Description
A 78-year-old pensioner has been jailed for 18 years after being convicted of raping and sexually abusing a boy in the 1990s.
Raymond Rackley, of Pennine Road, Slough, was found guilty of three counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault, and two counts of inciting a boy to commit an act of gross indecency.
He was interviewed by police in March 2023 and December 2024, and sentenced at Reading Crown Court last Wednesday.
Det Con Teranjeet Finn of Thames Valley Police commended the victim for reporting Rackley and speaking out.
"I hope that Raymond Rackley's sentence gives him a sense of justice for what he did to the victim as a child," she said.
"Thames Valley Police takes sexual offences against children very seriously, whether this is a recent offence or something which has happened many years ago.
"I encourage anyone with information about sexual offences and victims of sexual offences to contact the police."
