Prosecutor Andy Houston told Southampton Crown Court Scott Chapman then took her by taxi to her foster mother's home.

The girl, who had been reported as missing, told police she needed the morning-after pill.

The girl posted herself on the network site as being 17 but when she met Chapman, told him she was 15. She was really only 12.

Chapman, 18, of Manor Farm Road, Bitterne Park, Southampton, admitted two counts of rape of a girl under 13 and one count of assault by penetration.

Judge Derwin Hope also placed Chapman, who had five previous convictions, on the sex offenders register for ten years.

A Southampton staff nurse who sparked an international search over fears that he had contracted malaria during a drugs trial was detained under the Mental Health Act today for sexually assaulting a waitress. Matthew Lloyd, 36, sparked the appeal in October 2010 when he failed to keep an appointment in Oxford for the trial. There were fears he would die unless he received medical care. Last September, a jury at Southampton Crown Court took just 50 minutes to find him guilty of the assault on the woman, then aged 20, on August 21 2010 as she walked home in Southampton. He was also found guilty of common assault on the same woman. At the time of his disappearance, Lloyd had been arrested over the incident but not charged. He was found in Holland, came back to the UK and he did not contract the disease. Southampton Crown Court heard today that Lloyd was suffering from schizophrenia and would require long-term care. Judge Susan Evans QC sentenced Lloyd to a hospital order and also an unlimited restriction order over concerns that he was a danger to the public. He was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life. ''Your victim was clearly vulnerable... She thought she was going to be raped by you,'' the judge told Lloyd. ''You are in a state of complete denial about what you have done and that is of concern to this court. ''Because of the nature of the offence and the risk of you committing further offences when set at large, I take the view that it's necessary for the protection of the public from serious harm to make a restriction order.'' During the three-day trial, the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said a smiling stranger grabbed her bottom hard as she walked in Southampton city centre. The woman told the jury she pressed her fingers into his windpipe to try to fight him off as he continued to assault her sexually. She said the only thing he said was: ''How are you doing?'' Later she ran into Lloyd, who tried to attack her again but she fended him off and got home. ''Both times he was smiling,'' she said. ''He enjoyed me being in fear.'' The court heard she called the police the same day and picked Lloyd out of identification photographs but Lloyd, who is from Southampton, denied to police he was the attacker. Lloyd was working at Southampton General Hospital in the infectious disease ward at the time of the attack.

POLICE overheard a prostitute pleading with a drunken punter not to harm her after she had dialled 999. The woman was working on the street when she was approached by Derry Gilfoy who agreed to pay 40 for her services, and they went to the nearby car park of a motor cycle dealership. But Southampton Crown Court heard that Gilfoy, who had been drinking heavily, became violent, shouting and swearing at her before slapping her across the face. He then told the woman that as a working girl she would do as she was told, forcing her to the ground and hitting her. Prosecutor Kate Freemantle said the heroin addict however managed to dial 999 on her mobile phone she had hidden down her top and they could hear her, crying, screaming and pleading with him to get off her. Afterwards Gilfoy went home where he collapsed on the sofa before going to bed. He was trapped by DNA left on her scarf. Gilfoy, 36, of Rowan Close, Southampton, admitted rape, assault by penetration and possessing cannabis which was found at his home after his arrest. Jailing him for five years, Judge Patrick Hooton told him: You treated this woman, prostitute or not, appallingly badly. You humiliated her. In mitigation, Richard Onslow was remorseful and had saved the woman from the ordeal of having to give evidence. He must live with what he has done for a very long for what was cheap sexual gratification. He has ruined his life and that of his family. Gilfoy was also placed on the sex offenders register for life.

He billed himself as a “special guy” and lavished a young girl with attention and affection.

Within just a few weeks, through endless conversations over the Internet, he had told the 13-year-old how much he cared for her and even convinced her they should meet. But behind the façade, the man she thought had become her boyfriend was in fact a 29- year-old paedophile grooming her for sex.

Depraved Robert Ive is today starting a four-year jail term after luring the vulnerable girl into his clutches and having under-age sex with her on three occasions.

It’s thought the girl, who had been bullied at school and “sought solace” in her laptop computer, had only been in contact with him for a matter of months, if not weeks, before she succumbed to his charm.

It’s not the first time Ive has been hauled before the courts for sickening behaviour with a child, having previously been convicted of sexually touching a ten-year-old girl he approached in a swimming pool.

At Southampton Crown Court he was described as “a real danger to young children”.

Judge Tom Longbotham told Ive, who pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child aged 13-18, his conduct had been predatory.

He said: “You identified her and you had sex with her. It seems that was the only reason to contact her. You took every opportunity to have sex with her.”

Ive’s behaviour – thought to be the first Facebook grooming case in Hampshire – was only uncovered by detectives when a hunt was launched for the 13-year-old who had vanished from her Southampton home.

Some 30 police officers were involved in the search, after she stormed out of her house following a family row over who she was contacting on social networking sites.

The girl, who cannot be identified, then rang Ive who picked her up and took her to his north Hampshire home to spend the night.

Her disappearance sparked a major investigation involving specialist units examining her phone and computer to see who she was in contact with.

The girl’s mother also made desperate attempts to contact her daughter before Ive drove her back to the outskirts of the city the following morning and left her to make her own way home. She then revealed how she had been having sex at Ive’s instigation, at her home when her mother was asleep, as well as at his rented bedsit in Cambridge Road, Farnborough.

Ive told her he was 26 and though she warned him she was 13, he reassured her: “Age doesn’t matter.” Before his capture, Ive, who worked as a cloakroom attendant in Yates’ Wine Lodge, was spending hours online.

He used Facebook – under the guise of “special guy” although he never showed his picture or gave his real name – and also MSN, where he nicknamed himself “kute_guy69” and somehow befriended the girl.

Detectives believe Ive could have more victims across the country and say investigations are continuing to determine if he has been in contact with other schoolgirls on his computer.

He is now behind bars and has been banned from working with under-age girls in the future, and placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.

But the case is one that will shock parents and raises the question of just how safe children are on the Internet, and what can be done to protect them? Ive’s conviction comes as Facebook has unveiled plans to transform its privacy settings, making it easier for members to stop their personal information being viewed by people they don’t know.

Detective Inspector Simon Baker, who led the investigation, said: “Children want to grow up so quickly now and some girls in their early teens can have a tendency to think they are older and more independent than they really are.

“They think they know their minds, that their parents don’t know what’s best for them and they go off on their own. They don’t realise they are incredibly vulnerable in these situations and there are people out there who will take advantage.

“The method of choice for paedophiles wanting to engage with young females is through the Internet.

“They can hide their true identify and make false promises to their potential victims, making them believe that they love them, care for them and will look after them. These men will say anything to try and gain the trust of those they are conversing with, all the time hiding their true intentions.”

A spokeswoman for Facebook said: “We are deeply concerned by both the crimes committed by Robert Ive and his determination to groom young people online. We have co-operated with the police in this matter and disabled his profile when this came to light, and will continue to work with them in any ongoing investigation.

“This case serves as a reminder that all Internet users must use extreme caution when talking to or meeting people they only know via the Internet.

“Facebook’s top priority is to maintain and improve safety for our users.

“Educating young people about safety online is vital and that is why we recently launched the UK’s biggest campaign on this issue. This involves a £5m initiative aimed solely at teaching young people to take responsible decisions online.”

He pleaded guilty to six counts of indecent assault, four of those counts related to offences committed between 1980 and 1985 against his cousin, then a girl aged from 7 to 11 years. The indictment asserted that she was a girl under the age of 13 which was then of relevance to the maximum sentence.

The other two counts related to offences committed between 1988 and 1994 against his niece, when she too was aged from 7 to 12 years old. On 18 June 2010 His Honour Judge Hooton imposed a Community Order with a supervision requirement for three years. A Sexual Offences Prevention Order was imposed to run indefinitely, the precise details of which have no bearing on the Reference. The offender was also made subject to the requirements of the Sex Offenders Register.

A SOUTHAMPTON club promoter forced two women to strip to their underwear and take part in a sex game before raping one, a court heard.

The prosecution claim however that the woman was not the first to be raped by Reggi Said. About ten years earlier, he had assaulted a naked student asleep on his sofa, it is alleged.

Prosecutor Matthew Jewell told Southampton Crown Court that in 2000 Said met the student who was a dancer.

They and a friend of his went back to his flat where she wound up naked after having sex with the other man.

After he had gone into the kitchen, she fell asleep and then woke to find someone having sex with her and then realised Said was on top of her.

Mr Jewell said that in 2005, he assaulted another dancer, who he had known for a couple of years.

One night she got into his car and after being plied with alcohol, went back to what she thought was his flat, where she saw him taking lines of cocaine. She woke up naked in his bed and he told her how she had wanted to party with him and had taken two grams of coke.

In interview, he told police that on both occasions there had been sex stopping short of intercourse, which was fully consensual. On neither occasion was he prosecuted.

Mr Jewell said that last February, he threatened two women unless they took cocaine at his flat where they had a substantial amount to drink and took part in a truth or dare game.

After one had fallen asleep, he took the second girl into his room on the pretext of talking about work but there he removed her underwear and had sex with her.

In a prepared statement, he said the women had helped themselves to the drugs and sex had been consensual. I am shocked by the allegations. I have not done anything wrong.

Sex offender could live in the same road as victim

A TEENAGE girl who was the victim of a frightening sex offence in her own home is terrified that her attacker may soon be moving into a house just doors away when he is released from prison.

Daniel Oliver, 21, is serving a four month prison sentence for sexually touching the girl, who cannot be named, at her Southampton home last December.

He had already been jailed for three years for attempting to rape a woman in a garage in 2006 and was on licence from a young offenders’ institution when he carried out the latest offence on the young girl.

Oliver – who has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life – pleaded guilty to kissing the girl on the lips and putting his hand near her breasts as he embraced her...

'Don’t offend sex attacker' said police, claims victim's mother

A MUM who launched an online petition to stop her daughter’s sex attacker from moving into her street says she has been asked to remove it in case it “offends” the attacker.

The woman, whose 15-year-old daughter was the victim of a sex offence in her own home, has collected more than 200 signatures protesting against Daniel Oliver living nearby when he is released from prison.

Police have confirmed they have made the request to the victim’s family, but said they did so to avoid causing further tensions in the wider community.

Oliver, 21, was sentenced to four months in prison for sexually touching the young girl, who cannot be named, last December.

Attack victim speaks out as attacker is freed to live nearby

A WOMAN who was subjected to a terrifying sex ordeal two years ago has discovered her attacker will be released from prison today - and will be living just minutes away from her home.

Mum-of-two Christina Noller, 42, was bundled into a garage and sexually assaulted by teenager Daniel Oliver in April 2006.

Oliver was 19 when he attempted to rape her, leaving her with cuts and emotional scars she is still struggling to overcome.

Now Christina is furious that Oliver will be leaving prison after just 18 months of a three-year sentence and living just a short walk from her Swaythling home.

She is "fuming" at police suggestions that she move house to avoid her attacker and cannot believe she was given just 24 hours' notice that he would be living just down the road...

A PREGNANT mother has been found guilty of sexually abusing children in her Southampton flat.

Now, Clair Winkworth, who has a three-year-old daughter, faces jail.

She was convicted yesterday of eight charges involving two boys and two girls after tempting them into sex games.

Remanding her in custody for reports, Judge John Boggis QC told her: This court has had to listen to the most disgusting things you did to these children.

They were truly awful. You can expect a custodial sentence.

Fair-haired Winkworth, wearing a blue tracksuit with yellow stripes on the sleeves, clenched her fist and grinned when jurors unanimously acquitted of her of sexually assaulting one boy who claimed he had had intercourse with her.

She threw back her head and sat open mouthed when the jury foreman announced the first of the guilty verdicts but then showed no emotion when she was convicted of the remainder on 10-2 majority verdicts.

Jurors had retired for more than seven hours in deliberation.

Winkworth was arrested following a complaint from the father of one of the children.

During the eight day trial at the city crown court, jurors heard of games involving Truth or Dare and Sex Dice at her Redbridge Towers home.

They led to the youngsters pairing off in to different rooms to commit sex acts. She had also encouraged boys to touch her body.

In one video taped interview with a police officer conducted in front of his mother, a boy described how the girls and Winkworth lap danced in front of him and his best friend when they only had boxer shorts on. The girls were dressed in pyjamas and she sat on the settee dressed in red lacy underwear.

Jurors heard of games played with two dice. One had the words suck, tickle, lick and nibble, and the other was marked with various rooms in the flat.

The youth explained: Say I went first. I rolled it.

Say, it was lick and I had to pick someone.We would have to go there and I have to lick part of her body.

When police searched her flat, they seized a Valentines card and two thongs one of the boys had given her, as well as a sex game and sex toys.

Winkworth was found guilty of seven counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one of having sexual activity with a child.

She denied all the allegations, claiming the children had made up the story as part of a plot so that she would lose custody of her daughter.

After the trial, DC Clair Mason, the officer in the case, told the Echo: This was an unusual case but we take all offences against children seriously and thoroughly investigate them.

A RAPIST and paedophile who used live maggots during a sick attack on a woman is suing police for wrongful arrest, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.

Evil Robin Frampton – also known as Robert Williams, above – is using legal aid to claim £15,000 damages even though he has a string of convictions for depraved sex acts dating back nearly 30 years.

Police arrested the 53-year-old from Hampshire for breaching the terms of the sex offenders’ register when he was visiting North Yorkshire.

Now Frampton’s lawyers say he had not committed any offence and was “humiliated”.

The case has already cost taxpayers £30,000.

A MINISTRY of Defence police officer got his sexual kicks by filming teenage girls and children in the changing rooms of a Hampshire leisure centre. Andrew Rayson, 32, would watch women and children swimming and then following them to changing rooms where he would use his mobile phone to record them. In an adjoining cubicle either through a hole in the wall or putting his arm over the top he would snap his unsuspecting victims, Southampton Crown Court heard. Prosecutor Tim Dracass said Rayson got away with his perverted behaviour for more than three years until January, when he went to Romsey Rapids. A 16-year-old girl had just removed her bikini and was drying her hair when she glanced upwards and was astounded to see an arm and a bald head appear above the wall. She then heard two clicking noises and told her boyfriend what had happened. Rayson was challenged by the manager in the reception area after CCTV footage had been checked, but he refused to show anything on his phone. Rayson drove off but his registration number was noted and it was discovered to be that of a vehicle on hire to the MoD Polices divisional support group at Gosport. It had been logged out to Rayson that day. Rayson told his partner another police officer that he had run over his mobile phone and then got a replacement. The court heard how she later helped police retrieve the phone but its SIM card had been transferred to another model. That and computer equipment was seized in a search of Raysons home and police found other sordid images of other people he had targeted, who were unaware they had been filmed. Mr Dracass said some of the footage lasted a few seconds, others were up to a minute in length. The teenage girl said in an impact statement she had been left upset, embarrassed and sick by the incident, which had affected her sleep. The fact he was a police officer had caused her concern. Rayson admitted ten charges of voyeurism and asked for 20 similar offences to be considered, which involved five girls under 18 and one as young as ten. He was jailed for 20 weeks, placed on the sex offenders register for seven years and banned from working with children. Andy Houston, defending, said: He has lost everything his job, his friends, his partner and his home. He has not spoken to or heard from his partner and has moved back to his family in Nottingham. He needs help and wants to engage in the sex offender group programme which is the best way to protect the public from this sort of behaviour. But passing sentence, Judge Jeremy Burford QC, said only a custodial sentence could be justified and that a community order would not be sufficient.

A former sandwich delivery driver has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 24 years for the rape and murder of 17-year-old Hannah Foster.

Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, 41, a father of two, was found guilty at Winchester crown court today of the A-level student's murder, rape, false imprisonment and kidnap in March 2003.

Kohli shook his head slightly as the jury returned its four unanimous verdicts after five and a half hours of deliberations.

Sentencing him, Justice Keith said his crime was aggravated by "Hannah's vulnerability as a young slip of a girl, the terrible and appalling ordeal which Hannah must have gone through before you killed her, the wanton way you disposed of her body and the unimaginable grief to which you have subjected her family".

He told him: "It took a long time for you to be brought to justice but the law caught up with you in the end.

"The jury saw through your lies and you stand there exposed as a heartless and contemptible man who abducted and raped an attractive 17-year-old girl with everything to live for, and then callously and quite premeditatedly took her life so she would not be able to point the finger of guilt at you."

During the trial, the court heard that Kohli abducted Hannah as she walked down a street yards from her home in Southampton after spending a night out with friends. Terrified, she called 999 hoping an operator would hear what was happening, but the call was terminated when she did not speak.

The jury listened to a recording of the 999 call, in which Kohli was heard to tell Hannah "I want to fuck" before instructing her to keep her head down as his sandwich delivery van travelled out of Southampton.

She was raped in the van before Kohli strangled her when he feared she might identify him. He dumped her body beside a road in West End, Hampshire, and returned home to his wife and sons.

Hannah's body was found on March 16 in brambles off Allington Lane after being spotted by a 14-year-old boy from his mother's car.

Four days after the killing, Kohli fled the country, changing his name and creating a new life for himself in his native India.

Today's verdicts come nearly six years after the killing, during which time Hannah's parents travelled to India four times to put pressure on authorities for Kohli to be extradited.

Hilary and Trevor Foster today paid tribute to their daughter, describing their "overwhelming sense of relief" at the verdict.

Trevor Foster said Kohli had shown "not one iota of remorse for his actions", adding: "Today finally justice has caught up with him."

On the first trip the Fosters made to India, in July 2004, they found Kohli after a national appeal for help, but he fought his extradition for a further three years. He made a filmed confession to an Indian television station that he later retracted, saying it was made against his will.

He said in the confession: "I abducted, raped and killed Hannah Foster. I want to unburden myself and tell the truth (about) what happened that night. I was totally drunk that night. I strangled her and killed her."

Kohli said he had seen Hannah on the night of the murder but had not been stalking her. He claimed he was confessing "because I am already too tired to run here and there".

He was extradited to Britain in July 2007 and claimed he had been abducted, blindfolded and tied up on the night of Hannah's death and forced to have sex with the teenager.

During the trial he painted a picture of himself as a victim of a revenge attack orchestrated by a former colleague. Kohli said he owed the colleague £16,000 and had had an affair with his wife.

The claims were called "absurd" by the prosecution.

DNA belonging to Kohli was found on Hannah, and Hannah's DNA and blood was found in Kohli's van when it was seized. Her mobile phone was tracked moving along the M27 and M275 in Hampshire at the same time Kohli's Transit van was spotted on cameras.

CCTV footage from a garage placed his van three times in the vicinity of Allington Lane in the early hours of March 15 as he disposed of the body.

In a victim impact statement read to the court after the verdicts today, Hannah's mother, Hilary, said she would feel guilt for the rest of her life that she was not there to protect her daughter when she was murdered.

"Kohli ripped out my heart and stamped on it. When Trevor and I saw Hannah in the mortuary, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, there must be some mistake. The cold, battered and bruised body certainly looked like her, but where was the sparkle in her eyes?"

She added: "Our lives have revolved around our two girls, their wellbeing, personal interests and hopes for the future. On March 14 2003, our lives changed forever."

A SERIAL sex offender who preyed on young girls has been jailed for 20 years.

Leslie West, 64, was locked up after being convicted of 15 sexual offences against children, including two counts of rape.

He was led from the dock at Southampton Crown Court with the words of Judge John Boggis QC ringing in his ears.

The judge told him: “At your trial you denied being a dirty old man but that’s exactly what you are – a disgusting, perverted, dirty old man.

“You are a danger to young girls because you won’t control yourself.”

The court heard that West, of Bracklesham Way, Sholing, Southampton, committed two sets of offences that were separated by a gap of 30 years.

Megan Topliss, for West, said the defendant was suffering from a raft of serious health problems, including angina and emphysema, but knew a prison sentence was inevitable.

She added: “My client recognises that a term of imprisonment is the only possible sentence and that it will be a long one.

“He was a man of previous good character.

Beyond that there is little I can say in the light of the jury’s verdicts.”

Miss Topliss said West was remanded in custody following his conviction last month and had begun to experience panic attacks.

She added: “He has become very depressed and is receiving medication.”

Sentencing West, Judge Boggis told him: “I’ve taken into account your age, the fact that you’re not a well man and the effect of a prison sentence on a person of your age.”

The defendant was jailed for ten years for each of the rapes. The two terms will run concurrently.

He was also handed prison sentences for the other 13 offences, which included indecency, sexual assault and causing a child to engage in sexual activity, and was jailed for a total of 20 years.

A HAMPSHIRE teacher who admitted downloading indecent images of children and sexually touching a 16-year-old girl has been spared a jail term.

Michael Page was given a three month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and an 18-month supervision order for touching the girl.

Page, 41, was also given an 18-month supervision order for making and possessing the images.

He was banned from working with children and prohibited from having any unsupervised contact with any girl under 16 except his daughters.

Religious studies teacher Page, of Avon Road, Bitterne Park, Southampton, was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.

Sentencing him at Southampton Crown Court Judge Derwin Hope said Page had abused his position of trust.

He added: “The incident involving the girl was not the most serious of offences, but she was a particularly vulnerable individual and the impact on her life has been particularly severe as a result. She was 16 and you were 40, which further aggravated the situation.”

James Newton-Price, prosecuting, said the victim had become afraid of leaving her house, lost contact with her friends and grew depressed.

Defending, Simon Gruchy,said Page had lost his job and was £30,000 in debt.

“Financially, things have, not surprisingly, taken a turn for the worse as a result of all this,” said Mr Gruchy.

Page, who had no previous convictions, was ordered to pay £1,000 costs and was told that his computer would be confiscated.

A FATHER of two who was branded as a serious danger to teenagers has been jailed for more than seven years.

Peter Williams, 38, targeted boys over the Internet, befriending them to gain their trust and meeting them for sex.

Prosecutor Adam Feest told Southampton Crown Court that there was no suggestion Williams had forced the boys to commit sex acts but they were unsure of their sexuality and were persuaded to do more than they would have otherwise have done.

Williams abused two victims in his bedroom, the court heard. He had also travelled to London to see a 15-year-old boy he had groomed through an Internet chatroom but the youngster refused to answer his texts and the meeting never took place.

In impact statements, one boy said he felt "dirty" while the other said he felt "uncomfortable".

The London teenager said he became "wary" of Williams because of his suggestions.

Southampton Crown Court heard the human resources officer had been jailed for 18 months in December 2005 for offences against a 13-year-old, and it was through that investigation these offences came to light.

When officers went to Williams' home, they seized a computer and discovered he had downloaded more than 450 indecent images of boys.

Williams, of Harcourt Road, Southampton, admitted eight offences of sexual assault, sexual activity with a child, travelling with the intention of meeting a child following sexual grooming, and possessing indecent pictures.

Jailing him for seven years and four months, Judge Jeremy Burford QC referred to the pre-sentence report that assessed him as highly skilled in grooming victims. The probation officer concluded he had minimised the seriousness of his offending, and considered he posed a significant risk of causing serious harm to children, particularly teenage boys.

In mitigation, David Reid said the offences pre-dated the prison sentence and he had not been in trouble for more than three years.

"They were committed at a time his life had turned upside down. His marriage had fallen apart, he had been denied access to his children, and as a means of escape threw himself into the gay world. He accepts he did nothing to check his behaviour."

Following his release from prison, he had made good progress on sex offender treatment programmes. "He has worked hard to rebuild his life.

He has paid off considerable debts and has terminated what was a good job because of the hearing."

In addition to the jail sentence, Williams was placed on the sex offenders register and under the terms of a sex offender prevention order, cannot speak to or communicate with children under 16 except his two children with their mother's consent. He was also banned from using the Internet to contact children under 16 indefinitely.

A FATHER-of-seven convicted of horrific sex offences against a young girl was branded a danger to the public as he began an indefinite sentence behind bars.

Patrick Keogh, 39, was told he would spend a minimum of eight years in jail before he would be considered for parole.

Judge John Boggis QC condemned Keogh, pictured, as "a dangerous predator"who represented a serious risk to young girls.

Jurors heard he had threatened to kill his victim if she told anyone about what he had done.

"These offences are absolutely despicable and the psychological damage to her will be profound and long lasting. Children must be protected from you."

Keogh, of Croydon Close, Lordshill, Southampton, had been convicted at the city crown court on six counts of rape, indecency with a child, sexual assault and inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity.

He denied the offences and the judge said he still contested the convictions, which represented a breach of trust.

In addition to the jail sentence, he was also placed on the sex offenders' register, banned from working with children and told he must not be in the same house with a child under 16 without the prior approval of police.

Keogh had also been committed for sentence for burglary and taking a tipper truck without consent after he got into a compound on a Millbrook trading estate, grabbed the keys as well as a bottle of wine from the site office and drove the vehicle away.

He told police he had intended to drive to London to get drugs but went to his girlfriend's home where he scored.

He was jailed for 18 months for those offences and had a four month suspended sentence activated.

All the sentences run concurrently.

In mitigation, Robert Grey said Keogh had no previous convictions for sex offences and he had been an addict since 1991.
