A sick teacher who groomed a teenage girl after sending a video of himself carrying out a sex act and asking her if he could whip her with his tie has been locked up.

David Amos was tasked with contacting the County Durham student during the early days of the Covid pandemic but instead used his time to engage in sexual conversations with the girl.

Teesside Crown Court heard how the sexualised talk between the pair started on Snapchat before moving onto other social media platforms.

Richard Bennett, prosecuting, said the 30-year-old coerced the teenager to send a photograph of her naked bottom after he had sent her a number of images of his penis.

He said Amos sent more than 700 messages to the teenager including ones where he offered to whip her with his tie and tried to persuade her to go to a wooded area so that he could photograph her.

Mr Bennett added: “The conversation turned sexual with the defendant asking her if she had done anything sexual with anyone else. It then progressed to the male defendant sending selfies with his penis out standing in front of the mirror.”

The court heard how the online conversation continued in a sexual manner over a number of weeks after it moved to Skype.

He said: “She sent him a picture of her bare bottom and he sent her a picture of him masturbating.”

Mr Bennett said there was a break in communication before Amos renewed contact in the August and the defendant asked her if she would do sexual things with him but she replied - ‘it would be weird because he was a teacher’.

He added: “There was grooming behaviour, to a degree, because this was a long conversation that has taken place over a number of weeks.”

Amos, of Lumley Road, Durham, pleaded guilty to causing a child to watch sexual activity and a charge of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

Amrit Jandoo, in mitigation, said his client had struggled during lockdown after his relationship collapsed but understood his behaviour would result in the end of his promising teaching career.

He added: “There are extensive messages during that period of time and not all of those messages were of that nature. There were messages where he tried to help the girl and he was carrying out his duties properly.”

Judge Chris Smith sentenced the former teacher to a total of 30 months in custody.

“Over the course of several months you engaged in sexualised conversation with her, that sexualised contact started quite quickly after you contacted her on Snapchat.

“In the course of that conversation, you sent her a video of you masturbating,” he said.

“I have read some of the messages, there is a degree of cajoling or pressurising her to engage in sexual activity within the context of what is a gross breach of trust.”

Amos was also ordered to sign on the sex offenders’ register for life and was made subject to a ten-year sexual harm prevention order.

A court has heard how a 63-year-old man tricked women into speaking to him before he sexually assaulted them.

A man targeted seven lone women while they were out walking their dogs and heading to work in Edinburgh city centre.
 
Mirza Mohammad Saeed sexually assaulted the women - including a 15-year-old girl - by grabbing their hands and attempting to kiss them on the mouth. Saeed, 63, used the ruse of stopping his victims to ask them to take a picture of him on his phone before he made a grab for them and leaning in to kiss them.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told on Wednesday that Saeed attacked the seven victims as they walked their dogs at the city’s Harrison Park and as they headed to work along the Union Canal pathway. Saeed, of the Capital’s Fountainbridge area, appeared in the dock to plead guilty to seven sexual assaults and had not guilty pleas to eight further similar offences accepted by the Crown.

Fiscal depute James Clark told the court Saeed assaulted three female dog walkers at Harrison Park between 8am and 9.45am on December 31, 2020. The fiscal said all three women were approached by Saeed and asked to take a photograph of him before he then asked for a picture of both of them together.
All the women denied the request for a photo together and Saeed proceeded to kiss them on the hand and attempt to kiss them on the mouth. Mr Clark told the court the women were left feeling “uncomfortable”, “upset” and “vulnerable” during the attacks.

The court was also told Saeed targeted lone women as they made their way along the city’s Union Canal pathway between 3pm and 4.45pm on February 20 last year. The fiscal said Saeed carried out similar behaviour to get the women to stop and talk to him before he attempted to kiss them.

The court also heard of the assault on the 15 year old girl on the same date as she walked her dog in the Craiglockhart area.

Again Saeed approached the girl and asked her to take his picture before he leaned in and tried to kiss her on the mouth. The girl fought the attacker off by pushing him to the chest and shouting “no, no” at him. The girl later said the attack left her feeling “alone and scared”.
Solicitor Mark Hutchison said his client was a father-of-six, has been in the UK for three years and had been “lonely and suffering from stress at the time of the offending”.

Mr Hutchison told the court Saeed plans to travel to Pakistan next week to attend his daughter’s wedding and will return to Scotland in late November. Sheriff Adrian Fraser agreed to release Saeed on bail and deferred sentence for the preparation of social work reports and a restriction of liberty assessment to December. The sheriff also placed Saeed on the sex offenders register for a term still to be determined.
Saeed pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting seven women at Harrison Park and the Union Canal Pathway, both Edinburgh, on December 31, 2020 and February 20 last year.

A paedophile from Cheshire shared sickening images of children online and said he 'couldn't be trusted' if he had a child.

Police executed a warrant at the home of Brandon Maloney, 23, of Castle View House, Runcorn, on January 25 but he wasn’t there. Frances Willmott, prosecuting at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, said Maloney returned later and made contact with officers, the Liverpool Echo reports.

He volunteered an additional phone and made admissions about indecent images of children. Ms Willmott said the two phones contained 55 child abuse images with victims’ ages ranging from three years and up.

More than half, 29, were of the worst type in Category A including 13 videos, 25 were in Category B, and one was in Category C.

The court heard brief details of some of the horrific imagery on the phones, namely of young boys being raped by adults. Maloney also had an “extreme pornographic” clip of a woman and a dog.

The download activity spanned from November 2017 until his arrest in January 2022. Officers from Cheshire Police also discovered Malony had engaged in sick chats with another paedophile online and shared abuse images during those exchanges, which took place between December 5 and 26, 2021.

In one message Maloney said “he couldn’t be trusted if he had a child that was a boy”.

Four of the shared images were Category A, three were B and two were in C, with the ages of victims involved described as “nearer the three to five” age range by Judge Simon Berkson.

Maloney pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to one count of possessing indecent images of children, three of making indecent images, three of distributing an indecent photograph of a child, and one of possessing extreme pornography.

He had no previous convictions and two cautions for dissimilar matters. Louise McCloskey, defending, pleaded mitigation for Maloney’s prompt guilty pleas, his cooperation with the police investigation, relative youth and “immaturity”, and said he has been diagnosed as having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and might have undiagnosed autism as believed by his mother.

She said Maloney had suffered depression and tried to deal with those issues through alcohol and illicit drugs.
Ms McCloskey said the distribution offences related to a private one-to-one exchange as opposed to commercial or larger scale distribution.

She conceded that: “It’s only right that any right-minded member of society would call for an immediate custodial sentence in cases of this kind - Your Honour has quite rightly pointed out the serious aggravating features, mainly the depiction of very young children in very distressing circumstances.”

The defence barrister said Maloney had been “extremely frank” about “accepting full responsibility” in his interview with the probation service, and had sought help from the Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

Maloney’s pre-sentence report (PSR) covered some of the “challenging situations he’s encountered in his life, which may well have impacted on his emotional and thought processes”.

Ms McCloskey said: “The assessment ultimately concludes with an indication that this defendant could be properly rehabilitated with a very stringent and structured intervention by the probation service.”

She said this could include a rehabilitation activity requirement and completion of the Horizon sex offender programme.

There were two references for Maloney, one of which was from his mother who accompanied him to court but was “too distressed to come into the courtroom”.

Judge Berkson referred to the sentencing guidelines and in particular the range of sentence available for the most serious offence of distributing a Category A child abuse image, which has a starting point of three years with a range of one to five, as well as the principle of “totality”.

He branded the images “revolting”, and added most aggravating features in the guidance “are almost generic” because they occur so frequently for the type of offence.

For Maloney these included the vulnerability of the victims and the moving images.

Mitigating features were Maloney’s previous “good character”, “remorse”, and “lack of maturity” with the offences beginning in 2017.

Judge Berkson granted a third discount for Maloney’s guilty pleas and jailed him for 28 months, remarking on the added seriousness of the distribution charges. He said: “More serious as regarded by the courts was your distribution of the images falling into Categories A, B and C.

“Any distribution of indecent images of the abuse of children means more and more of those images enter circulation so more people can see those images and the abuse continues and continues.“

Maloney was also placed on the sex offenders register and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.

A "family man" sent an explicit image of himself to a police officer posing online as a 12-year-old boy. Robert Jones from Cardiff had asked the 'boy' for sexual images and described him as "hot".

The 43-year-old security officer was caught in the sting after exchanging messages between August 21 and September 8 last year with a decoy on Kik and Snapchat. Prosecutor Ieuan Bennett told Cardiff Crown Court: "The defendant had received an image of the supposed boy lying on a bed wearing a Superman outfit. He engaged what he thought to be a child in a text conversation.

"The 'child' said he thought the defendant sounded really nice. The defendant indicated he was 42 and lived in Cardiff. The supposed child indicated he was 12, lived at home with his mother, and thought he was gay. The defendant then began to engage in sexualised conversation with the phrase: 'So you're into men then?'

"He then described the 'child' as sexy and hot. He began to make indecent suggestions. He told the 'child' he wanted to run his hands up and down his body, kiss his stomach and chest... He invited the 'boy' to masturbate himself."

Jones sent a series of images and videos showing himself lying on a bed and only wearing underpants "with what was clearly an erection", said Mr Bennett. The defendant had also asked the 'boy' to send sexualised images of himself.

Police then attended Jones' home in Ashcroft Crescent, Fairwater, and seized his iPhone, finding no evidence of other indecent contact. He told officers he considered his own behaviour "disgusting" but claimed he had no sexual motive. Jones said he had felt sorry for his correspondent because the 'boy' was closeted.

Jones, now of Penderyn Close in Merthyr Tydfil, pleaded guilty to attempting sexual communication with an under-16. He had no previous convictions.

Stephen Thomas, mitigating, accepted that although the victim was not real his client had "known what he was doing" and made "persistent" contact. But the barrister said it was "very much an isolated incident", adding: "Throughout his life he has suffered with anxiety and depression. His mental health deteriorated over a period of years and he didn't seek assistance. The depression built up, not least with his marriage ending some eight years ago.

"There were issues which meant it took three years for him to resolve contact with his children. He is thoroughly ashamed of himself and the impact of this on his family. He is embarrassed to be appearing in court.

"He is a very hardworking and industrious man, and a family man, employed as a security officer in property protection. If he were sent to custody his job would be lost and he is the main breadwinner for his family who would be significantly affected."

The judge, Recorder IWL Jones, appeared surprised when Mr Thomas asked that he allow police to return the iPhone to the defendant, who has a year left on his £100-a-month phone contract. Denying the request the judge said: "This doesn't normally happen... We can't get away from the fact the phone was used for the purposes of the crime."

Passing sentence Recorder Jones said: "It is quite clear, according to the evidence, that you had an erection under your clothing. You were sexually aroused. You should be, and I am sure are, ashamed of what you did. If the person was indeed a 12-year-old boy there is no question he would have been harmed.

"This case is all the more tragic because you have no previous convictions. I accept you are remorseful and full of shame.

"I have thought long and hard about this. If you were to go straight into prison today it wouldn't simply punish you. It would be a huge punishment for your family – and it is not their fault, it is your fault – resulting in the loss of their accommodation."

The judge imposed a nine-month prison term suspended for 18 months, 30 days of rehabilitation activity, and 150 hours of unpaid work. Jones must also pay prosecution costs of £1,200 and a victim services surcharge of £156. He will be under a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.

As he concluded his sentence Recorder Jones told the defendant: "You must remember this is really a last chance.

A woman who was sexually assaulted at Derby bus station has finally got justice after a protracted battle. Daniel Oakes, 19, of Bass Street, Derby was jailed for 26 weeks after pleading guilty to one charge of sexual assault on a female. Judge Taaffe, sentencing, also ordered Oakes to sign on the sex offender register for the next seven years.

The female victim rang Derbyshire Live to explain how she had been groped by a man wearing an ankle tag while waiting for a bus. The 25-year-old said she was left shocked by the incident, which happened at around 9am on Thursday, September 22. On complaining about the sexual assault, she was told to "stop being childish". When she pushed her attacker away, she was threatened with being thrown out of the bus station for being aggressive.

Police initially suggested the case be closed as no suspect could be identified, despite the fact that the victim took photographs of the offender and that he was wearing an electronic tag around his ankle. She said she’d been left feeling "isolated and alone" by the incident. The force is now reviewing its handling of the case.

She said: "I experienced a significant lack of help and support from not only the police, but the security staff at the bus station, who dealt with the matter very poorly. I was treated like the crazy one. I needed help and none was given."

After Derbyshire Live contacted the police with the photos supplied by the victim, the force reopened the investigation. The photos were released in a public appeal for information and Oakes was arrested shortly after. He pleaded guilty at a hearing at Chesterfield Magistrates' Court five days later. The victim told the story from her point of view.

She said: "A young man I'd noticed loitering around on the phone as I was sat down then came and sat next to me. Not even a minute passed by and I felt a brushing on my hip area. Initially I thought nothing of it and I thought it was his bag or clothing brushing passed me. I reached down to brush it off and felt his hand on my bottom/hip area.

"I immediately jumped up and asked him what on Earth he was doing. To his shock I went straight to security and informed them I had just been sexually assaulted, to which their reply was 'we will keep an eye on him'."

Not satisfied by this response, she went back to confront him herself.

“I made a scene. I asked him why he thinks it’s acceptable to touch a woman he doesn’t know like that. I pushed him away and he pushed me back. That’s when security came over and threatened to remove me from the building for being aggressive. I was then told to get on my bus and to stop being childish. The bus stop was very busy at this time but no one, apart from one student from Derby College, was willing to help or even believe me.

"I feel unsafe and paranoid now, and my sense of awareness is heightened. I have seen the bus station security guard since and he has not once said sorry to me for threatening to remove me from the station or for the lack of help."

She claims that the man was also told to get on his bus but explained that he was just "bus watching". She believes he should have been removed from the bus station for this fact alone.

The fact that the man had a grey tag around his right ankle meant that he was a recent offender. There are two types of electronic tags issued by courts in the UK - curfew tags, which check if an offender is where they’re meant to be at certain hours of the day, and location tags, which monitor an offender’s location 24/7.

The woman also offered her opinion on the fact that the case was put forward to be closed but then reopened with no extra evidence provided. She said: "Even though I had a very good image and description of him, they chose to avoid trying to attempt to serve justice. I felt he would have been easily traceable with the tag on his ankle.

"I'm happy he's now been convicted, but it shouldn't have taken third-party intervention to have got to this point."

Derbyshire police initially said: "Following a report of a sexual assault at Derby bus station a full and proportionate investigation was completed. All reasonable lines of enquiry were followed during the investigation, however, after no offender was able to be identified the case was filed.

"We take reports of sexual assault seriously and would urge anyone who may have been a victim of such a crime to contact us in order for the matter to be investigated and support offered to them – no matter the outcome of the investigation."

However, since the offender has been convicted, the force provided a new statement. A spokesman explained that to "file" a case is to say that all proportionate lines of enquiry have been followed and no suspect has been identified.

The statement reads: "An allegation of sexual assault was reported to have taken place at Derby bus station on September 22. An officer, after being allocated and reviewing the information available, including images taken by the victim, had put forward the case to be filed due to there not being enough evidence to pursue.

"All crimes, before they are filed, must be reviewed by a sergeant, however, this had not yet taken place in this instance. The crime had therefore not been filed at that point. Once the review of the information took place, including the photos, it was deemed that the images were of good enough quality for an identification to be made.

"The images were placed on an appeal and the person, we now know to be Daniel Oakes, was identified, arrested, and charged. There are clear processes in place for how crimes are filed – and a sergeant review is an important part of the oversight of the cases. A review into the initial investigation of the incident is ongoing by the officer's line manager who will assess if further advice or support is required."

“We are sorry that the service this victim received did not meet the level that she, or we, would expect and a review into the circumstances of the initial investigation are ongoing – after which any further advice or support that may be identified will be delivered.”

A spokesperson for Derby City Council, which looks after the bus station, said: “We are aware of the incident in Derby bus station on September 22 and have cooperated with Derbyshire police as part of their investigation.”

A DWARF who hired himself out for stag and hen parties has been put under a curfew to keep him away from joggers.

Marc Corrieri, 30, has been tagged after he left a teenage runner terrified when he followed her on a country road.

He drove alongside the 17-year-old as she was exercising near Strathaven, Lanarkshire.

The girl, who was jogging alone, became so concerned by his behaviour she contacted police.

Corrieri, of Motherwell, Lanarkshire, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner in June 2020.

Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen tagged him for the next six months and said he could have been sent to jail.

The 4ft 2ins creep will have to remain inside his home between 5pm and 5am every day after the sheriff ruled early evening joggers needed to be protected from him.

Corrieri was also placed under supervision for a year.

Sheriff MacFadyen said: “I’m quite satisfied that this was a terrifying incident and due to your record, custody is certainly an option.

“Given the nature of the incident and the age of the young person who was simply out jogging, which is an activity often carried out after work by persons who do that, then the hours you will be restricted to your home will be different to normal.

“Failure to comply with any of these conditions will bring the case back to court and then all sentencing options will be open.”

Corrieri had previously worked for the Buff Butlers events firm and dressed as a £150-an-hour Oompa Loompa from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

But he quit after he was caught pestering schoolgirls for sex.

He was ordered to perform 240 hours of unpaid work and put on the sex offenders’ register for three years in September 2014.

Corrieri had earlier told how loved his entertainment job but laid down strict ground rules to keep his dignity intact.

He said: “I get paid to go out and party with different lads, we get a lot of attention from the ladies and I get to enjoy myself.

“I dress up for them as Superman or as an Oompa Loompa but I draw the line at dressing up as a woman - that’s a no go.”

His rules included no picking up or throwing, no tampering with his drink, not using the word ‘midget’ and no police involvement.

Brave victim's evidence means the 'predatory sex offender' will now serve a long sentence.

A serving police officer is facing a lengthy jail term after he was found guilty of raping a girl under the age of 13 and of wiping his phone to try to pervert the course of justice. James Ford, 31, of Hertfordshire Police, was found guilty of 10 counts of sexual abuse against the same child following less than a day of deliberation by jurors at Cambridge Crown Court.

The bearded defendant, formerly of Bishop’s Stortford, was found guilty of four counts of rape, four of sexual assault and two of causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity. He was also found guilty of carrying out an act tending and intended to pervert the course of public justice, in that he “deliberately wiped his phone by factory resetting his Samsung Mobile phone”.

The offences, which had been denied by the defendant, who served as an intervention officer, happened between 2019 and 2021. Hertfordshire Police said Ford was suspended from duties in November last year.

The judge in the case, Mr Justice Simon Bryan, remanded Ford in custody ahead of sentencing on Friday. Releasing jurors, he told them that Ford was “obviously going to have a lengthy custodial sentence – the sentence will be determined by me on Friday”.

Hertfordshire Police said that when allegations emerged, the case was independently investigated by specialist officers based within the Child Abuse Investigation and Safeguarding Unit (CAISU) at Cambridgeshire Police. The matter was also referred to police watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct, and the force’s Professional Standards Department.

Ford, a serving officer, joined the force in December 2019 and was originally based in East Hertfordshire as a uniformed response officer, Hertfordshire Police said. Detective Inspector Susie Hine, who heads the Child Abuse Investigation and Safeguarding Unit (CAISU) at Cambridgeshire Police, paid tribute to the “courage and bravery” of the child.

“Through the victim’s powerful testimony, the jury were left in no doubt and now a predatory sex offender is behind bars,” she said. “Cases of this nature are both disturbing and upsetting and I want to reassure the public, there is no place for an offender to hide no matter who they are.In this case it was a serving police officer who now faces the custodial consequences of his appalling actions.”

Detective Constable Mark Williamson, the officer in the case, said: “Ford has shown no remorse for his actions and it’s a credit to the victim that the jury saw beyond his lies. I would encourage victims of child abuse to reach out to police or support agencies to get the help and support they need, no matter when the offence occurred.

“Ford faces a significant prison sentence for his crimes which I hope gives a sense of justice to the victim and their family.”

Hertfordshire Assistant Chief Constable Genna Telfer said: “James Ford took advantage of a vulnerable victim in the most appalling way and his behaviour will have devastated those involved. Thankfully, due to the bravery of the victim and the due diligence of the officers investigating, he will now serve time in prison which is where he belongs. I am disgusted by his actions and he will face a fast track hearing for dismissal.”

Police investigation uncovered series of depraved Facebook chats between couple

A man sexually abused a child and filmed his wife having sex with their pet dog.

Kieran Parkinson groomed the boy with promises of paying him cash, then performed a sex act on himself as the youngster watched. Police also uncovered a series of depraved Facebook chats between him and his wife Mary, in which they discussed raping and assaulting children.

Liverpool Crown Court heard that an investigation into the couple, from Haydock, then revealed that the husband had messaged the victim on social media "asking him to play footsie". The complainant then told officers that Mr Parkinson, now of no fixed address, had offered him money in exchange for sex acts.

On another occasion, the 36-year-old stood rubbing his private parts in the boy's presence for several minutes. The paedophile denied this had been sexually-motivated, and claimed that he had actually been itching himself.

Steven Swift, prosecuting, described how a stash of videos of women having sex with animals were also found on Parkinson's phone. This included one "lengthy" homemade clip showing his partner engaged in sexual activity with the family dog.Simon Christie, defending Kieran Parkinson, told the court that his client had been "badly assaulted" during his seven months on remand in prison. He added: "Plainly, seven months in custody for a person who is inexperienced with that has had a significant effect."

Parkinson - who has no previous convictions and appeared via video link to HMP Liverpool - was found guilty of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and causing a child to watch a sexual act after a trial and admitted three counts of possession of extreme pornographic images. He was jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Sentencing, Judge David Swinnerton described him as having shown a "lack of control over his deviant sexual interests". He added: "You seem to have been motivated by your own needs and desires.

"There is a background of drug abuse by yourself, and particularly by Mary Parkinson. Some of the messages you were exchanging are extremely concerning."

The judge also imposed a sexual harm prevention order and a notification requirement, both lasting 10 years. Parkinson will be required to pay a victim surcharge.Mrs Parkinson, also of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of extreme pornographic images. Her defence counsel Sarah Holt told the court that the 38-year-old will be homeless upon her release from HMP Styal.

She had "limited" previous convictions, including for fraud. Her sentencing was adjourned until later this week.

A man woke to find another man performing a sex act on him after being offered somewhere to stay after a night out.

Bar manager David Madeley, 34, admitted sexually assaulting the man. Liverpool Crown Court was told Madeley, of Egerton Street, Chester, had gone out for drinks and later offered the victim a place to sleep.

Prosecutor Simon Mintz told the court Madeley offered to share his bed, with the victim sleeping at one end. Sleeping fully clothed, the victim then woke in the night to find that Madeley had pulled down his trousers and underwear and was performing a sex act, the court was told.

A scuffle broke out between the two which saw bottles broken as the victim tried to recover his clothes.

The victim fled the property and then flagged down a police car to explain what had happened. Madeley was said to have asked his housemates why the victim was trying to glass me during the altercation.

Madeley initially protested that the act was consensual, but Anna Price, defending, said he took full responsibility for the incident and felt sincere regret and remorse. It was noted that he complied fully with police, entering a guilty plea at the earliest stage - showing real signs of victim sympathy

Judge Robert Trevor-Jones said Madeley accepted blame, but noted the man he performed the sexual act on was defenceless in the incident. He added: Its quite clear there is a real and enduring impact on the victim.

Madeley was sentenced to 12 months in prison, handed a restraining order for five years and placed on the sexual offenders register for seven years.

A 49-year-old man has been handed a prison sentence after being found guilty of a number of sexual assaults.

49-year-old Michael Coburn has been handed a 23 year sentence after being found guilty of a number of sexual offences. 

Coburn was convicted of offences against two victims between 2018 and 2022 while he was living in Billingshurst.

In total the offender has been found guilty of 19 sexual offences against two girls.

Police opened an investigation on Michael after the two victims came forward to police and disclosed the assaults in January 2022.

The 49-year-old pleaded not guilty to all charges but was convicted by a unanimous jury.

Coburn was arrested and charged with 11 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13; four counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in a sexual act; two counts of assaulting a child under 13 by penetration; and two counts of attempted rape of a child under 13.

At Lewes Crown Court on September 29, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison with a further five years on licence.

He will also be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

David Llewellyn found himself back in court four years after he was jailed for possessing indecent images of children.

A chef banned from hiding his phone history was caught watching incest-themed pornography on incognito mode. Police visited David Llewellyn's home in Cardiff and found him using the setting which prevents internet history being recorded.

Llewellyn was convicted of possessing indecent images of children and extreme pornography in 2018, which saw him receive a 16-month prison term and a 10-year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) prohibiting him from using incognito mode. But the 36-year-old found himself in court again after police paid him an unannounced visit on March 22 to check he was complying with the order.

Prosecutor Joshua Scouller told Cardiff Crown Court on Monday: "Police attended his address in Connaught Road, Cathays, and Mr Llewellyn provided his mobile phone to police. DC Jones opened the phone's Google browser and immediately saw the last site he had viewed was a porn site. He had watched incest titles, but there was no suggestion these were indecent images of children.

"The officer noted the Google page had defaulted to incognito mode. He also checked the internet history and found no record of the site.

"Mr Llewellyn was interviewed under caution and fully accepted he was in incognito mode. He stated he did not intentionally put it in that mode but accepted it was when police offers arrived."

The defendant admitted breaching the SHPO. He had accepted a caution in 2021 for a previous breach, which Mr Scouller said had been a "shot across the bows" from police.

Paul Hewitt, mitigating, said: "Mr Llewellyn went to prison and when he came out his domestic arrangements were affected. He has little contact with his family and has had to, in effect, rebuild his life. It has affected his job because he's a trainee chef trying to do his best in that industry. He works in Cardiff for very long hours, though they have reduced recently to about 46 to 50 hours a week. They were much higher than that. He has debts and is trying to cope with all of that."

The barrister added that police had kept his client's phone for three months before returning it. "He has had to wait since March for this offence to be dealt with," said Mr Hewitt.

Passing sentence, the judge Recorder IWL Jones said: "You were cautioned in September 2021. That should have been a warning to you to be extremely careful. You told an officer you had been using pornography for sexual gratification once every couple of weeks. It's clear you are remorseful, and you have been suffering from depression. Behaving like this puts everything at risk."

The judge imposed a two-year community order including 100 hours of unpaid work and 15 days of rehabilitation activity. He must also pay £420 in prosecution costs and a statutory victim services surcharge within three months.

 A “PREDATORY” online sex offender is back behind bars because he evaded police checks while on parole.

Adam Matthew William Lee, now 32, was jailed for two years in March 2021 after he used social media to try to persuade people he believed were schoolgirls aged 13 and 14 to perform sexual acts online. They were actually adults and told police about him.

As part of the sentence at York Crown Court, he was made subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) that enables police to monitor his online activities.

Recorder Andrew Dallas told Lee after hearing details of his crimes: “It shows you were behaving in a way that was predatory.”

York Magistrates Court heard that following his release partway through the sentence, he bought an internet device which he concealed from supervising officers.

Lee, of Burnsall Drive, Holgate, pleaded guilty to breaching the SHPO between September 20 and October 7 this year.

He was jailed for 34 weeks. Magistrates told him his new offence was very serious because he had been on prison licence at the time and it was a breach of a court order.

In addition to the prison term, Lee was ordered to pay a £187 statutory surcharge and £85 prosecution costs. He remains subject to the SHPO until March 2031.

A choirmaster who once performed in front of the Pope in Rome has been charged with a child sex offence.

Nigel McClintock, the subject of a three-part BBC 1 NI documentary in 2010, was at Belfast Magistrates Court this week charged with sexual communications with a child.

The 50-year-old acclaimed organist and conductor, from Albert Road, Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, is accused of committing the offence in April this year.

McClintock, who studied at the Royal College of Music, was not required to appear in person but during a short hearing at Belfast Laganside Courthouse, a police officer told the court they could connect him to the charge.

The exact wording of the charge states that he “for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated with another person... and the communication was sexual or was intended to encourage (name removed) to make (whether to you or to another) a communication that was sexual, and (name removed) was under 16 and you did not reasonably believe that (name removed) was 16 or over contrary to section 22A of the Sexual Offences (NI) Order 2008”.

He is yet to enter a plea and the case was adjourned until later this year.

A pervert who sexually abused and raped a young girl when he was just a teenager has finally been locked up as justice caught up with him.

Stuart Jackson carried out a number of sickening sexual assaults on the young girl when she was under ten-years-old.

The 43-year-old’s offending took place more than two decades ago when he aged around 17, Teesside Crown Court heard.

Jackson, of Richmond Place, Thornaby, was found guilty of a catalogue of offences, including rape and serious sexual assault, following a trial earlier this year.

The father-of-two appeared in court via a videolink from Durham Prison to be sentenced for his horrific abuse of the young girl.

Judge Chris Smith said: “You subjected your victim to sexual assault in a variety of different ways. The first episode involved multiple assaults and you second attack her was similarly multifaceted - both amounts to sustained sexual assaults.”

Dealing with the attacks, he added: “On that day she was subjected to a degrading and humiliating, sustained series of sexual assaults. The second incident is no less serious, this was of course a second attack on the same victim.”

The judge said Jackson used sex toys on the victim before raping her.

He added: “The physical pain you caused her left her struggling to walk. As a nine-year-old child she felt the need to destroy her bedsheets which were stained with her blood.

“Those physical injuries may have resolved in a relatively short time but the psychological harm cause to her has been long-lasting and profound.”

Jackson was locked up for a total of 16 years and six months and was issued with an indefinite restraining order to protect his victim and ordered to sign on the sex offenders’ register for life.

Judge Smith said: “With great dignity and real clarity, this victim outlined to the court the effect your offending had on her. How psychologically she was affected immediately as a young girl; how as she grew older, she suffered flashbacks; and how medication and counselling had brought only limited relief from the depression and anxiety caused by your offending.”

Speaking after the sentence was passed, officer in the case Detective Constable Francesca Siebrits, of Cleveland Police, said: “Despite the passage of many years, justice has caught up with Jackson and he now faces a prison sentence.

"While this cannot compensate the victim for the trauma she suffered, I hope it will go some way to helping her begin to move forward with her life and I wish her the very best.”

And Safeguarding Chief Inspector Deb Fenny added: “Anyone who has suffered abuse of this kind - no matter how long ago it may have taken place - can rest assured that we will do all we can to bring offenders before the courts.

"Those who believe they can prey on vulnerable children should realise that they will be dealt with.”

A vile rapist who attacked a teenager in a remote location after riding away with her on the back of his motorbike has been locked up for almost 13 years.

Lee Mason let the teenager sit on his motorbike for some photographs following a night out in Middlesbrough before speeding away from her friends and safety.

The 27-year-old took the terrified teenager to a remote location where he carried out two sexual assaults before riding off to an even more remote location where he subjected his young victim to a traumatic rape.

Teesside Crown Court heard how the victims mother had been alerted to what happened and rushed to Middlesbrough in a desperate attempt to find her daughter.

Aisha Wadoodi, prosecuting, said the teenagers horrific physical ordeal only came to an end when Mason dropped her off near one of her friends homes and she managed to call the police.

The judge heard how the attack had a devastating impact on the teenager and she had been given a sexually transmitted infection from her attacker.

In a heart-breaking victim impact statement, the woman said the mere sound of a motorbike leaves her terrified and her life has been destroyed by the lasting psychological damage caused by her rape.

Ever since you raped me, I have never been able to feel the same again. I now have trouble closing my eyes because all that I see is your face and have been prescribed sleeping tablets.

I now have panic attacks when I hear noises in the night, I worry that it is you, she said.

What you did is constantly replayed over and over in my mind. Whenever I hear or see a motorbike, I think it is you and I panic.

The victims mother also made a personal impact statement to relay to the court the horrendous suffering her daughter had endured.

She said: I was sent a photograph of my daughter on the back of your motorbike that I was able to show the police, the photograph horrified me and to this day fills me with anger about what you have done.

Saddens me that she looked so happy in the picture not knowing what was to come. Its the last picture of my daughter before you, a grown man, a predator, destroyed our lives and put us through hell.

Miss Wadoodi said the quick thinking of the investigating officer resulted in vital CCTV and photographic evidence being seized, resulting in Masons speedy arrest.

Mason, of Hartington Road, Stockton, pleaded guilty to rape, assault by penetration, and sexual assault, following the attack on April 24 this year.

Victoria Lamballe, in mitigation, said her client now fully accepts being responsible for everything that his teenage victim told police.

She added: He recognises, as he must, that this was a truly terrifying attack on this young woman.

Judge Howard Crowson sentenced the father-of-two to a total of 12 years and nine months in prison.

The effect on her continues, it was dreadful at the time and it continues now. For periods she has been unable to eat or sleep properly or go to work, he said.

These offences represent a series of sexual assaults on a young woman by a stranger. It has left her with the all too common feeling of self-loathing, while she has no reason to feel anything bad about herself.
