Barry Road, Barry, Vale Of Glamorgan, The, CF62
A SEX offender from Barry has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Daniel Breadmore, 50, of Barry Road, refused to handover a phone over to police officers.
The Sexual Harm Prevention Order prevents Breadmore from accessing any devices with access to the internet.
In May 2022, he was sentenced to 18 months for four counts of possessing indecent images of a child.
In the same hearing he was sentenced for the offence of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
On June 5, when police entered the address of the defendant, it appeared he had a phone in the pocket of his trousers.
He handed over one phone, but when officers asked him to hand over a second phone, officers said he went ‘ballistic’, it was heard in court.
The phone was found to have software that stopped the defendant from being seen through an IP address.
There was no evidence there were videos on there but there was concerning content referring to incest, said the prosecutor.
This was in breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order made by Cardiff Crown Court on May 30, 2022.
Breadmore pleaded guilty to breach of the order on Friday June 7, 2024, and was sentenced in court on August 8.
The judge sentenced him to 12 months in prison and said the Sexual Harm Prevention Order will carry on for another eight years or so.
Committed a number of sexual offences against children.
Colcot Road, Barry, Vale Of Glamorgan, The, CF62
A convicted paedophile breached a court order when he travelled to Senegal and married a woman he met on a dating website with a young daughter. He bought the daughter a phone and had her contact number in his phone.
Donald Davies, 65, of Barry, committed a number of sexual offences against children and was sentenced to a six year custodial sentence in 2010 for sexual activity with a child, when he sat on a girl while naked and performed a sex act. He was also found in possession of indecent images of children and extreme pornography.
Before that, he received a caution in 2006 for inciting a child under 13 of engaging in sexual activity, when he kissed the victim with tongues. He was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which he breached on multiple occasions.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday heard Davies was visited by monitoring officers on June 28 who surprised to learn the defendant had travelled to Senegal and married a woman he had met on an African dating website. He told the officer the woman had a young daughter who lived in another country.
When the defendant's phone was looked, there was a contact number for the daughter and he told the officer's he had bought her the phone and once spoken to her to provide advice. On previous occasions, he had previously prevented officers from looking at his phone.
He told the officers he was planning on bringing his wife to live with him in Wales. Attempts were made to speak to the woman but she initially hung up on the first occasion and later dismissed the defendant's previous convictions when told about them.
Davies, of Colcot Road, later pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The court heard he had eight previous convictions for sexual offences, for which he was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court.
In mitigation, the court heard the defendant was employed as a HGV driver and sent £500 each week to his wife in Senegal. He also has two children, who he provides financial support for.
Sentencing, Judge Lucy Crowther said Davies had "shown an utter disregard for the rules". She added: "You knew perfectly well you should not have done what you did but you did it anyway."
Davies was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment. He will serve half the sentence in custody before he is released to serve the remainder on licence.
Sex pest sets fire to wreath on woman's front door in random attack.
Brunel Close, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, CF63
An intoxicated man set fire to a wreath on a woman's door after he repeatedly kept knocking and she told him to move away. The occupants managed to put the fire out with a vase of water but if left the blaze could have spread to the rest of the house.
Jake Shead, 26, also sexually assaulted two women in Barry town centre in random attacks which left both victims feeling "anxious and scared". The defendant was described as a "dangerous man" with a "bad reputation".
A sentencing hearing at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday heard occurred at the Barry home of the victim at around 9.30pm on April 29 last year when she saw Shead leaning against a neighbour's door. She then heard a knock at her door and when she opened it she saw the defendant.
The victim asked "Did you knock my door?" to which Shead responded "F*** knows, I don't know." The victim closed the door but the knocking continued after five minutes. She felt scared and went up to her daughter's bedroom and opened the window to speak to Shead.
Having told Shead to "move", she closed the window but heard knocking again. The victim returned to the window and saw the front door had been set on fire. She panicked and called the fire brigade and her partner threw a vase of water onto a wreath on the door, which put the fire out.
Prosecutor Bethan Evan said Shead was at the scene and was shouting abuse at the fire brigade, telling them to "F*** off", but was arrested by the police. An examination concluded the fire could have spread to the rest of the house if it had not been put out.
In a victim personal statement, the woman said: "This has had a significant impact on me and my family. I was terrified for the safety of me and my daughter... I'm worried about repercussions and that he will come back. My front door is damaged and I have been unable to get it replaced so it serves as a constant reminder."
Shead was on bail at the time of these offences and was subsequently convicted of two offences of sexual assault which took place on August 28, 2021, in Holton Road, Barry. He was intoxicated through drink and grabbed a 16-year-old girl before attempting to hug her and kiss her.
When he was confronted by another woman about his behaviour, he grabbed her between the legs over her clothing. He denied the offences but the defendant, of Brunel Close, was found guilty following a trial. He pleaded guilty to arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
In a statement read out to the court, the 16-year-old victim said: "This has made me feel a lot more scared when out in public and I have to have someone with me in case I see him again... I felt frightened and I know what he's capable of doing. He is scary and dangerous and I am afraid if I bump into him again something bad will happen."
The second victim said: "This incident has affected me a lot and made me feel a lot more anxious out in public.... He has a bad reputation for not caring about anyone, assaulting young women and boys and banned from most pubs. He does bad things. The incident shocked me and made me feel violated and I am more anxious of people around me."
The court heard Shead has 18 previous convictions for offences concerning drugs, driving matters, racially aggravated criminal damage, battery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and wounding. Defence barrister Kevin Seal said his client was drunk during both sets of offences and "didn't have a clue what he was doing".
Judge Geraint Walters sentenced Shead to three years imprisonment. The defendant was also made subject to sex offender notification requirements for 10 years.

Paedophile breached court order by following young boys on Instagram.
Barry, Vale Of Glamorgan, Wales
An "extremely dangerous" paedophile who was found in possession of indecent images of children breached a court order by messaging young boys on Instagram. He also messaged boys asking for pictures.
Owen David, 30, of Barry, was previously sent to prison in 2020 after he attempted to meet a child following grooming and for possessing images of child abuse. As a result of these convictions he was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) which prevented him from having contact with children.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court heard David's electronic devices were regularly monitored by a probation worker. On June 6 last year the probation worker viewed the defendant's Instagram account which was found to be following 60 accounts belonging to young boys.
Prosecutor Jeffrey Jones said David had also sent a message to one boy which read "DM for pics", which was interpreted as a request for images. An offender manager obtained a password for the defendant's account and saw he was following an account for a 15-year-old boy but as he viewed these accounts they were being deleted.
David, now of HMP Parc, was arrested the following day and an Alcatel phone was seized. Two "borderline" images of children were discovered but the most concerning was an image of a boy between eight and 10 years old exposing his hip, which was considered a category C image.
David initially denied any wrongdoing but later pleaded guilty to breaching a SHPO and making an indecent image. The court heard David was sentenced to two years imprisonment in 2020 and a further 18 months imprisonment the same year. At the time of the current offence he was subject to a 10-year SHPO.
In mitigation Martha Smith-Higgins said her client had pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity and was "candid" about his sexual interest in children. She said he also told police about the indecent images and told them where they could find it on his device.
Sentencing, Judge Daniel Williams said: "You have a terrible record in relation to child sexual offences. It's clear from everything I have heard about you – you are extremely dangerous. This is a serious breach of the SHPO."
David was sentenced to a total of three years and two months imprisonment. He was made subject to a new SHPO and sex offender notification requirements which will last for life.

'Monstrous' couple raped and sexually abused young child repeatedly.
'Monstrous' couple raped and sexually abused young child repeatedly.
Barry, Vale Of Glamorgan, Wales
A "monstrous" couple raped and sexually abused a young girl despite her crying and protestations. They convinced her their treatment of her was "normal" and repeatedly took advantage of her.
David and Kim Crapper, of Barry, reached levels of "depravity" in their abuse of the child, who is not named for legal reasons. The offences came to light when the victim told a friend about the husband and wife's behaviour and they were arrested by police.
Sentencing the pair, Judge David Wynn Morgan said: "It's hard to think of a more monstrous (offence)." A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday heard the abuse began when she was very young and went on for years.
In her interview to police, the victim said when she told David Crapper, 38, "no" he became angry and accused her of "leading him on" and told her he could be put in prison. He told her to sit on his lap, that he "got hard" while cuddling her and she saw him touching himself. He later touched her and made her touch him, and showed her pornography.
The victim said: "I was confused by what he was saying and felt disgusted." The abuse escalated to David Crapper raping the victim and this happened repeatedly. David Crapper later told his wife about the abuse, who and "wanted to join in too."
Kim Crapper, 39, started to sexually abuse the victim by touching her, was present when David Crapper raped the victim and had sex with her husband in front of the victim.
The Crappers were arrested by police after the victim reported the couple. David Crapper admitted raping and sexually abusing the victim. Kim Crapper also admitted abusing the victim. The defendants, of Queen Street, pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child under 13, sexual assault, cause/incite a child to engage in sexual activity, and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. David Crapper also pleaded guilty to rape and causing a child to watch a sexual act.
Susan Ferrier, for David Crapper, said there was "little" to say in mitigation for her client. She said he had admitted the offences and had prevented the victim from having to give evidence. She said Crapper had "fallen into distorted thinking patterns" and would have found it difficult to "call time" on the abuse had the victim not contacted the police.
Ruth Smith, for Kim Crapper, said her client was in a "controlling, toxic and abusive relationship" and felt "powerless and helpless". She said Crapper was manipulated by her husband who "drew her" into committing the abuse. She conceded that the victim would "never get over" the actions of the defendants.
Judge Wynn Morgan said the physical harm caused to the victim was "incalculable" and both the defendants had "failed to exhibit true remorse". He sentenced David Crapper to 17 years imprisonment, with an extended four years on licence. Kim Crapper was sentenced to six years imprisonment, with an extended licence of three years. Both will serve two thirds of their sentence before being considered for parole. The defendants were made subject to sex offender notification requirements and a sexual harm prevention order indefinitely.
