Description
A man who sexually assaulted a woman in Chelmsford has been jailed thanks to work by your Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Fifty-five year-old Adam Johnson was identified by an officer from Chelmsford’s NPT after the assault in Cornhill on 13 March year was caught on CCTV.
When Johnson was spotted in a shop on Broomfield Road two days later our officers attended and arrested him.
He was also arrested on suspicion of a sexual assault which took place on a bus between Chelmsford and Maldon on 7 October the previous year.
Johnson, of Baxters, Danbury, was later charged with two counts of sexual assault and admitted the charges at Chelmsford Crown Court on 11 July.
At the same court on Tuesday (26 August) he was jailed for two years and given a five year sexual harm prevention order.
He has also been put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.
