Description
We have today, Monday 27 April, welcomed the sentencing of a Wirral man for rape.
Ross Fyles, 28, of The Woodlands, Tranmere, was found guilty of three counts of rape, two counts of s47 assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an imitation firearm and stalking with fear of violence following a trial at Liverpool Crown Court.
Today he was jailed for a total of 16 years with an additional three years on extended licence.
Detective Constable Patrick Shaw said:
“Fyles denied the allegations but was found guilty by a jury following trial.
“His actions have had a considerable impact on his victim and it is right that he is now behind bars for a considerable amount of time as a result.
“I would like to take this opportunity to praise the victim for her bravery and resilience throughout the investigation and court process.
“We would always encourage anyone who has been a victim of a sexual offence to have the courage to come forward and speak to us.
“We have specially trained officers and will provide all the necessary support throughout the investigation, court process and beyond.”
