A man from Swansea has been jailed after he was found guilty of rape.

35-year-old Yogesh Parmar, from Mount Pleasant, pleaded not guilty to the offence but was found guilty on January 26.

Parmar was also found guilty of engaging in coercive/controlling behaviour, having also pleaded not guilty to this offence.

He has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Detective Constable Lauren Williams said:

“Yogesh Parmar raped his victim and also made her fear that he would be violent towards her on multiple occasions. He physically assaulted her, prevented her from leaving his home and also threatened to destroy her property.

“This was a harrowing ordeal for the victim, who we commend for her bravery in coming forward and reporting Yogesh Parmar’s crimes.

“We hope that with this verdict and sentencing, the victim can now finally come to terms with what Yogesh Parmar did to her, and move on with her life, free from fear of what he would do next.”

A man from Swansea has been jailed after he took part in sexual communication with who he believed were three underage girls.

43-year-old Adrian Fine, from the city centre, sent sexual messages to three online accounts in March of 2025. The accounts were in fact decoys being run by a ‘paedophile hunter’ group.

After pleading guilty to three counts of attempted sexual communications with a child, Fine has been sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Detective Constable Kelly Hurley said:

“Adrian Fine was fully of the belief that the accounts he was messaging belonged to children.

“It remains staggering that there are people like Fine out there who will be told that they are talking to a child and yet still persist in attempting to have a sexual conversation.

“He is clearly a threat to children and so it is therefore only right that he is going to prison.”

A man from Swansea has been jailed after pleading guilty to a number of offences, including sexual assault.

34-year-old Nathan Bantick, from Mount Pleasant, also pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident which took a place on The Kingsway in the city centre on November 26 last year.

The sexual assault charge pertained to sexual touching of a woman without her consent.

Bantick has been sentenced to twelve months in prison.

Detective Constable Ben Evans said:

“Nobody should go on a night out anywhere and expect to be on the receiving end of unwanted and inappropriate touching.

“Nathan Bantick’s actions on the night in question were unacceptable and go to show that this behaviour is serious enough to likely result in a prison sentence.

“We commend the victim for coming forward to report the incident.”

Ammanford teen sentenced for raping 12-year-old girl

A teenager has been sentenced to three years and six months in a young offender’s institution after pleading guilty to raping a 12-year-old.

Jake Richards, aged 19, of Garnswllt, admitted to raping the girl when he was 17 years old after the pair had chatted on Snapchat before meeting in real life.

The victim reported the offence to police in August 2024 after disclosing what had happened to a friend. She told officers she had met Richards, and that they walked to a secluded tunnel where she thought they were going to talk. While in the tunnel, Richards instigated sex, and continued after she had told him no several times.

Following a lengthy investigation, which included forensic and digital enquiries, Richards was charged with rape. He admitted the offence when he appeared at Swansea Crown Court.

Today, Wednesday, January 21, he was sentenced to three years and six months in a young offender’s institution

Detective Sergeant Carl Pocock, of Dyfed-Powys Police, said:

“Firstly, I would like to commend the victim, who was just 12 years old when this offence happened, for her courage in coming forward to report this offence, and for her cooperation during the subsequent investigation.

“Rape, or any form of sexual abuse, is not easy to talk about, and especially at such a young age this must have been incredibly daunting for her.

“Despite facing someone five years older than her, she took the correct steps in saying no when she was not comfortable with the situation, pleading with Richard to stop. He, however, continued regardless to satisfy his own needs.

“She continued to show her bravery when she spoke out about the offence, first with a friend and subsequently by reporting it to police to ensure action could be taken.

“Our specialist staff explored the victim’s account thoroughly, and were able to help prove the case through DNA and digital forensic evidence. The strength of this evidence undoubtedly resulted in this early guilty plea, and spared the victim the additional trauma of the case going to trial.

“I feel it is important to highlight that the victim of this case could not provide consent due to her age, and that this case highlights the vital importance of having conversations about staying safe online, the law and consent with young people. This includes how to give consent, how not to assume consent, and what to do if someone continues with sexual activity despite a lack of consent.

“I also hope this case demonstrates that our specialist officers will listen to, support and seek justice for victims of all ages who may be subject to sexual abuse.”

A man from Swansea has been handed a ten-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to multiple child sex offences.

25-year-old Jack Barrett, from Waunarlwydd, began chatting with the child victim online before encouraging them to carry out sexual acts. The victim is not from the South Wales Police area and so had no in-person interaction with Barrett.

Barrett pleaded guilty to the following charges:

• Two counts of cause/incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity
• One count of causing a child aged 13 to 15 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity
• One count of engaging in sexual communication with a child
• One count of breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO)

Barrett has been handed an extended sentence of 10 years in prison.

Detective Constable Gemma McLean said: 

“Jack Barrett used online communication platforms to take advantage of a child, knowing that they were underage. He did this knowing what he was doing was wrong. 

“This investigation, conducted alongside another police force, uncovered the scale of Barrett’s offending, and the significant sentence that has been handed down today shows just how depraved his actions have been.

“He is fully deserving of a lengthy spell in prison. This sentence should be seen as an emphatic deterrent, and we encourage anyone who is a victim of online sexual abuse to come forward and help us bring the perpetrators to justice.”

A man who committed a string of sexual offences has been jailed following a South Wales Police investigation.

Nicholas O’Connor, aged 35, of Cwmrhydyceirw, has been sentenced for two years after he was found guilty of several sexual offences.

O’Connor appeared at Swansea Crown Court today (December 19), to be sentenced for the following convictions:

Seven counts of Exposure
One count of Attempt sexual assault
Four counts of Sexual assault

During a trial at Swansea Crown Court, it was heard that, between September 21 2024, and October 23 2024, O’Connor exposed himself to nine different women in the Swansea and Merthyr Tydfil areas. Of these women, he also sexually assaulted two, with a further attempt sexual assault of one of those women.

While O’Connor pleaded not guilty at court, he was found guilty of twelve sexual offences.

Detective Constable Rebecca Brain said:

“I would like to say thank you to all of the victims who came forward and reported O’Connor’s actions to us. Each report has helped to demonstrate a serious pattern of offending, which has resulted in today’s sentence.

“O’Connor tried to blame his actions on a medical condition and refused to take accountability for his predatory actions. I hope his sentencing today helps the victims to move forward.”

A man from Swansea has been jailed after he was found guilty of the rape of an underage girl.

48-year-old Lukman Oyofo, from the city centre, pleaded not guilty to the offence, with the incident having taken place at his flat on December 6 2024. However, he did admit under interview that he had had sexual intercourse with the victim, insisting that this was consensual.

Oyofo was also found guilty of assaulting a female aged 13 and over by penetration. He pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a female for offences which took place on November 24 and November 30 2024.

He has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

Detective Constable Rabaiotti said: 

“Lukman Oyofo was under no illusion that the acts he carried out upon a child were illegal, yet he did so anyway.

“The victim was unable to give her consent due to being underage. Oyofo exploited a power imbalance and thrived off it, doing so on multiple occasions.

“We commend the bravery of the victim who, by sharing what Oyofo would done, helped to secure this conviction and sentence.”

A man from Swansea has been handed an extended 30-year prison sentence after being found guilty of a significant number of child sex offences.

36-year-old Adam Davies, from Hafod, committed these offences against multiple victims over a period spanning numerous years.

In July 2023, one of Davies’ victims made an allegation that she was sexually assaulted by Davies when she was younger. The offences against this victim and a second victim took place over a number of years. Both girls were under 13 at the time of the abuse.

As part of the investigation into this allegation, Davies’s devices were seized and Category A, B and C child sexual abuse images were located on his laptop.

In April 2025, a male victim also disclosed that he was sexually abused by Davies between the ages of 6-8.

Davies pleaded not guilty to a long list of offences, but was ultimately found guilty in court of:

• Rape of a child under 13 (four counts)
• Assault of a child under 13 by penetration (two counts)
• Sexual assault of a child under 13 (seven counts)
• Sexual assault (two counts)
• Sexual activity with a child (one count)
• Causing/inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity (two counts)
• Possession of indecent photographs of a child - category A, B and C (three counts)

Davies has been handed a 30-year extended jail sentence, of which 26 years will be spent in custody. He will serve a minimum of 18 years.

He will be a registered sex offender for life and is subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Detective Constable Stacey Jones said:

“Adam Davies’s offending is some of the worst of its kind we have seen in Swansea. He disgustingly took advantage of multiple children to act out vile acts for his own depraved sexual pleasure.

“He is of an immeasurable danger to children, and the streets are far safer for young people now that he has been sent to prison for a hugely significant sentence. He showed no remorse and took no responsibility for what he has done.

“Adam Davies did not give one thought to how his offending would affect his victims’ lives, both mentally and physically. We pay tribute to the immense bravery of the victims who have come forward, and hope that they are now able to move on with their lives safe in the knowledge that Adam Davies cannot access them anymore.”

A man from Swansea has been jailed after committing child sex offences.

Mohammed Raihan, aged 22, from Swansea city centre, committed several sexual offences against a teenage victim in July 2024.

Raihan later contacted the victim to threaten her to drop the proceedings and her complaint against him.

Raihan pleaded not guilty to all charges but on June 30 he was found guilty of:

• two counts of rape a girl aged 13 / 14 / 15
• one count of sexual assault on a female
• one count of intimidate a witness / juror
• one count of make indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child (Cat A)
• one count of make indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child (Cat B)
• one count of make indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child (Cat C)

He was remanded into custody and on November 4, he was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court to 15 years in prison.

Detective Constable Mark Wells said:

“It is critical at this time is to recognise the courage of the young victim in this investigation. My hope is that they are able to move forward from this in a positive way and gain some form of closure.

"This investigation was complex and protracted and I would like to thank the diverse team of investigators and detectives that have dedicated their time to diligently progress the investigation. It is also important to recognise the hard work of partner agencies in supporting this young victim along the way.

“During his trial Mohammed Raihan demonstrated no regret or remorse but recognised that the victim was vulnerable. The fact that he went on to exploit these vulnerabilities in the worst possible way, is hard to comprehend.

“If you experience a crime of this kind, we urge you to report it to the police as soon as possible. You will be supported, and officers will treat all reports with sensitivity and professionalism.”

A man from Neath Port Talbot has been jailed after pleading guilty to possessing indecent images of children.

26-year-old Darren Rogers, from Alltwen, uploaded one Category A indecent video of a child to his Snapchat account in January 2024. Officers arrested Rogers at his home address, before further child sexual abuse material was found on devices belonging to him.

Rogers pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child, one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child, and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image showing sexual activity involving an animal.

He also pleaded guilty to seven counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child and one count each of distributing an indecent photograph of a child and causing a child to look at an image of sexual activity.

He has been sentenced to two years and two months in prison. He has also been made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for a period of ten years.

Detective Constable Adam Staniforth said:

“Darren Rogers was in possession of incredibly depraved material, and he knew this to be illegal.

“Rogers was using Snapchat to view and share this material, and it is fortunate that this came to light before his offending escalated any further.

“He was exploiting vulnerable children for his own sexual gratification, and he is now embarking on a deserved spell in prison as a result.

“As a force, South Wales Police will leave no stone unturned in the protection and safeguarding of children.”

A man from Swansea has been jailed after he pleaded guilty to the rape and sexual assault of a male victim.

41-year-old Johnathan Jones, from Sketty, took his vulnerable victim into a pub toilet cubicle and when the victim tried to push him away, Jones attempted to offer the victim money in order to continue.

After the victim reported this to police, Jones was arrested the same day.

After initially claiming the sexual activity was consensual, Jones pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, as well as further counts of sexual assault and assault by penetration.

Jones has been handed a custodial term of nine years with an extension period of four years, meaning a total custodial period of 13 years.

Detective Constable Rabaiotti said:

“Johnathan Jones took advantage of a vulnerable man in the most depraved way.

“This was not the first time Jones has committed a sexual offence. This was a pattern of behaviour following previous offences, but this case was aggravated by the fact Jones knew the victim was particularly vulnerable.

“I commend the victim on their bravery in coming forward. This was a difficult investigation, but the result is that a very dangerous man has been removed from the streets for a significant period of time.”

A man from Swansea has been jailed after being found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault.

71-year-old Stewart Read, from Gorseinon, intentionally touched two separate victims on multiple occasions.

He was ultimately found guilty of nine counts of sexual assault on a female victim.

Read has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

Detective Constable Sarah Cook said:

“Stewart Read is clearly an incredibly dangerous man who repeatedly lays his hands on women in a sexual manner without their consent.

“He obviously derived a sick pleasure from what he was doing, and his not guilty pleas show that there is absolutely no remorse in him.

“It is absolutely right that he spends multiple years in prison.

“The victims have shown great courage and resilience throughout this process, and I want to thank them for coming forward and helping South Wales Police to put a dangerous individual in prison.”

A man from Swansea has been jailed after pleading guilty to child sexual abuse.
 
54-year-old Abdul Kadir, from Penlan, committed offences against two victims which ranged from sexual touching to penetration over a period of time from October 2024 to January 2025.
 
Kadir pleaded guilty to all seven charges put to him on June 9. The offences included three counts of rape and four counts of assault by touching.
 
He has today been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Detective Constable Angharad Sanders said:

“Abdul Kadir is a depraved individual who subjected two children to some of the most horrific sexual crimes imaginable.
 
“It is impossible to imagine the level of lasting impact that Kadir’s actions will have upon the children and their life going forward.
 
“We are so pleased that he will no longer be on the streets to pose a threat to children for years to come.”

A man from Swansea has been jailed after he pleaded guilty to three counts of rape and other offences involving four female victims.

28-year-old Jamil Ahmed, from Clydach, raped one of the victims after making threats of violence should she not have complied with his wishes.

Ahmed changed his plea for one count each of rape and controlling and coercive behaviour from not guilty to guilty in July.

He has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, with an extension period of eight years, to run concurrently.

Detective Constable Judith Williams said:

“Jamil Ahmed filled his victims with terror through his violent outbursts and threats which left them feeling like they had no option but to go along with his predatory demands.

“This was not something which happened on just one occasion. This was a prolonged pattern of behaviour, and that has played a huge part in achieving the extended sentence with which he has been served today.

“We applaud the victims for their bravery in coming forward, and hope they can begin to move on with their lives now that Jamil Ahmed will no longer be a part of them.

“To anyone else suffering, or who has been the victim of a sexual offence: please report it. Our team of specially-trained officers will be able to support you.”

A man in his 40s pulled his trousers down and pleasured himself near a children's play area in a popular park, a court has heard. Police then found Daniel Thyer had been "grooming" a young boy with gifts of vapes and energy drinks.

Sending the defendant to prison, a judge at Swansea Crown Court said he had engaged in "predatory sexual behaviour" with the child. Georgia Donohue, prosecuting, told the court that on February 26 this year a woman walking through Swansea's Morriston Park saw a man sitting on a grass bank near a children's play area with his trousers around his ankles.

She said the man was seen holding his mobile phone with one hand and masturbating with the other. The court heard there were no children in the play area at the time but the woman did see two teenage boys cycling near the defendant.

The barrister said the woman was "disgusted" at Thyer's behaviour and called the police. Officers arrived at the park and arrested the 41-year-old defendant who said he was there to meet somebody, and he said he had been "adjusting his trousers". 

The court heard that when officers examined the defendant's phone they found he had been in contact with a boy and in messages between the two had talked about masturbation.

Officers identified and located the child and spoke to him, and the boy disclosed a series of incidents when Thyer had put his hands down his trousers, pushed his erect penis into him from behind over his clothes, and had touched his bottom. The child also said the defendant had given him vapes, money and energy drinks.

In a victim statement read to the court by the prosecutor, the defendant said he now suffers with sleepless nights and feels "uncomfortable" around grown men, and he said he "keeps himself to himself" at school.

Daniel James Thyer - also known as Daniel David - of Brangwyn Close, Morriston, had previously pleaded guilty to exposure, four counts of sexual activity with a child, and one count of sexual activity with a child when he appeared in the dock for sentencing. He has no previous convictions.

Charlotte Surley, for Thyer, said the defendant had learning difficulties and a pre-sentence report outlined that he may have an "emotional congruence" with children.

Judge Huw Rees said there was "clear evidence of grooming behaviour" in the offending and said the defendant had engaged in "predatory sexual behaviour".

With a one-third discount for his guilty pleas, Thyer was sentenced to 12 months in prison. He was also made the subject of a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and will be a registered sex offender for the same length of time.
