Description
A man sexually groomed a young girl and made her watch a homemade pornographic film of himself, a court has heard. Robert Johnson also sexually abused the child then told her not to tell anyone about what he had done.
The 45-year-old from Port Talbot denied the offences saying the allegations against him were made up but he was convicted at trial at Swansea Crown Court. In a statement read to the court the victim described the devastating emotional and psychological impact of the abuse. Police have praised the bravery of the female in coming forward.
Robert Johnson, aged 45, Fairways, Sandfields, Port Talbot, had previously been convicted by a jury of multiple child sex offences including sexual activity by penetration, causing or inciting a child to watch sexual activity, and inciting sexual activity with a child when he appeared in the dock for sentencing. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order. Johnson will be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life.
