Description
A sex offender has been locked up after attacking a woman on Teesside.
Richard Marsden carried out two sexual assaults on the female in the Middlesbrough area.
The 27-year-old, of Locksley Close, North Shields, North Tyneside, committed the crimes in July last year.
He made a first appearance at Teesside Magistrates' Court in Middlesbrough in August this year.
Due to the severity of the charges, the magistrates' transferred his case to Teesside Crown Court.
He was given unconditional bail until the crown court hearing on September 24.
When he returned to court, Marsden pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by penetration.
He was sentenced by Judge Tim Stead at the court in Middlesbrough on December 6.
Marsden was jailed for three years and ordered to sign the sex offender register for an indefinite period.
