A taxi driver, Aaron Burnicle, 36, was caught in a police sting after sending explicit messages and images to an online decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl on Kik.
Unaware he was communicating with an undercover officer, Burnicle was arrested by Police Scotland following a cross-border investigation.
During interviews, the father-of-one, who drove primary school children, denied any intent to harm children and became emotional.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court, he admitted to indecent communications with an older child. Evidence showed he accessed Kik over 2,900 times in a month.
Sheriff Liam Murphy deferred sentencing for reports, placed Burnicle on the sex offenders' register, and warned of the seriousness of the offense.
