Description

A convicted child sex offender has been sent back to prison for further offences committed against the same victims.

Nigel Collier, 68, from Hull, was previously sentenced in 2017 to four years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of sexual abuse against two girls. 

Following that conviction, police received additional information which prompted another investigation into further offending.

Detectives gathered new evidence relating to offences that had not been included in the original prosecution.

The investigation and subsequent court case resulted in Collier being convicted of six counts of sexual assault by penetration involving the same two victims.

The offences took place in Plymouth.

Following a five day trial at Plymouth Crown Court, Collier was found guilty on 25 June 2026. He returned to the court and was sentenced to 10 years in prison on 31 July.

Investigating officers have praised the victims for their courage in supporting the renewed investigation, saying the case demonstrated the importance of people continuing to come forward with information, even after a conviction has been secured.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Cheryl Kearton said:

“The bravery shown by the victims throughout this process cannot be overstated.

“Thanks to the further information provided, we were able to build additional evidence and ensure the offender was held accountable for the full extent of his crimes.”

During sentencing, the judge described the offences as extremely serious and said the victims had endured significant and lasting harm as a result of the abuse.

The court was told that the new conviction and sentence reflected the full extent of the offending that had come to light following the original case.

Four men who came forward and reported non-recent sexual abuse against them when they were just children, have watched their perpetrator get sentenced to a total of eighteen years and four months behind bars, and ordered to remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Graham Stephenson, 55-years-old, of Nestor Grove in Hull appeared at Grimsby Crown Court on Monday, 27 July 2026 to be sentenced after he pleaded guilty to two counts of inciting a boy to engage in sexual activity, rape, sexual activity with a child and making indecent photographs of a child. In addition to his custodial sentence, he also received an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Officers received a report from a man in February 2023 disclosing non recent sexual abuse against him when he was a young child.

The case was immediately flagged with our Protecting Vulnerable People Unit; an investigation was launched and officers started obtaining video recorded interviews from the man who had come forward.

Initial enquiries established that Stephenson used money and other forms of manipulation to sexually abuse the vulnerable young boy, with the abuse continuing for around six years, starting when the victim was around 10 years old.

As the investigation progressed, further enquiries identified a second potential victim, who, when approached by officers, disclosed that he had been sexually abused by Stephenson from the age of six, with the offending continuing for approximately nine years.

Stephenson was subsequently arrested in July 2023, and during his interview in custody he denied all offences and any knowledge of what the victims had reported.

Following the arrest, and after both men had told their close ones that they had come forward to the police to explain what Stephenson had subjected them to, a third man, also known to them, then came forward with similar reports of sexual abuse he had been subjected to by Stephenson.

During the investigation, officers also identified a fourth man who had been subjected to sexual behaviour by Stephenson in 2004.

As part of the investigation, Stephenson’s home address was searched by officers, and around 45 devices were seized. Following examination, over 500 illegal images were located on his computer devices, including images of a sexual nature. The evidence further underlined Stephenson’s involvement in the non-recent abuse of the four boys.

Detective Constable Rebecca Davison from our Protecting Vulnerable People Unit said:

“Rape and sexual abuse against boys and men is extremely underreported, and I would like to start by acknowledging and commending the four men for coming forward and reporting what had happened to them as such young children.

“We wouldn’t be here today without the bravery and strength shown by the men throughout the entirety of what has been a very lengthy and complex investigation, but despite everything they had been through they were all still willing to give evidence which has ultimately led us to get some kind of justice for them.

“Stephenson denied all allegations when interviewed and initially pleaded not guilty, only later changing his plea to guilty. The investigation showed a clear pattern of manipulation over many years, where he deliberately used influence and control to facilitate the abuse of these boys.

“We take reports of rape, and other sexual offences, both recent and non-recent, extremely seriously and will continue to seek justice for those who have suffered at the hands of such sordid individuals like Stephenson.

“No matter your age or gender, or whether the offences took place yesterday or 30 years ago, we would encourage you to tell someone you trust and report it to the police.“

A former senior youth worker has been sentenced to five and a half years behind bars after he was found guilty of six counts of sexual offences against multiple children between 2012 and 2022 following a complex investigation by detectives from our Child Sexual Exploitation team (CSE).

Jacob Agnew, 30-years-old, of East Hull, who identifies himself as white British, was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a child, sexual assault, and causing a child to engage in sexual activity, following a 13-day trial at Hull Crown Court which concluded last month (Tuesday, 30 June 2026).

In addition, at an earlier court hearing, Agnew pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child, and fraud.

After appearing at Hull Crown Court for sentencing today (Friday, 24 July 2026), he has also been handed a five-year restraining order against all victims involved and will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Agnew will also be ordered to remain on the barred and disclosure list indefinitely, meaning he will never be able to work in a youth setting ever again.

During the trial, the court heard how Agnew’s offending was committed over a period spanning a decade, between 2012 and 2022, involving seven girls aged between 14 and 17-years-old.

Detective Inspector Tim Hudson from our Child Sexual Exploitation Team, said:

“I would first like to start by commending the immense courage shown by those who came forward and thank them for their support throughout the complexities of this investigation and the court proceedings. Their bravery in speaking to us, and in giving evidence in court, cannot be underestimated.

“Agnew was a senior youth worker who used his position of trust and responsibility to target vulnerable young girls. When concerns were raised, he used his manipulative charm to claim the children were attracted to him, that they were fabricating stories, and that he was the victim.

“In 2022, his employer suspended him whilst investigating a similar complaint from a child. During this suspension, he fraudulently supplied a character reference to gain a position of trust at a school. When his ongoing suspension and this false representation were highlighted, the job offer was rescinded before he could start. This shows his determination to secure a further position of trust which in the past has afforded him the opportunity to offend.

“This has been a complex investigation which has uncovered predatory offending spanning more than a decade, impacting several young girls who have carried the impact of this abuse for years. No sentence will take away their trauma, but I am pleased to say he is now behind bars where he belongs.

“Our Child Sexual Exploitation team have specially trained detectives who will listen, investigate, and continue to ensure offenders like Agnew are brought before the courts.

“It doesn't matter if the offences took place yesterday or 10 years ago — when you are ready to talk to us, we will listen, we will support you, and we will take action.

Two men have been sentenced for multiple sex offences following an appearance at Hull Crown Court today (Monday, 29 June 2026).

David Drury, 40-years-old of Thoresby Street in Hull and a former Humberside Police employee pleaded guilty to the offences at an earlier hearing at Hull Crown Court on Monday, 18 May 2026:

• Six counts of distributing an indecent photograph / pseudo-
• photograph of a child
• Two counts sexual assault on a male
• Sexual assault of a child under 13
• Voyeurism

He has now been sentenced to nine years in prison, handed a sexual harm prevention order, a seven-year restraining order and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Daniel Sellers, 44-years-old of Thoresby Street, Hull, pleaded guilty to the following offences at an earlier hearing at Hull Crown Court on Wednesday, 20 May 2026:

• Two counts of aiding, abetting, counselling, and procuring/aiding and abetting sexual assault on a male
• Arranging and facilitating the commission of a child sex offence

He has now been sentenced to four and a half years in prison, handed a restraining order for five years, a sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

An investigation was first launched into Drury by Humberside Police after we received a third-party report of concerns of inappropriate behaviour. Further police enquiries, including a detailed examination of Drury’s electronic devices by our Digital Forensics Unit took place, in which multiple indecent images of children were recovered, and it became clear that in addition to this, contact sexual offences had also been committed by him. The analysis of the phone data highlighted to Investigating Officers that the offending was aided, facilitated and abetted by his partner Daniel Sellers. Both Drury and Sellers were arrested in July 2024 and interviewed. The offences were found to be committed upon a child victim over a sustained period of time.

Hamdulluh Hamdadd, Rafiullah Naseri, and Amjid Akakhail have been sentenced to a combined total of 20-years behind bars following an investigation into grooming and sexual abuse of a vulnerable 16-year-old girl in Hull.

The men appeared at Hull Crown Court yesterday (Thursday, 25 June 2026) where they were found guilty by a unanimous jury on charges brought against them following an 18-day trial.

Following the verdict, they were sentenced today (Friday, 26 June 2026) at Hull Crown Court.

Hamdulluh Hamdadd, also known as Hamid, 24-years-old, of Park Grove in Hull, an Afghan national who identifies as Arab, was found guilty of intentionally arranging or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child and intentionally obtaining for himself the sexual services of a child between July 2025 and November 2025.

Hamdadd pleaded guilty at an earlier court hearing to possessing an extreme pornographic image and making an indecent photograph of a child.

He was sentenced to eight years behind bars.

Rafiullah Naseri, also known as Shaheen, 20-years-old, of Spring Bank in Hull, an Afghan national who identifies as Arab, was found guilty of intentionally arranging or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child and intentionally obtaining for himself the sexual services of a child between July 2025 and November 2025.

He was sentenced to eight years behind bars.

Amjid Akakhail, 22-years-old, of Pearson Street in Wakefield, an Afghan national who identifies as Arab, was found guilty of intentionally obtaining for himself the sexual services of a child between July 2025 and November 2025.

Akakhail pleaded guilty at an earlier court hearing to making an indecent photograph of a child.

He was sentenced to four years behind bars.

All three men were also made subject to lifetime restraining orders, placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely, and given Sexual Harm Prevention Orders for life.

An investigation was launched by our Child Sexual Exploitation Team after information was reported to police by professionals who had concerns for a child’s welfare. Officers swiftly responded to these concerns and commenced an investigation, identifying that Hamdadd, Naseri and Akakhail were involved in the exploitation of a 16-year-old girl.

The victim first met Hamdadd by chance when they were both customers at a retail premises in Hull. Following this initial encounter, Hamdadd used calculated tactics to build a relationship based on trust and control. Gifts were used to create a powerful sense of obligation, enabling him to isolate and target the victim for sexual exploitation and to introduce her to the other men involved.

All three men targeted the victim, grooming her to gain her trust before exploiting her and subjecting her to repeated sexual abuse at addresses across Hull.

As the investigation developed, officers identified several addresses linked to the suspects, leading to warrants being executed at addresses in Hull and West Yorkshire with the support of partner agencies in December 2025.  These warrants resulted in the arrests of Hamdadd, Naseri, and Akakhail.

Following their arrests, officers worked closely with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to build a compelling case against all three men, and they were subsequently charged and remanded the following day (Thursday, 11 December 2025).

During the trial, jurors were presented with extensive evidence, including witness testimonies, CCTV footage and communication data. This evidence clearly demonstrated the extent of the abuse and the significant impact it had on the victim.

Detective Superintendent Nicole Elliott, who led the investigation, said: 

“This has been a complex and sensitive investigation, with the safety and protection of a vulnerable child and the prevention and disruption of further serious offending at its core.

“This case represents a harrowing example of grooming, manipulation and predatory behaviour by three men who deliberately targeted a vulnerable child.  They offered money, alcohol and drugs, using these tactics to gain control before sexually abusing her for their own gratification.

“The victim has shown remarkable courage and strength in extremely traumatic circumstances. She worked closely with our Child Sexual Exploitation Team and partner agencies to explain the abuse she suffered, and her bravery has been central to bringing these offenders to justice.

“I am incredibly proud of the dedication shown by the investigating officers, who worked tirelessly to build a strong evidential case. I would also like to thank our partner agencies for their support throughout this investigation.

“We take all reports of child sexual exploitation and sexual offending extremely seriously. These crimes have devastating and lifelong consequences, what happened to this victim cannot be undone, but we are committed to ensuring offenders are prosecuted and victims receive justice.

Alex Owers, 46-years-old of Queens Road in Hull, who identifies himself as white British was found guilty of one count of intentional strangulation, two counts of suffocation, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following a trial in August 2025.

However, a second retrial in April 2026, resulted in him also being found guilty of five counts of rape. He has now been sentenced to 21 years behind bars with an additional six years to be served on extended license, has been handed a life-long restraining order, and will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life, following an appearance at Grimsby Crown Court last week (Thursday, 18 June 2026).

An investigation into Owers was first launched when we received a third-party report on Friday, 3 January 2025, that a woman had been suffocated to the point she became unresponsive whilst staying at a hotel in Tunisia. It was described to police how she had a pillow put over her face, strangled and when attempting to escape, was dragged into a room by her hair, hit in the ribs, urinated on and threatened to be thrown from a balcony in an attempt to make her death look non accidental.

Upon his return to the United Kingdom, Owers was arrested by Essex Police at London Stansted Airport.

The woman was met by investigating officers where she disclosed that Owers had repeatedly subjected her to violent sexual assault and raped her multiple times previous to this report. When questioned by police on these allegations, Owers refused to provide comment, and he was subsequently charged and remanded in January 2025.

Speaking upon sentencing the victim said:

“3rd January 2025 was the night my life almost ended at your hands.

“I still feel your hands around my throat and the pillow over my face. You held me against my will and put me through three hours of pure hell and suffering.

That night haunts me to this very day and will forever. I live in constant panic and fear and jump at the slightest noise thinking it’s you coming to finish what you started on that horrific night.

“Even though you’re imprisoned, I barricade all my doors out of fear that you have escaped and will come to kill me.

“I still fear you. I still have flashbacks and still see that terrifying evil look you had in your eyes that night”.

Detective Constable Sam Atkinson leading the investigation said:

“These offences were appalling and deeply violating, the level of abuse and violence Owers subjected a woman to showed complete disregard for her wellbeing, dignity and safety.

“I would like to commend the bravery of the woman coming forward and throughout all the court proceedings whilst Owers refused to admit his actions.

“We take all reports of sexual offences extremely seriously and will continue to seek justice for those who have suffered at the hands of individuals with a propensity to commit such unspeakable crimes like Owers.

“I hope this result reassures our communities that we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting victims of sexual violence and pursuing offenders with determination.

“Our main priority will always be with the victims, giving them a voice and working with partners and other agencies to make them feel supported and safeguarded every step of the way. We also continue to take huge steps to reduce re-offending, deter perpetrators, and above all, keep victims safe.”

A man who attempted to rape and sexually assault a woman in a place she was supposed to feel safe has been given a custodial sentence, handed a seven-year restraining order, and will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Qudus Ajeyemi, 27-years-old, of May Street in Hull, who identifies himself as Nigerian, was found guilty of attempted rape and sexual assault following a week-long trial that concluded at Hull Crown Court on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

He was remanded into custody to await sentencing which took place yesterday (Monday, 15 June 2026), where he was given five years and six months behind bars before being deported upon conclusion of his sentence.

In March 2023, officers received an online report from a woman reporting she had been on a night out a few weeks earlier, and once returning to a property on Tavistock Street in Hull, she was escorted to a room by a man she identified as “Spartan”, whom she had only met briefly once before and did not know his full name.

She disclosed how she thought he was just assisting her by taking her to a friend’s room to rest, thinking he would leave. However, instead, he took advantage of her by touching her, and whilst his advances were rebuffed he proceeded to force himself upon her and attempted to rape her.

She reported that the following day he called the victim to apologise for what he had done, and the victim had recorded this conversation, which was key evidence at the trial.

Detectives from our Protecting Vulnerable People Unit were assigned to investigate the incident, identifying “Spartan” as Qudus Ajeyemi. 

Ajeyemi was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and was interviewed where he denied attempting to rape the victim, despite the recording of his admission being played to him.

Detective Sergeant Ethan Anderson, leading the investigation from our Protecting Vulnerable People Unit added:

“I want to start by commending the woman who came forward and reported what had happened to her; reporting this type of crime is never easy and she has displayed nothing but immense bravery and strength throughout the complex and lengthy process; from reporting the incident through to his sentencing.

“Ajeyemi preyed on the woman, taking advantage of her and attempted to rape her in a space she ought to have been safe in, around friends.

“The trauma and emotional damage he caused will undoubtably stay with her for the rest of her life. The impact of this ordeal was only magnified by Ajeyemi’s refusal to admit what he had done, delaying the outcome for the victim and forcing her to endure a gruelling six-day trial.

“We take all reports of rape and sexual offences extremely seriously and continue to work relentlessly to take offenders like Ajeyemi off our streets.

“Specialist trained officers work closely with partner agencies across our force area to support victims and survivors, alongside aiding in preventing further incidents by putting perpetrators before the courts.

“It does not matter if it happened yesterday, a few weeks ago, or even years ago, our advice to any victim of any sexual offence is to speak to us when you are ready. Whether you tell a trusted adult or a friend, it is important that you tell someone. We will always do everything we can to hold those accountable for such vile crimes.

“Anyone who suspects crimes of this nature are taking place, please report it to us via our non-emergency number 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.”

A ‘sexual predator’ who abused four young vulnerable girls over a number of years has today (Friday, 8 May 2026) been sentenced to seven years in prison and will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Daniel Tranmer, 40-years-old of Nelson Court in Hull, was found guilty of eight counts of sexual touching against a girl under 13 following a nine-day trial at Hull Crown Court which concluded in March 2026.

An investigation was launched in November 2022, when Tranmer was brought to the attention of officers following a third-party report raising concerns for the welfare of a young girl. The girl disclosed that she had been indecently touched by Tranmer on a number of occasions.

After the girl bravely named Tranmer as the one responsible, he was swiftly arrested and during interview, he denied all allegations of any sexual offences and described the incidents as accidental. He was subsequently released on conditional bail whilst enquiries continued.

Whilst detectives continued their extensive enquiries into these two initial reports, a further report emerged relating to non-recent incidents of a similar nature back in 2009. The three victims, who were young girls at the time, reported that they had been subjected to sexual assaults, once again naming Tranmer as the perpetrator.

Following these additional reports, Tranmer was voluntarily interviewed during which he again denied the allegations put to him.

Having stacked up the evidence against him including obtaining witness accounts, Tranmer was charged with eight counts of sexual touching against girls under 13, and one count of sexual touching against a boy under 13.

Leading the investigation was Detective Constable Rebecca Davison from our Protecting Vulnerable People unit, who said:

“I would like to start by commending the bravery of the young victims for reporting the abuse Tranmer had subjected them to.

“I would also like to thank the witnesses and friends of the victims who came forward and were willing to stand in court to give statements.

“Daniel Tranmer is a manipulative sexual predator who exploited and abused vulnerable and impressionable young girls over a number of years.

“Despite repeatedly denying these offences, the bravery and courage shown by the victims throughout the investigation and court proceedings has ensured he is now behind bars where he belongs.

“Whilst this result will not take away the suffering they have endured, I hope today’s sentence and the fact Tranmer will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life provides some level of reassurance that he is now being held accountable for his despicable actions.

“We always treat cases of this nature with the utmost seriousness and sensitivity and would encourage anyone who has experienced recent or non-recent sexual abuse, or anyone who believes someone they know is suffering at the hands of a person like Tranmer, to please tell someone.”

A prolific offender has been jailed for propositioning a child to perform a sexual act at Hull Paragon station, following a British Transport Police (BTP) investigation. 

Ben Puckering, aged 39 and of no fixed abode, was jailed for 18 months at Hull Crown Court on 2 April after pleading guilty to Inciting a Child to Engage in Sexual Activity.

The court heard how on 7 December last year, Puckering, who uses a wheelchair, approached the 14-year-old boy as he passed through the station with friends and propositioned him to perform a sex act in exchange for cash.

The boy, who was visibly terrified and shaken, reported the incident to station security staff who immediately contacted BTP.

Puckering was arrested and refused to answer any questions in interview, only commenting that ‘there would be no witnesses’.

“I would like to commend the victim for the courage and resilience he has shown in reporting Puckering’s crime and supporting our investigation.

“Cases of this nature can have a lasting impact, and I hope the sentence handed to Puckering provides reassurance that he has been held accountable for his actions and will remain off the streets for some time.

“Puckering has a long history of offending in and around the station and this is by no means his first conviction. He now has a long stint behind bars to rethink his disgusting behaviour.

“This case highlights the importance of speaking out – we take every report of sexual offending seriously and will stop at nothing to bring offenders like Puckering to justice.“

Sex offender handed suspended sentence for failing to register address changes

A convicted sex offender was given a suspended prison sentence after repeatedly failing to tell police where he was living.

Joshua Thompson, 31, of Worthing Street, Hull, admitted three offences of failing to notify changes of address on August 21, 27 and December 2.

Prosecutor Michael Masson told Hull Crown Court the breaches occurred over about three-and-a-half months. "It's a persistent breach," he said. "There is no evidence that anyone was put in danger."

Defending, Jazmine Lee said Thompson had given his bail addresses to the court but failed to "take that extra step of going to the police" to register the changes. "He has just not taken that extra step," she said. "The court knew."

The former drug user had "made significant improvements" and "wants to put this behind him. He is at a fork in the road," she added.

Judge John Thackray KC warned: "You have got a bad record, with some serious offences, which put the public at risk." Future breaches would be viewed more seriously.

Thompson, who had spent three months and 12 days in custody on remand, received an 11-month suspended prison sentence with 20 days’ rehabilitation.

A man who preyed on women in their own homes, refused to take no for an answer and proceeded to sexually assault them, has been jailed for four and a half years and will be required to be on extended licence for a further three years.

He has also been handed a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life following his appearance at Hull Crown Court today (Friday, 20 March 2026).

As a result of two investigations conducted by officers from both Humberside Police and North Yorkshire Police, McCaulay Parker, 28-years-old, of Thanet Road in Hull was found guilty following a four-day trial in December 2025 of two counts of sexual assault after he preyed on two vulnerable women in their own homes in the areas of Hull and Skipton in North Yorkshire.

Parker first came to our attention in July 2024, after officers received a report from a woman alleging she had been sexually assaulted by a man named McCaulay Parker.

The woman explained how, posing as a tradesman, Parker had approached the woman asking if she needed any work doing. The woman politely declined, but Parker turned up the next week to undertake the work anyway, first checking whether she was home alone before entering her property.

Within minutes, Parker was making inappropriate comments towards the woman, making her feel uncomfortable before trying to touch her without her consent, and proceeding to sexually assault her.

An investigation was launched, and officers got to work trawling through CCTV from around the area to establish the circumstances, conduct arrest attempts for Parker, and start building evidence against him to eventually secure a charge.

CCTV enquiries showed the predator Parker approaching the woman’s address and luring his way in despite her not consenting.

Parker was subsequently circulated as wanted on Police National Computer (PNC) and he was arrested a few days later at his home address.

Whilst in custody and during interview, Parker denied all allegations put to him and he was subsequently bailed by the courts pending further investigation.

In March 2025, our North Yorkshire Police colleagues then received a report from a woman that a man claiming to be a door-to-door salesman had sexually assaulted her in her own home.

Officers were immediately deployed, and an officer spotted a man nearby matching the description given by the woman, and a man, later identified as Parker, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and transported to custody.

Initial enquiries alerted North Yorkshire Police to Parker as being listed on PNC with regards to his pending prosecution for the incident in Hull, and the two incidents were subsequently linked by the Crown Prosecution Service. After pleading not guilty to both offences, a trial was set for this December. 

Leading the Humberside Police investigation was Police Constable Jessica Holland from our Criminal Investigation Department, who said:

“Parker had exactly the same MO in both cases, where he would prey on lone women, probing them to ensure they were single or home alone, before luring his way into their own home under false pretences, refusing to take no for an answer and then sexually assaulting them.

“No one should be made to feel unsafe in their own home, and what Parker did to these women was not only repulsive, but extremely intrusive. To then deny what he had done and force the two women to sit through a trial and relive what happened to them all over again, is not only inhumane, but spineless.

“In the North Yorkshire case, Parker took it one step further, behaving so nonchalantly and acting like nothing had happened by asking the woman if she wanted to get high with him after what he had just done to her.

“Whilst the sentenced imposed today will not take away what the women have been through because of Parker’s actions, I am pleased he has been held accountable for his crimes and will now be behind bars to reflect on what he has done.

“We take all reports of contact and non-contact sexual offences extremely seriously, and we would encourage anyone who has been a victim of crimes of this nature to please come forward, when you are ready.

“We work with partner agencies and specialist services to offer support throughout the entire judicial process and will do everything we can to ensure perpetrators like Parker are brought to justice.

Detective Constable Amy Sharrad, from North Yorkshire Police's Criminal Investigation Department, added:

"This is a particularly distressing and heinous case whereby Parker acted as a door-to-door salesman in order to prey on lone women in their own homes.

"Our homes are our safe spaces. Instead, Parker invaded their personal, safe space and caused a great deal of trauma in these two random attacks.

"Understandably, this has had a lasting impact on both women. The sentence does not take away what they continue to live with, but hopefully it helps to provide a measure of comfort and strength to move forward with their lives.

"I am pleased the jury saw through Parker's lies, allowing him to be held accountable for his despicable actions.

"I commend both victims for their bravery right through from reporting to enduring the trial. It hasn't just meant securing justice for themselves, but I hope it gives confidence to other victims to come forward, knowing that they will be listened to by the police and the wider criminal justice system will do everything they can to get justice for them."

An online sexual predator who distributed sickening images of children to 374 members of seedy internet groups fell foul of the police when he started exchanging intimate messages with a decoy 13-year-old girl.

Andrew Whitelam boasted in other online chats that young girls "turn me on so much" and he had a large collection of indecent images of children, Hull Crown Court heard.

Whitelam, 39, of Sutton Park, Hull, admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a child to watch or look at sexual activity between April 20 and May 4, 2023. He also admitted distributing and making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornography and possessing prohibited images of children.

Stephen Welch, prosecuting, said that Whitelam exchanged messages online with a decoy 13-year-old girl and he repeatedly sent highly sexualised images and a video of sexual behaviour. He asked for images of the girl and he made it clear that he wanted sexual contact with her.

The police arrested him at his home on July 14, 2023 and seized a mobile phone and other equipment. He had 114 images and 209 videos of children in the most serious Category A as well as 54 images and 86 videos in Category B and 356 images and 42 videos in Category C.

There were 21 prohibited images and one movie of children as well as 11 extreme pornography images of bestiality and 16 videos. A total of 143 images of children, including 49 in Category A, had been distributed to 374 other people in various groups.

Four conversations with girls aged 14, 13 and 11, were discovered, although there were no charges involving these. One chatroom was called "School girls ready to love."

Whitelam said of young girls: "They turn me on so much." Grooming behaviour was used by him. He had no previous convictions.

Catherine Silverton, mitigating, said that Whitelam had completed a course aimed at changing his behaviour and he had paid for a further seven months of treatment. He had "done remarkably well" through the work he had completed and he had made "very considerable progress".

Whitelam had made a clear decision to learn from his past lifestyle. A prison sentence would put him back among drug users and would be "very counter-productive" to his rehabilitation, a course official had said.

The offences were serious:

"He is deeply remorseful," said Miss Silverton. "He is, frankly, horrified by what he has done. He can't fathom how he could, in his words, have sunk to such depths.

"He is in no doubt about the seriousness of his conduct. He is in no doubt that he only has himself to blame. He is disgusted. He is deeply ashamed of his behaviour.

"There has been no repetition in the time since." Whitelam had a drug addiction at the time of the offences but he was now clear of this. He worked as a joiner.

Judge Alexander Menary told Whitelam:

"The offences are so serious, the number and nature of them, that I am simply unable to impose a community order."

Whitelam, who had been on bail, was jailed for two years and five months. He was given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and he must register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Three men who came forward and reported non-recent sexual abuse against them when they were just children, have watched their perpetrator get sentenced to a total of 15 years behind bars, and ordered to remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Following an eight-day trial at Hull Crown Court concluding on Wednesday, 5 February 2026, Martin Tidder, 36-years-old, of Brazil Street in Hull was found guilty of four counts of rape, four counts of assaulting a boy by touching, three counts of causing or inciting a boy under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and two counts of sexual assault of a child.

He was remanded into custody where he appeared at Hull Crown Court today (Friday, 13 February 2026) for sentencing.

We first received a report from a man in December 2021 who wanted to disclose non-recent sexual abuse against him and someone he knew when they were children. He explained how he had been encouraged to come forward now because someone he knew had recently disclosed similar offences, naming Martin Tidder as the one responsible.

The case was immediately flagged with our Protecting Vulnerable People Unit, and a detective immediately launched an investigation and started obtaining video recorded interviews from the man who had come forward.

Initial enquiries established that Tidder would show the man cartoon porn when he was between the ages of 10- and 14-years-old, and on one occasion he was woken up by Tidder sexually assaulting him.

Whilst enquiries into Tidders offending continued, we then received a second report a few weeks later in January 2022, from a man known to the first victim alleging he was raped on a regular basis over around 11 years, starting when he was just 6- or 7-years-old.

After both men had told their close ones they had come forward to the police explaining what Tidder had subjected them to, a third man, also known to them, then came forward with similar reports shortly after.

Tidder was subsequently arrested in February 2022 and whilst being interviewed in custody he denied all offences and any knowledge of what the three men had reported.

Detective Constable Rebecca Davison from our Protecting Vulnerable People Unit said:

“Rape and sexual abuse against boys and men is wildly underreported, and I would like to start by acknowledging and commending the three men for coming forward and reporting what had happened to them as such young children.

“It is never easy to report crimes of this nature, especially as an adult who was subjected to horrific crimes and stripped of innocence at such a young age, but because one of them initially opened up to someone they trusted, this led to a ripple effect of disclosures against Tidder, enabling detectives to build a significant case against him and bring him before the courts, even years after he committed the crimes.”

Speaking after sentencing, one of the men said:

“Martin made me feel complicit without understanding what was happening or why it was bad, and I had to compartmentalise.

“It’s as though I always knew, even then, how wrong it was but without the developed mind and emotional understanding to know how to cope with it.

“Hopefully once this is all settled I can rebuild myself and shape my future to eradicate this black cloud.

“Some men never share their abuse, some reveal it on their deathbed, I want to change that. I want to stand by those boys and tell them it is okay to speak out.

“Lastly, I would also just like to give thanks to my family, my friends, DC Rebecca Davison, the Judge, and most importantly - the jury. I wish I could buy you all a thousand pints.”

Detective Constable Rebecca concludes:

“We wouldn’t be here today without the bravery and strength shown by the men who have not only supported and stuck by each other throughout the entirety of what has been a very lengthy and complex investigation, but despite everything they had been through they were all still willing to give evidence which has ultimately led us to get some kind of justice for them.

“We take reports of rape, and other sexual offences, both recent and non-recent, extremely seriously and will continue to seek justice for those who have suffered at the hands of such sordid individuals like Tidder.

“No matter your age or gender, or whether the offences took place yesterday or 30 years ago, we would encourage you to tell someone you trust and report it to the police.”

A "vulnerable" woman was left shocked, suffering nightmares, and feeling "disgusting" after a "callous" and drug-fueled rape.

She begged the man to stop, but he ignored her and later claimed the attack "didn't happen and couldn't have happened."

The victim cried afterward and felt upset that there was "no hiding from memories," Hull Crown Court heard.

Michael Wilkinson, 30, of Willerby Road, west Hull, but recently in custody, denied rape but was convicted by a jury. He was cleared of another rape charge.

Prosecutor Dale Brook said Wilkinson pushed the woman down and raped her despite her refusal. "She told him to stop but he wouldn't," Mr. Brook said. "Afterwards, she was crying."

In police interviews, Wilkinson claimed consensual sex and denied the rape.

The victim said: "I was in so much pain and he didn't care. I was embarrassed and ashamed and he didn't care. He made me feel like I was nothing, just something for him to use.

"He made me feel disgusting. What he took from me can never be given back. I don't know if I will ever be able to trust anyone again. There is no hiding from memories."

She added: "When I do sleep, I have nightmares about him. The anxiety is overwhelming. Despite everything, I am glad I spoke up. Everyone knows what he is."

Defense lawyer Charlotte Baines said the victim was vulnerable and the act "very unpleasant, to say the least." "I don't diminish that," she added.

Wilkinson had been in custody since proceedings began but previously worked as a groundworker. He was arrested at a probation office while complying well with a prior court order. In prison, he worked and benefited from abstaining from drink and drugs.

Deputy circuit judge Timothy Clayson told Wilkinson: "This was a callous, self-centred act of rape carried out for your sexual gratification. This offence has caused her significant psychological harm.

"Your downfall was drink and, particularly, drugs."

Wilkinson was jailed for eight years, must register as a sex offender, and received an indefinite restraining order.
