These are the words of a woman who fell victim to a man who raped, sexually assaulted and psychologically abused two women.

On Thursday, 30 April, Bradley Hughes, 35 (DOB: 14/01/1991), from Woking was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court to 24 years' imprisonment and eight years on extended license following a three week trial, after being found guilty of three counts of rape, one count of coercive and controlling behaviour, one count of stalking and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

In 2022, Hughes carried out a torrent of abuse against one woman. He would threaten and control different aspects of her life.

On the evening of 26 July 2024, Hughes and another woman stayed at a hotel in London for the night. During this visit, Hughes accused the woman of being involved with other men and, on returning to the hotel, made threats to kill her, her friends, and her former partners. When he later returned, he kicked the door multiple times, resulting in damage. The victim stated this caused her immense fear, and she barricaded herself in the bathroom, having to phone hotel security for help.

After that evening, Hughes showed up at the woman's home at multiple times throughout the week uninvited and subjected her to repeated calls and abusive messages.

Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Whibley said:

“This was a deeply distressing case involving two victims who showed considerable strength and courage in coming forward and supporting this investigation.

"Violence of this nature has a lasting impact. Our priority throughout has been to support the victims and ensure their voices were heard. I hope this outcome demonstrates that offences of this nature will be thoroughly investigated and offenders will be brought to justice.”

In a victim impact statement, one woman spoke directly to the offender, stating:

"No one should be in fear of their life or the lives of others. No one should be made to feel the way I’ve felt…And whilst this part ends today, I’ll unfortunately always be left with what you did to me. Those scars run deep but after today you will never look at me again. So, hear me and know that what you did to me doesn’t define me. My strength does."

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for various sex offences in Wokingham.

James Dyer, aged 37, of HMP Five Wells, was sentenced to 18 months in prison at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday (9/7).

He was previously put on the sex offenders register for life.

Dyer pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child, causing a child to watch/look at an image of sexual activity and breaching his Sexual Harm Protection Order.

On 28 February last year, the victims mother checked the victims phone and discovered Instagram messages of a sexual nature from Dyer.

Dyer had also sent the victim videos of himself containing sexual content and voice notes of a sexual nature.

These messages, videos and voice notes were sent to the victim between 2 February and 20 February, last year.

Dyer was already subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order at this time which prohibited him from communicating with a child under 16, which he breached.

He was arrested at a voluntary interview on 8 September last year, whilst already in prison.

Sex offender James Dyer, 34, who also sent teenage girls indecent videos jailed and given restraining order against 'couragous' victims

A man who sent indecent videos including to two teenage girls and tried to drag a woman out of her car after asking her to have sex with him has been jailed.

Thames Valley Police praised the "bravery and courage" of the victims of James Dyer who carried out his sickening offences in Reading.

Police branded Dyer, 34, as someone who "displayed all the hallmarks of a dangerous offender" and said he was "intent on sexual contact with young women and unable to control himself".

At Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, August 25, Dyer of Longs Way, Wokingham, was handed a two years and six months jail sentence after he had previously pleaded guilty to three counts of sending an indecent or grossly offensive electronic communication with intent to cause distress or anxiety, as well as one count each of sexual assault and common assault.

In a statement after the case Thames Valley Police said that in early April this year, Dyer sent videos of "a sexual nature to two teenage girls and a woman in her 20s as well as grossly offensive comments".

Police said on April 16, Dyer opened the door of a parked car in Reading and attempted to drag out the victim, a woman in her 20s "who was sat inside whilst asking her to have sex with him. "

The victim was able to get away.

As well as his jail sentence, Dyer, was also issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which is in place for 10 years.

Restraining orders were also granted against him in relation to his victims which are also in place for 10 years.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Nicola Henderson, based at Reading Police Station, said: At the time of these offences were committed Dyer displayed all the hallmarks of a dangerous offender who was intent on sexual contact with young women and unable to control himself.

He will serve a custodial prison sentence and placed on the sex offenders register which allows for the supervision of him when he is released from prison to help protect the public.
