Description
Ryan Mitchell, 33, from Carn Gwavas Terrace in Newlyn, was sentenced at Truro Crown Court on December 11 to 17 years in prison for raping and violently assaulting a woman.
He was convicted on November 14 of three counts of rape in west Cornwall over five years ago, and one count of grievous bodily harm with intent in 2022, despite pleading not guilty to all charges.
Judge Simon Carr imposed 12 years for each rape count (concurrent) plus five years consecutive for the GBH.
Mitchell will be on the sex offenders register for life, with a restraining order until further notice.
