pleaded guilty to Actual Bodily Harm, Sexual Assault, False Imprisonment and breaching the conditions of a previous Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

He was jailed for one year and eight months at Reading Crown Court on 19 May and placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.

He was also made the subject of a 10-year SHPO and must pay a victim surcharge of £187.

The court heard how, shortly before 8.30am on Saturday 24 March, Mohammed sat directly opposite the 21-year-old victim at a table in an otherwise empty carriage.

The pair made small talk until Mohammed, who had clearly been drinking and was carrying a half empty bottle of wine, sexually assaulted the man.

He eventually moved to sit next to the victim, who attempted to the leave his seat when the train reached Reading station.

When he asked Mohamed to move so he could leave he refused, leaving the victim with no other option than to crawl under the table to escape.

However, as he was doing so, Mohammed repeatedly hit him over the head with his wine bottle.

On leaving the train the victim reported what had happened and realised he was bleeding heavily from cuts to his head.

Mohammed was arrested by BTP officers as he approached the barriers to leave the station and was found to be in breach of a previous SHPO forbidding him from travelling on public transport without paying for a ticket.

BTP Detective Constable Lauren Pace said:

“This was a truly sickening assault on a young man who was understandably terrified.

“Mohammed is a dangerous individual who saw nothing wrong with forcing himself upon the victim.

“Quite rightly he has been jailed as a result of our investigation and issued with a SHPO which will hopefully prevent him from attacking anyone else.

“We urge anyone who experiences or witnesses sexual offending on the railway to report it to us by texting 61016.”

A 36-year-old man from Wiltshire has been jailed having pleaded guilty to numerous child sex offences and possession of cocaine.

Christopher Saunders-Pope of Randalls Croft Road in Wilton was sentenced to three years and four months by HH Judge Townsend at Swindon Crown Court today (28 May) following an investigation by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU).

Saunders-Pope was arrested by SWROCU officers in March 2024 after he had been communicating online with who he thought was a teenage boy. He travelled within the county intending to meet the child to sexually abuse. Instead, he was met by officers from the Unit and arrested.

In April this year he pleaded guilty to the following offences:

• Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child 
• Arranging / facilitating commission of offence of sexual activity with a child 
• Making indecent photograph / pseudo photograph of a child (three counts)  
• Distributing an indecent photograph / pseudo photograph of a child 
• Possessing extreme pornographic image 
• Possessing a class A drug (cocaine) 

Detective Inspector David Wells from SWROCU said:

“When we arrested Saunders-Pope, he had travelled that day having made plans to abuse a young boy. Instead, he was taken into custody and prevented from causing the harm he intended. 

“Law enforcement agencies are constantly across the internet working to identify anyone looking to abuse or exploit children. Saunders-Pope's arrest was part of this ongoing work.”

HH Judge Townsend also handed Saunders-Pope a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

A former supply teacher from Greater Manchester has pleaded guilty to several child sex offences, including upskirting and voyeurism, following a GMP investigation.

Abusali Rahman (29/08/1989), a British national of Bangladeshi ethnicity from Salford, entered the following formal guilty pleas at Bolton Crown Court today (28/5/26):

• 12 counts of taking an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child (images obtained by upskirting)
• 4 counts of publishing an obscene article (AI-generated sexualised images)
• 3 counts of making indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child (making AI-generated images)
• 1 count of distribute an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child (sharing an upskirting image with another user)
• 1 count of operating equipment beneath clothing of another without consent (the act of upskirting)

He has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 1 September.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between December 2023 and June 2025 against 13 girls at several secondary schools across the north west.

All affected schools and the victims' parents/guardians have been informed and necessary safeguarding personnel made aware of our investigation.

The guilty pleas follow an investigation by our Online Child Abuse Investigation Team (OCAIT).

Detective Chief Superintendent Rebecca McKendrick, head of GMP’s Public Protection Division, said:

“Our OCAIT team has painstakingly worked through the evidence to build a case against Rahman.

“The victims have been at the forefront of our investigation, and we have kept their parents and guardians and their schools informed and supported throughout this process.

“Protecting children remains our highest priority, and we will continue to work closely with and meeting the victims, schools and local authorities to ensure there is support in place for anyone affected.

“Following a comprehensive GMP investigation, prosecutors were able to piece together a compelling case that left the defendant with little choice but admit his crimes.

“The guilty pleas entered today means he will face the consequences of his appalling actions, without victims having to prolong their suffering by reliving their experiences at trial.”

Aberdeenshire Rapist Paul Patrick Jailed for Life

Paul Patrick, 61, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of eight years and six months before parole consideration after being convicted of 19 sex offences committed over 17 years.

The High Court in Edinburgh imposed the sentence on Wednesday, May 27, along with an Order of Lifelong Restriction for crimes against two women and four girls.

The offences, which included two rapes, five sexual assaults, lewd behaviour, indecent communications and breaching bail, took place between 2006 and 2023 in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Sutherland and at Pawz N Klawz Pet Supplies in Aboyne.

Detective Inspector Kerry McCombie, of the North East Division’s Public Protection Unit, said:

"Patrick believed he was above the law, carrying out a sustained pattern of abuse over many years, but he will now faces the consequences of his despicable actions.

"I want to recognise the strength shown by the victims in coming forward and supporting the investigation. I hope this outcome provides them with some sense of justice and reassurance.

"Police Scotland remains committed to supporting victims of sexual abuse and brining perpetrators to justice, no matter how much time has passed.

"I would encourage anyone who has experienced or experiencing abuse to report it. You will be listened to and supported."

A “calculated” sex offender who prowled night Tubes targeting women has been jailed for more than four years following a British Transport Police (BTP) investigation.

Salman Yousaf, 46, and of HMP Pentonville, pleaded guilty to nine charges in total – eight counts of Sexual Assault and one of Outraging Public Decency.

At Inner London Crown Court on 20 May a judge sentenced him to four-and-a-half years imprisonment, with a further four years to be served on licence when he’s released.

He was also placed on the sex offenders register for life and handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Yousaf was already serving a seven-year jail term when, in 2024, the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) informed BTP detectives of his offending modus operandi.

This information was compared against ongoing investigations into sexual offending on the London Underground network in which the offence matched the MPS case and a suspect had not been identified.

Extensive enquiries resulted in Yousaf being linked to a total of nine offences committed between 2017 and 2021.

All occurred on board Tube trains at night.

The first took place at around 5am on 11 March 2017 when he masturbated in front a woman on a Central Line service near Stratford.   

Then on eight separate occasions, all on Central Line and Jubilee Line services, Yousaf singled out women and sexually assaulted them.

He made a conscious effort to target women who had fallen asleep on night Tubes.  

Detectives arrested Yousaf in prison on 16 April 2024, and he offered no comment to all questions put to him.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorised nine charges against him in total. Then, as his trial approached, he changed his plea from not guilty and admitted to all the offences. 

BTP Detective Constable Iryna Cuthbert said:

“Salman Yousaf is a calculated predator who deliberately exploited the night-time rail network to target lone women, using their isolation to commit a series of premeditated crimes.

“Even when confronted, he showed a complete lack of remorse – the same absence of remorse he demonstrated at his sentencing.

“Thanks to the information provided by our colleagues at the MPS, we were able to link him to a catalogue of vile sexual offending and ultimately extend his stay behind bars beyond 2030.

“Yousaf’s crimes will have a lasting impact on the women he targeted. I want to acknowledge their bravery in coming forward and reporting what happened, and I hope his sentence brings them some measure of justice.”

A man has been jailed for ten years after he groomed a 14-year-old boy online and lured him to his flat for sexual activity.

Darren Moore, 57, began communicating with the victim in early 2024, and despite being aware of his age, turned the conversation sexual in March of that year.

Moore sent explicit photos of himself to the victim and described what sexual acts he wanted to perform on him when they met up in person.

On 8 March 2024, Moore encouraged the victim to travel by train to his flat in Ely after he had finished school for the day. 

The victim obliged and spent the evening at Moore’s flat, where Moore sexually abused him.

When the victim didn’t return home from school, his mum became worried and reported him as missing to local police.

After returning home later that evening, the victim confided in his parents, and the police were informed.

At Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday (21 May), Moore, of Market Street, Ely, was jailed after admitting one count of inciting a boy aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a boy aged 13-15, one count of grooming, and one count of engaging in sexual communication with a child.

DC Dan Knight, who investigated, said:

“Despite knowing the victim’s age, Moore took the time to build a relationship with him online over the course of a few months, before he lured him to his flat and sexually abused him.

“The distress Moore has caused to the teenager, and his family, has been unfathomable, and I would like to commend the victim for his courage in reporting Moore, and supporting the investigation throughout.

"Grooming and sexual exploitation can have devastating effects on young people’s emotional development, mental health and self-esteem which stay with them into adulthood.

“I hope this sentence provides some closure to the victim and his family and shows that predatory behaviour towards children will not be tolerated.”

A victim of a west Wiltshire child sex offender has told a court she "didn't have a childhood" as her abuser was sentenced to 16 and a half years in prison. 

Troy Gibbs, 44, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on Friday May 22 after being found guilty by trial in December for causing/inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, sexual assault by penetration of a girl under 13 and sexual assault of a girl under 13.

In a statement read out in court she said:

"If I was asked to explain my childhood, I would simply say that I didn't have a childhood.

"I have very few friends because I've become so introverted and fearful of letting someone else hurt me or having to explain to someone what happened to me growing up.

"These issues I have are mine, but they have all come about by one person, Troy. Someone who hasn't once shared an ounce of remorse for what he has done, or the pain and suffering he has caused."

The offences, involving two victims, all took place at a property in the west Wiltshire area between 2011 and 2013.

Gibbs was also ordered to pay a £120 surcharge, will be required to register with the police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act 2003 indefinitely and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This order will remain in force until a further order is made.

Detective Sergeant Becki Nash said:

"This was a prolonged and deeply distressing case. Gibbs’ actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for the trust placed in him by the victims and their families. He exploited these children and gave no thought to the trauma his actions have caused.

"I want to recognise the courage shown by the victims in coming forward and supporting this investigation. We understand how difficult it can be to speak about abuse, particularly when it involves someone you trust, and they have shown immense strength. This case was first reported in 2015 but, sadly, it could not be progressed at the time. I would like to thank the victims for allowing us to reopen the case, which has been key to achieving this outcome.

"No sentence can ever truly reflect the seriousness of these offences, where the defendant took advantage of young females who trusted and looked up to him.

"I hope the victims and their families can now begin to rebuild their lives and move forward from this."

A man from Congleton has been jailed for offences including possession of extreme pornography and attempting to engage in sexual communications with children.

Mark Gould, of Park Road, Congleton, was sentenced to four years imprisonment on Thursday 14 May 2026.

63-year-old Gould had previously pleaded guilty to 17 counts of attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child and 10 counts of attempting to incite a child aged between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual activity.

He had also pleaded guilty to four counts of distributing an indecent image of a child, three counts of making an indecent image of a child and one count of possessing extreme pornography.

It was heard in court that, in 2025, officers from Cheshire Constabulary’s Online Child Abuse Investigation Team (OCAIT) received a report that Gould was engaging in sexual communication with children over social media.

Officers conducted a visit to Gould’s address in Congleton on 27 June and he was arrested. Gould’s property was subsequently searched, and officers recovered two mobile phones.

While in custody Gould denied the offences, but digital media officers found message chats across two social media platforms where Gould was speaking with children under the age of 16 and encouraging them to share sexualised images. He also sent numerous explicit images of himself.

Over 20 illicit images were found across his devices, along with three extreme pornographic images.

Gould pleaded guilty to a total of 35 charges on his first court appearance on 2 April 2026.

Alongside his custodial prison sentence, Gould was also ordered to sign on to the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and was handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Detective Constable Stacey Thompson, of the Online Child Abuse Investigation Team, said:

"Mark Gould believed that hiding behind a mobile phone screen meant he could fly under the radar and that his crimes would go undetected.

“He was very much mistaken, as our officers uncovered 22 explicit images of children, as well as several files containing extreme pornography.

“Even upon his release Gould will be continually monitored by our specialist officers under the terms of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order to ensure he does not reoffend and target any more children online.”

Convicted Paedophile Breached SHPO by Using Library Computers to Share Child Abuse Images

A convicted paedophile used computers at his local library to share images of children being sexually abused, Swansea Crown Court heard.

Euwyn Draper, who has previously been jailed for possessing indecent images, maintained secret social media accounts he failed to disclose to police. He used them to engage in sexually explicit conversations with another man online, discussing sexual activity with children aged five and upwards and exchanging explicit photographs.

The 22-year-old, of Hill Street, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, was made subject to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) in April 2024 after being convicted of possessing and distributing indecent images of children. The order prohibits him from using social media accounts in any name other than his own and requires him to disclose any relationships or friendships if asked.

On 5 May this year, during a meeting with his offender manager at Haverfordwest police station, Draper claimed he only used the library internet to watch YouTube and listen to Spotify, denying any social media use. When pressed, he became flustered and admitted chatting to a man online and having an undisclosed X (formerly Twitter) account.

The following day, police accompanied him to the library. He logged into a computer using his library ID and accessed his Google account, allowing officers to examine his X activity. Checks also revealed he had secretly reinstalled an Instagram account he had previously deleted in front of police, plus a Snapchat account (banned under the SHPO due to its auto-delete function) and a BlueSky account in a false name.

Draper answered “no comment” to all questions in his police interview.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of breaching the SHPO. He has three previous convictions for 14 offences, including a suspended sentence and SHPO in April 2024, followed by a 16-month jail term in September 2024 for further indecent images.

Defence barrister Alex Scott told the court his client is an “immature young man” who leads an isolated life in rented accommodation and acts “impulsively” on social media. He said Draper co-operated with police by accompanying them to the library and understands he must tackle the underlying issues behind his offending.

Recorder Greg Bull KC said the courts had “bent over backwards” to help Draper in the past but those efforts had failed. He told the defendant: “I’m not going to lecture you because I would be wasting my breath. You knew you had to comply with the order.”

With full credit for his guilty plea, Draper was sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment. He will serve up to half in custody before release on licence.

A man from Birmingham who sexually groomed girls online across the UK and then met them for sex has been jailed for almost 16 years.

Luke Edmonds, aged 25, was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court. He was sentenced to 15 years and seven months after being convicted following a trial of sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, possession of indecent images of a child and sexual communication with a child.

He was also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for life and a restraining order was placed on each girl he targeted indefinitely.

Back in October 2025 we received information saying Edmonds, from Quarry House Close, Rubery, was uploading indecent images of children online.

We carried out a warrant at his home on 14 October. We seized a mobile phone and when it was examined he was found to have sickening images of him engaging in sexual activity with children.

We arrested him and during interview he claimed the children in the footage to be 16 years old.

Our Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team (OCSET) analysed the data within Edmonds’ phone and it was at this this stage the full scale of his offending came to light. A total of 700 indecent images and videos of children were recovered from his phone.

These all related to four separate girls aged between 13 and 15 situated around the UK who he had been grooming via Snapchat. He had met up with girls in Bristol, South Wales, Chester and Scotland.

A review of his Snapchat account found almost 400 separate message threads where he was clearly targeting young girls. His profile was that of a 15 year-old old boy which he had used to gain the trust of the children who he abused. Edmonds even produced a photocopy of a fake passport saying he was 18 when he met up with one of the girls.

DC Adrian Jackson, from OCSET, said:

“The messages between Edmonds and the children he abused showed he had a clear pattern of offending and would gain their trust through expressing his love for them before bombarding them with sickening demands day and night.

“Edmonds was a prolific offender who had a fascination with underage girls. Fortunately, we were able to put a stop to his offending. He now faces many years behind bars where he can reflect on his crimes and the harm he has caused to those he groomed and abused.

“I would like to express my gratitude to those vulnerable young people affected by the actions of Edmands. They have all been so brave throughout the investigation.”

Northwich Man Jailed for 10 Years for Rapes

Nigel Davies, 55, of Manchester Road, Northwich, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of two counts of rape against the same woman.

Davies appeared at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, May 21. He was found guilty two months earlier, with the second offence committed in 2023.

Prosecutor Catherine Elvin told the court the victim “forgot what it was like to enjoy life” after the abuse. She added: “She does not think she will trust a man again.”

Davies has previous convictions for harassment, breaching a non-molestation order and breaching a restraining order.

Defence barrister Jason Smith said Davies continues to maintain his innocence. He told the court: “It will be a substantial prison sentence for Mr Davies, a man of 55 years of age, who has spent a lot of his lifetime working in a responsible position. It will be proportionate with regard to the impact on him and the interest of justice and all I can ask is it is consistent with the facts and consistent with the guidelines.”

Recorder Anthony O’Donohoe imposed the 10-year sentence. Davies will serve two-thirds in prison and the remainder on licence.

The judge quoted a paragraph from the pre-sentence report: “[It says] he demonstrated distorted thinking […] where he had his own desires above others’ desires.”

Davies was also made subject to an indefinite restraining order preventing any direct or indirect contact with the victim. He will be required to sign the sex offenders register for the rest of his life upon release.

A man from Swindon has been sentenced for making and distributing what officers say are the most sadistic and degrading child abuse images they have ever encountered.

Matthew Ely, 39, of Howse Garden, Rodbourne, was sentenced to 28 months in prison, suspended for 30 months at Swindon Crown Court on May 21 after pleading guilty in April.

He was charged with three counts of making indecent photo/pseudo-photos of a child, one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child, and two counts of distributing an indecent photo/pseudo-photo of a child.

The charges involve more than a thousand images between November 2021 and February 2025 and were located on Ely's mobile phone, including both still photographs and videos.

Ely will also have to participate in a Rehabilitation Activity for a maximum of 35 days, carry out 175 hours of unpaid work and pay £156 in costs.

He is also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years and will be on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 Years.

Beccy Scott, an investigator with the Child Internet Exploitation Team, said:  

“This was an extremely challenging case, with the images involving very young children being particularly distressing.

"In my four years in this team, they were the most sadistic and degrading I have encountered.

"I want to take this opportunity to reassure the community that none of the illegal images located, we believe, were physically taken by Ely himself.

“The forensic evidence clearly shows that Ely was actively engaging with others to trade child sexual abuse material. He is a dangerous individual, and his sentence reflects both the seriousness of his offending and the risk he poses.

“Online child abuse material is not a victimless crime. Real children all over the world are being harmed, and by people like Matthew Ely engaging in this behaviour it only serves to create a market for this content. Anyone who engages in this content will face the full force of the law.”

Police Officer Convicted of Raping Two Women and Abusing a Third

Cameron Ross, a 39-year-old former Police Scotland officer, has been found guilty of raping two women and subjecting a third to a prolonged campaign of abuse.

The offences took place in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in 2012 and 2014, and in Inverness between 2019 and 2022. Ross was suspended from the force in January 2024 after the allegations emerged. He denied all charges but was convicted by a jury at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Judge Alison Stirling denied bail and remanded him in custody. He has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be sentenced on 2 July.

The court heard that Ross raped the first woman after meeting her at a party on Lewis between August and October 2012, pinning her down on a bed. The victim told the jury the attack left her traumatised.

A second woman testified that Ross sat on her, restrained her and raped her in June 2014.

He then subjected a third woman to repeated abuse in Inverness between October 2019 and June 2022, threatening to kill her, pushing and pulling her, throwing her to the ground and brandishing a knife.

Ross was also convicted of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on 5 June 2022 in Inverness, where he shouted, swore and acted aggressively, and of attempting to pervert the course of justice by trying to speak to a woman who was giving a witness statement to police the same day.

Police Scotland said a gross misconduct investigation by its Professional Standards Department will now take place.

Chief Superintendent Helen Harrison said Ross’s actions “went against everything Police Scotland stands for”.

She added:
