A convicted terrorist who made a chemical weapon has appeared back in court for failing to comply with a notification order, drugs offences and possessing "disturbing" child abuse images.

Ian Davison - who also goes by Ian Deleney - was caged for 44 months after pleading guilty to the following offences in 2023:

• Five counts of failing to comply with requirements under his 10-year Part 4 Notification order, contrary to the Counter Terrorism Act 2008
• Produce a Class B drug (Cannabis), contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971
• Possess with intent to supply a Class B drug (Cannabis), contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971

As part of a separate investigation led by Cleveland Police, the 55-year-old was also convicted of three counts of indecent images of children, contrary to the Protection of Children Act 1978, and one count of possession of prohibited images of a child, contrary to the Coroners and Justice Act 2009. The Longhirst, Middlesbrough defendant is now a registered sex offender and will be subject to a 10-Year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

In May 2010, Davison was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for producing a chemical weapon, preparing acts of terrorism, three counts of possessing material useful to commit acts of terror and one count of possessing a prohibited weapon. When arrested in 2009, searches at his home address found he had manufactured Ricin, which was found in a jar in his kitchen.

Detective Constable Dave Medd from the Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT) at Cleveland Police said: “This was one of the worst cases I have dealt with due to the disturbing nature of the images. The victims in these images suffer horrendous ordeals, and as a force we’re committed to doing everything possible to bring those who access such images to justice.”

Head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East, Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley said: “Those subject to notification orders are strictly monitored, and breaches of any kind are taken extremely seriously and will be prosecuted. We continue to work tirelessly alongside our partners to identify any further offending and ensure that individuals are brought to justice.”

A Teesside paedophile who 'preyed upon and exploited the vulnerability of children' has been jailed.

Kaye Little, also known as Kia Little, of High Street in Boosbeck, East Cleveland, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court for offences including sexual activity with a child, malicious communications and the possession/distribution of indecent images of children. The pervert was living in Boosbeck at the time of the offending, which took place between 2015 and 2019. The two male child victims were living in Leeds and were contacted by Little over the internet, reports Yorkshire Live.

The 46-year-old came to the attention of Leeds Children Vulnerable to Exploitation Team officers in 2019 after being identified as a suspect for malicious communication reports.

Subsequent enquiries by the West Yorkshire Police officers led to her becoming a suspect for sexual offences committed against the two males who officers had identified during the investigation. She was arrested in 2019 and was subsequently charged in April 2022. Following a trial in August last year, Little was found guilty by jury for 13 offences.

On Friday she was sentenced to six years for the offences. However, this was extended by three years due to the danger which the court felt Little poses. She received a further nine-months sentence to run concurrently for an offence against an adult male in Cleveland, which was investigated by a separate force.

Leading the investigation, Det Con Khi Smith, formerly of the Leeds Children Vulnerable to Exploitation Team, said: "I am pleased with the sentence handed to Little today for the abhorrent offences she committed. I want to thank the victims not only for their bravery in coming forward to report the offences, but also for their strength throughout the lengthy criminal justice process.

"They were put through the daunting experience of a criminal trial and have shown so much courage and dignity throughout. I hope they can begin to move on with their lives, knowing a level of justice has been served. Little preyed upon and exploited the vulnerability of these children and I hope this serves as a stark reminder that offending of this nature will not be tolerated. Anyone who has suffered similar offences, whether recent or not, is urged to come forward and report them to police.

"You will be listened to, taken seriously and supported by specially trained officers throughout and will also be referred to further help and support if needed. We will do all we can to secure justice for any victim."

An offshore worker went on to his colleagues Facebook account, downloaded intimate images of his wife and posted them to an internet porn site.

Phillip Williams, 40, was working on the Kittiwake North Sea platform when he discovered the explicit pictures on his coworkers unattended computer.
The mans Facebook was left open on the device after the man had finished his shift.

Williams saved around eighteen images of the spouse in a state of undress before uploading them to an erotic website along with snaps of his own ex-girlfriend.

His work friends wife later found out that her privacy had been violated when someone contacted her online to ask if she was the woman in the pictures.

Fiscal depute Emma Petersen told Aberdeen Sheriff Court that, at some point in April 2019, the former partner began a brief relationship with Williams, during which time they exchanged intimate photographs.

Around the same period, the other womans husband had been working with Williams on the Kittiwake maintenance platform in the North Sea.
In April 2020, she received a Facebook message from someone that included a photograph of her in underwear, asking, Is this you?

The woman recognised it as a picture she had sent to her husband.

She carried out a search on the person who had sent the message and then discovered that the picture had been uploaded to a porn site.

The complainer logged on to the website and discovered a number of photographs of her, 18 of which were intimate photographs, Ms Petersen explained.

All of those images were ones she had sent to her husband and no one else, the fiscal added.

The woman noticed that the person who had sent the Facebook message liked the same account belonging to a local radio station as Williams, who was a Facebook friend of her husband.

It was Williams whom she had initially suspected.

Her husband then confirmed that he had been working on the same oil platform as Williams at the time in question back in 2019.

The matter was reported to the police who confirmed that the womans husbands Facebook account had been accessed on April 29 2019 at 5am.

The pictures had been uploaded to the porn site soon after, with photographs of the woman who Williams had dated being uploaded at the same time.

Williams was interviewed by police in England and admitted he had been working offshore when he found his colleague had left his computer logged on, opened it up and found the previous messages and photographs.

He then downloaded the photos and sent them to himself before uploading the images of the two women to the porno site.

Ms Petersen told the court that, during the interview, Williams acknowledged that neither woman would have known that he had uploaded their intimate pictures to the internet, adding that he didnt mean to cause distress.

The police then contacted the woman, who had been in a brief relationship with Williams, and informed her what had occurred.

She was described as being horrified and embarrassed.

Police in England contacted Police Scotland to pass on her criminal complaint.

Appearing in the dock, Williams pled guilty to two charges of disclosing intimate photographs by posting them on the internet without the two womens consent.

His defence solicitor, Michael Horsman, told the court that his clients position now is that he fully accepts his actions were unreasonable.

Horsman added: Mr Williams was interviewed by police in July 2020 and made admissions at the time. He was working offshore at the time the offence was committed.

At that time, he was suffering from poor mental health and subsequently consulted his doctor about the issues he was experiencing.

As an alternative to prison, Sheriff Annella Cowan imposed a community payback order on Williams including supervision for two years.

She also ordered Williams, of Captain Cooks Close, Staithes in North Yorkshire, to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

He was also placed on the sex offenders register for two years.

A pervert previously caught with a catalogue of child and animal abuse images has appeared back in court.

Chloe Simpson, 26, is charged with failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). The 26-year-old pleaded guilty to the offences at Teesside Magistrates' Court last Friday and the case was transferred to the crown court.

The charges state: "On July 5, 2022, at Saltburn, being a relevant offender within the terms of section 80 of the Sexual Offences act 2003, failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the notification requirements as provided by part 2 of that act in that you failed to register with police within three days of the creation of seven aliases.

"On July 5, 2022, at Saltburn, without reasonable excuse, did something, namely used a device capable of accessing the internet and failed to ensure the capacity to retain and display history of internet use remained active at all times, that you were prohibited from doing so by a sexual harm prevention order made by Teesside Magistrates' Court on May 10, 2021."

Simpson, of St Hilda's Terrace, Loftus, was given bail and told to next appear at Teesside Crown Court on June 23.

It is not the first time the offender has appeared at the higher court. In June 2021, Simpson was sentenced to 10 months in prison suspended for two years. The judge also banned Simpson from owning or keeping animals for 10 years.

Teesside Live previously reported that Simpson's iPhones and laptops revealed a sickening library of images and videos, totalling almost 10 minutes, of sex acts on two dogs and extreme pornographic material of dogs and horses.

The defendant was also found with five indecent images of children, under 10 years old, and a prohibited image of a child.

The court heard how images and videos of sex acts on a "small white dog" were recovered from an iPhone. At the time, Chris Baker, prosecuting, confirmed in total 308 images "relating to that subject matter" were recovered.

He added that 50 of those were videos - which ranged in length from four seconds to 37 seconds - had a combined total of nine minutes and four seconds of "moving footage".

Teesside Crown Court heard how the cruelty related to two different dogs and an examination was undertaken on a seven-year-old Shih Tzu.

The vet confirmed unnecessary suffering had been caused and the acts could have led to "infection and death", however, "the dog didn't show any symptoms".

Simpson had shared her interest in "child abuse and beastiality" on Kik Messenger with "other like-minded people".

She previously pleaded guilty to the string charges. They included three counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animals, two dogs, by carrying out a sex act; possessing a prohibited image of a child; possessing 66 extreme pornographic images involving live animals, namely horses and dogs; and making an indecent photograph of a child, namely five category A photographs.

In 2021, during mitigation, the court heard the Loftus woman was "coming to terms with her own sexuality" and was "transitioning genders". It was also said Simpson's mother "washed her hands of her" after her offending came to light.

A sex offender who called himself 'Cheery Pete' has been hauled back in front of a judge for breaching his notification requirements.

Peter Adams advertised his services as a "freelance gardener and masseuse" over WhatsApp without declaring his alias to the police. The 65-year-old also failed to notify the force about two credit cards.

The Saltburn man, who has committed a "catalogue of offences of a sexual nature", was rumbled by officers after checks were completed on his mobile phone. However, he denied failing to register the name 'Cheery Pete' with Cleveland Police on January 22, but was later found guilty after trial.

Adams appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Wednesday to learn his fate following the preparation of a pre-sentence report. Adams, of Grosvenor Terrace, Carlin How, Saltburn, previously admitted breaching the terms of his sex offender notification requirements after failing to register a Tesco credit card on February 7 in Saltburn.

He also admitted failing to register a Post Office credit card in April 2016 in Leeds. Prosecutor Lynne Dalton outlined that Adams is a "registered sex offender" and has committed a "catalogue of offences of a sexual nature".

The Middlesbrough court heard how Adams was due for a review on January 22 and officers checked his mobile phone. Officers found Adams was "claiming work as a freelance gardener and masseuse" on WhatsApp. They found a profile under the name of 'Cheery Pete' which was not registered with the force.

Adams' financial status was also checked and officers found a Tesco credit card which also had not been declared. Ms Dalton added that it was an "active card at the time".

The court also heard how Adams had also not registered a Post Office credit card, which was also part of his notification requirements. However, this charge dates back to April 2016 which was a "long period of non-compliance" with the sex offenders register notification requirements.

Adams pleaded guilty to both of the credit card charges, however denied the WhatsApp alias. He was convicted in April.

Nick Ayres, mitigating, said there was "no evidence" that the card had been used "for a number of years". Addressing the WhatsApp crimes, he stated that Adams' name, telephone number and picture were displayed "for all to see".

He also added that Adams has been "offence free for 10 years" and became a "fully qualified landscape gardener" - earning up to 10,000 per year - "since his last custodial sentence".

The court heard how Adams is a "fully qualified masseuse". Mr Ayres outlined that Adams lives on a houseboat but also had a "renovation project" ongoing.

District Judge Stephen Hood stated that Adams breached the terms of his notification requirements on three separate occasions and there was a "risk of harm" from his WhatsApp alias.

Judge Hood also added that Adams has a "very bad record" and imposed custodial sentences for all breaches. Adams was sentenced to 32 weeks in custody, suspended for 18 months.

He must also complete 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days, an accredited project with the probation service for 35 days and a "trail monitoring" requirement for four months. Judge Hood said: "This is so probation can keep tabs on your and know where you are."

Adams must also pay 620 in costs and 128 victim surcharge. Judge Hood warned Adams that if he breaches his suspended sentence he can "expect to serve" his jail term.

A music teacher accused of kissing an under-aged girl after the pair exchanged 'flirty' emails has gone on trial.

Newcastle Crown Court heard married Gareth Parry, embarked on an illegal fling after the youngster blew him a kiss, it is claimed.

The 38-year-old has denied six charges of sexual touching.

His trial heard claims from the girl that they would email up to seven times a day - while also chatting via FaceTime.

And the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claimed he performed sexual acts on her in his car and during walks.

Afterwards she is said to have wrote a note in her phone saying she felt Disgusted. Hurt. Sick.

The alleged victim is expected to give evidence from behind a screen on the second day, of what is expected to be a five day trial.

The girls testimony was delayed after a frustrating first day plagued by IT problems.

A 2015 police interview with her, filmed months after the alleged incidents, struggled to play during proceedings.

However, in it the alleged victim claimed she was the one who began flirting.

He was just funny - his personality was just amazing, she told Cleveland Police .

Asked why she was attracted to him, she added: His personality and maturity, intelligence, wit and height.

She claimed the pair had banter while admitting she feared his wife finding out.

However, she alleged that banter soon turned intimate, giving a detailed account of what she claimed was their first kiss.

The Crown say Parry seriously exploited the young girl.

But the defendant, of Stonebridge Crescent, in Ingleby Barwick, insists the events simply didnt happen.

The trial continues.

THE disgraced former chaplain of a Roman Catholic children’s home who sexually abused boys in his care deserved every day of his 15-year jail term, the nation’s top judge has ruled.

Anthony McCallen, 70, was convicted of 11 serious sexual offences against children at Leeds Crown Court and locked away in January this year.

His crimes took place while he was a priest living in the presbytery at a home for troubled youngsters near Market Weighton, east Yorkshire, during the 1970s and 1980s.

His lawyers claimed his punishment was over the top when compared to the more lenient treatment of a lay teacher at the school who was a committed paedophile.

Now defrocked McCallen, of Whernside Crescent, Ingleby Barwick , had led a blameless life since 1993, it was argued.

His case was heard along with those of eight other sex offenders at London’s Appeal Court by the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Thomas, and four other senior judges.

Lord Thomas’s ruling in the test case will be used by courts around the country from now on as guidance when passing sentence in historic child abuse cases.

The judge said there were four teenage victims of McCallen’s crimes, one of whom he regularly assaulted after “coming to his bed at night”.

The same boy was raped by McCallen after the cleric asked him to his home for tea, the court heard.

In 1993, after leaving the school, McCallen was convicted of importing an indecent video, six offences of taking indecent photos of young boys and two counts of indecent assault.

McCallen was finally brought to book for his crimes at the school after Humberside Police launched an investigation into sex abuse there in 2010.

And, dismissing his appeal, Lord Thomas said: “There was nothing wrong in principle with the sentence imposed for these offences”
