A Blairgowrie man who induced a 14-year-old schoolgirl to perform a sex act on him has been sentenced.

Jamie Stewart, 31, admitted a campaign of sexual misconduct towards the girl, starting almost seven years ago.

He admitted sending explicit photos and videos to the girl.

Only after she gave evidence to a jury did he accept he engaged in physical sexual activity with her as well.

His victim cannot be named for legal reasons.

At Perth Sheriff Court, Stewart was told his offending was “terrible” by a sentencing sheriff.

Abuse

Stewart, of Heather Drive in Blairgowrie, admitted communicating indecently with the girl between October 2017 and December 2018, while she was 14 and 15 years old.

Through text and social media messages, Stewart engaged in sexualised conversation.

He sent her sexual photographs and videos of himself and asked that she send him sexual images and clips.

Stewart admitted this was for sexual gratification, or to humiliate, alarm or distress his victim.

After the girl had given evidence before a jury, he also admitted an amended charge of engaging in sexual activity with her in February 2018, when she was 15.

At a property in Blairgowrie, he kissed her on the lips, touched her breasts and buttocks, induced her to perform a sex act on him and performed a sex act on her.

He also placed a sex toy on the girl’s private parts.

At the time of the sexual contact, Stewart was aged 25.

‘Remorse’

Defence solicitor Steve Lafferty said his “high-functioning autistic” client is employed and a first offender.

“He’s always effectively accepted charge one (indecent communication).

“It’s a situation where he had described a degree of remorse.

“It’s a significant offence he’s committed.

“The report reflects a man who would comply fully with community-based disposals.

“He tells me he was initially resistant to this young woman being in his property.

“That’s not the case on the second occasion.

“It’s his fault, he accepts that.”

Finely balanced position

Sheriff Jennifer Bain KC imposed a direct alternative to imprisonment on Stewart.

She said: “This is a terrible offence where you, 10 years senior to the child, met her though a position of trust.

“I note that you feel regret and you verbalise some appreciation of the impact on the victim.

“You are assessed as medium risk.

“I note that you don’t meet the criteria for specialist intervention and this is a first offence.

“I note that you have certain mental health difficulties, in particular autism.

“This case is finely balanced.”

The sheriff imposed 300 hours of unpaid work, to be completed in a year as a direct alternative to prison.

Stewart was told his discount for pleading guilty was that he was not being jailed.

She placed Stewart under supervision for two years and on the Sex Offenders Register for as long.

The sheriff also imposed strict conduct requirements relating to child contact, contact with the victim, social media use and declaration of friendships and relationships.

Description

A 65-year-old man laughed as he carried out a solo sex act on a bus, while keeping his eyes trained on a lone female passenger, a court has heard.

John Moffat committed the depraved act on a public Stagecoach service between Greenloaning and Muthil in Perthshire.

The pervert’s 26-year-old victim broke down in tears and had to get off the bus.

When her uncle came to collect her, Moffat could be seen still laughing at her from the back seat of the vehicle.

He later tried to defend his actions, telling police: “She put her legs up in front of me.”

Moffat, of King Street, Crieff, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and admitted a charge of “intentionally engaging in sexual activity” in front of a stranger, by repeatedly handling and rubbing his genitals through his clothes, on October 9 2021.

He was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be sentenced in the new year.

A pensioner who repeatedly sexually assaulted a woman at a Salvation Army church centre “misinterpreted” their workplace banter, a court has heard.

Gordon Anderson forced himself upon his victim while employed as a cleaner at the church’s base in Perth city centre.

The 70-year-old first offender admitted groping and kissing the woman multiple times over a nine-month period at the South Street place of worship.

Perth Sheriff Court heard the woman – who cannot be named – initially dismissed his conduct as a joke but took things more seriously as the abuse continued.

Overstepped the mark

Anderson returned to the dock for sentencing this week, having previously admitted sexually assaulting his victim at various times between September 1 2021 and June 30 2022.

He was ordered to carry out unpaid work and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five years.

Court papers state he repeatedly attempted to kiss the woman, repeatedly kissed her on the mouth and head, touched her buttocks and breasts over her clothes and bit her finger.

Solicitor Linda Clark, defending, said: “There had been some chat and banter between my client and the complainer.

“He may have misinterpreted the situation and he overstepped the mark.”

The solicitor added: “He is not deemed to be a risk and he is unlikely to come before the court again.”

Sheriff Jennifer Bain KC told Anderson: “I note that you have no previous convictions and that you have struggled to make sense of your own behaviour.

“You are at a low risk of reoffending and a custodial sentence would have significant implications on your tenancy.”

Anderson was ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work within six months.

Groped victim’s breasts

The court previously heard Anderson’s victim had been known to him for years.

She had attended at the church centre frequently and had also worked there as a volunteer.

The court heard Anderson hugged her and on several occasions touched her buttocks over her clothes.

Once, when they were standing outside having a cigarette, Anderson grabbed her breasts over her T-Shirt.

He told her: “That’s the perfect height for me.”

A Salvation Army employee later contacted police after being made aware of Anderson’s conduct.

A sex offender was caught with an illegal smartphone after police noticed he had left the charger plugged in.

Ronald Young has multiple sexual offence convictions, including being caught twice in five months by undercover “paedophile hunter” groups after he went to Newcastle to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

Former bus driver Young was hit with a sexual harm prevention order (SOPO) but has recorded multiple breaches of the public protection measure.

His latest came after suspicious police found a Samsung phone stuffed behind a microwave in his Montrose home.

Serial sex offender had illegal device in Montrose home

Young is supposed to tell the authorities about any communications device he has.

But Dundee Sheriff Court was told officers performing an unannounced spot-check on the predator noticed a white charging cable plugged into the wall, which Young claimed had been there “for a while”.

An investigation involving examination of his Tesco Clubcard found he had purchased top-ups for an unregistered O2 number, which was linked to a Samsung smart phone.

He had previously disclosed owning a Nokia phone, which was unable to search the internet.

As officers continued searching, they found a Muama portable Wi-Fi device shoved in the pocket of a jumper.

Fiscal depute Christine Allan said: “The accused was released from Perth prison in July 2022.

“He has four previous convictions on indictment.

“On his release, police went through the conditions of his sexual harm order with him.”

Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown sentenced Young, of HMP Perth, to a further year in custody, backdated to April this year.

Continual offender

In 2014, Young was convicted for sending explicit messages involving bestiality to what he thought was a 13-year-old girl he befriended online before making the 200-mile journey to Tyneside to meet her.

The 63-year-old, who claimed on the chat site he was just 18 and called himself ‘sportsteacher’, had been tricked by vigilantes known as Dark Justice who were waiting at Newcastle’s Central Station when he arrived.

The former bus driver was again convicted of a sexual crime when he was found with a mobile phone under his mattress – his fourth SOPO breach.

He had been using the device to have sexually graphic conversations with children and teenagers.

Young also travelled to London to meet with another person he believed to be a child, who again turned out to be a vigilante group.

A convicted sex offender covertly attached a tiny camera to a woman's clothing so he could secretly film "upskirt" videos of her.

The illicitly filmed footage was found on Brian Cocker's mobile phone, along with a stash of child porn material filed as "Candid Teens." Cocker, 36, was banned from playparks and other areas frequented by children as part of a conduct order imposed at Perth Sheriff Court.

He was told to carry out 200 hours unpaid community work and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and under social work supervision for three years. The court was told that the spycam material - which clearly identified a female known to Cocker - was found during a routine visit by police officers.

Cocker, from Perth, admitted that between 20 April and 19 July 2021 he operated equipment beneath a woman's clothing to enable himself to observe her genitals, buttocks or underwear. He admitted doing it to obtain images of her bending over and trying to photograph her genital area without her knowledge or consent.

He also admitted a charge of having indecent images of children between 25 November 2020 and 24 July 2021. Cocker was first placed on the Sex Offenders Register in 2014 for grooming a 15-year-old girl for sex in a course of conduct which led to him being jailed for ten months.

He plied the youngster with alcohol during "frequent" sessions, despite knowing she was under-age. Fiscal depute Elizabeth Hodgson said police called on Cocker at home and he handed over his mobile, containing the folder of sickening child porn images.

The children depicted were as young as 14, and a further probe found the voyeuristic pictures of the woman who had been "upskirted" by Cocker.

Solicitor Linda Clark, defending, said: "He has been engaging with the Stop It Now programme, of his own volition, attending 30 sessions on a voluntary basis. He has expressed significant regret and remorse. Mr Cocker has a previous conviction for similar behaviour from 2014. For ten years he has managed not to engage in that kind of offending.

"He appreciates that had the previous case been more recent, a custodial sentence would have been inevitable, but it has been ten years and there are alternatives available."

Sheriff Jennifer Bain KC: "I note from the reports before me that you are at medium risk of sexual reoffending. You will have been made aware that a custodial sentence was at the forefront of my mind."

A senior project manager at power firm SSE has been caught with a cache of obscene child abuse images.

Police raided David Dickie’s Perth city centre home after learning illicit files were being downloaded to devices connected to the property.

They seized the 35-year-old’s mobile phone and discovered dozens of photos featuring children as young as one.

Perth Sheriff Court heard some of the material included “sadistic sexual activity.”

Dickie admitted possession of the files over an eight month period from November 2021.

He was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be sentenced next month.

Home raid

Fiscal depute Stewart Duncan told the court: “At the time of these offence, the accused was 34 years old and was employed as an engineer manager by SSE.

“Confidential and reliable information was received by Police Scotland that indecent images of children were being held at the accused’s address in Princes Street.

“As a result, police craved and were granted a search warrant.

“This was executed at about 8.20am on Wednesday, October 12 2022, when the accused was at home.”

Mr Duncan said: “A systematic search of the property was commenced and a number of electronic devices were recovered.

“A forensic preview was carried out on all devices and a Samsung mobile phone was found to contain approximately 90 child sexual abuse material at Category A.

“The picture files featured boys and girls approximately one to 10 years.”

Further examination

The court heard that a further, more in-depth analysis was carried out.

“The device was attributed to the accused by various social media and email accounts in his name,” said the fiscal depute.

“The accused also provided PIN numbers for the phone.”

Cybercrime experts found 166 images on the phone, with 59 at the most obscene level.

“The images contained sexual activity, sexualised posing and sadistic sexual activity,” said Mr Duncan.

Sheriff William Wood told Dickie: “Because of the nature of this charge I can’t deal with you today. I need to obtain background reports.

“In the meantime, you have been convicted of a sexual offence and you will require to be subject to the Sex Offenders Register.”

The sheriff said the length of time he will remain subject to the requirements will be determined when he returns to court on October 26.

According to his now deleted LinkedIn account, Dickie was a “senior authorised person” and lead project manager in network construction at SSE.

The company has declined to comment.

A 29-year-old man has been jailed for eight years after being found guilty of a number of serious sexual offences.

Ruaraidh McCartney was guilty of a number of serious sexual offences. on Wednesday, 5 July at the High Court in Glasgow.

The offences were committed in Stirlingshire and Perthshire between 2011 and 2021.

He was sentenced today (Tuesday, 1 August) at the High Court in Lanark.

Detective Inspector Forbes Wilson said: McCartney is a dangerous and predatory individual who has committed serious sexual offences against a number of women over an extended period of time.

His conduct has been appalling and I hope his conviction will allow the women involved to move forward with their lives.

I would urge anyone who has been the victim of sexual violence to come forward and report it to us, regardless of the passage of time.

We, working with partner agencies, will support you through the process, investigate thoroughly and bring those responsible to justice.

A Perth paedophile who was exposed following a covert police operation has been spared jail.

Alan McDade sent explicit messages, selfies and graphic videos to what he thought was a 14-year-old girl called Beth.

The youngster was in fact an undercover police officer.

McDade bombarded “Beth” with requests for nude photos and sent her sexual images, even after she told him she was at lessons.

He told her he was being extra careful, “because I could get into trouble messaging you”.

McDade, 53, returned to Perth Sheriff Court having earlier admitted attempting to communicate indecently with a child on various occasions between January 7 and February 2, 2021.

He dodged a prison sentence but was told he must stay on the Sex Offenders Register for three years.

Disgusting and ashamed

Solicitor Pauline Cullerton, defending, told the court: “He is a 53 year old man who appears before the court as a first offender.

“He accepts full responsibility this offence.

“He described his behaviour, in his own words, as disgusting and states that he is ashamed of himself.

“He is an individual who views himself in a negative manner.

“Mr McDade is fully aware that the behaviour was illegal, but was unable to offer an explanation as to why he didn’t cease communication with the individual when he was advised she was only 14 years old.”

The court heard he is still in employment and with his partner.

Sheriff David Hall told McDade: “I will give you some limited credit for pleading guilty to this serious matter.

“In your case, I am satisfied there is an alternative to a custodial sentence.”

He was placed on supervision as part of a two year community payback order.

Alan McDade: ‘Pay attention little lady’

The court heard that McDade contacted the Snapchat profile on the day it was set up by police, January 7, 2021.

After the decoy accepted him as a friend, she stated she was 14 and still in school.

“This was emphasised throughout the chat,” said fiscal depute Joanne Ritchie. “She constantly brought up being in lessons and doing school work.”

McDade told Beth: “I could get in trouble for even chatting to you. Old guy, young girl.

“Can you promise this is just between the both of us?”

McDade’s messages became increasingly explicit and he sent her a series of graphic images and videos.

When Beth told him she had an online school lesson, McDade said: “Pay attention little lady or I might send you a pic and put you right off.”

He then sent her two photos of a penis and a video of an adult performing a solo sex act.

Police executed a search warrant on McDade’s home in Hawarden Terrace on March 16.

A violent stalker has admitted sexually assaulting two women in Perth city centre.

Creepy Barrie Cameron forced himself on his first victim as she walked home after a night out with friends.

Perth Sheriff Court heard the second woman was left terrified after he kissed and fondled her in his flat, despite her repeated pleas for him to stop.

She was forced to flee by pretending to make a private call, leaving behind her supermarket shopping.

Cameron, who has convictions for stalking, theft and racially aggravated behaviour, appeared in the dock and admitted sexually assaulting the two women both in their 20s in January and July 2021.

The 45-year-old was remanded in custody and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for the second time in three years.

Late night encounter

Prosecutor Lora Apostolova said Cameron sometimes known as Barry targeted his first victim in a courtyard outside his home in South William Street.

The complainer lived locally to the accused but had no knowledge of him prior to the offence, the fiscal depute told the court.

The woman was walking home from visiting friends when she became aware of Cameron walking towards her.

Ms Apostolova said: The accused stopped directly in front of her and said Ive seen you on South William Street.

He made reference to having see her walking a dog.

Cameron appeared to be drunk.

She acknowledged that she lived in that area and continued walking as she felt uncomfortable with the accused trying to talk to her, the prosecutor said.

The accused changed his direction of travel and walked beside her.

The complainer began to walk faster in an attempt to distance herself from him.

Cameron then told the woman I really fancy you and told her she had a unique walk.

She found these comments unusual and was uncomfortable with them, said Ms Apostolova.

Cameron then asked if she wanted to come up to his flat.

She fully declined, the court heard.

He then told her: Ill give you my phone if you think Im weird.

Then: Alright, let me give you a kiss.

Cameron pulled her close and attempted to kiss the woman on the lips.

She turned so he kissed her cheek instead.

Ms Apostolova said the woman shrugged off her attacker and went home.

She decided not to call police, because of fear of repercussions, the court heard.

A few weeks later, she walked down South William Street and became aware of Cameron banging on his flat window.

He looked directly at her and gestured for her to smile.

The woman felt forced to change her walking route to avoid him.

Scared by his conduct

The second victim knew Cameron from their days together at a homeless hostel.

She went to his flat after meeting him by chance at a local supermarket.

They sat on a couch watching football and Cameron put a hand on her leg.

He asked her: Can I give you a pound?

Ms Apostolova said: The complainer did not understand what he meant.

She pushed his hand off her leg and said it felt weird.

Cameron told her: You just need to get used to the feeling.

He sat on a bean bag on the floor but kept a hold of the womans hand.

She pulled away from him, said the fiscal depute.

This happened multiple times and on a few occasions the accused kissed her hand, which she did not like.

The accused kept asking if he was scaring the complainer.

She said no but this was not true. She just didnt know what to do.

The court heard Camerons behaviour became erratic.

He picked up the TV, shook it and then threatened to jump out a window.

He continued to touch the womans leg and kissed her without her consent.

The woman told him no.

Ms Apostolova said: At this point, the accused walked around the living room for about 20 seconds before approaching the woman and kissing her on the cheek and then attempting to kiss her on the lips.

He threatened to self-harm and then made a sexual comment, before grabbing the womans thigh.

She texted a friend: I know him from my hostel, but hes on the Sex Offenders Register.

He keeps touching and kissing me. Im so f***ing scared, I dont know who to get out of his flat.

The friend called and she left the flat to answer, leaving her shopping.

Police arrived later and found Cameron watching TV and drinking cider, surrounded by empty cans.

Alcohol abuse

Solicitor John McLaughlin said Cameron was under the influence of alcohol on both occasions.

He does accept that his conduct was causing distress to the two women.

He knows that he has an issue with alcohol.

Sheriff David Hall placed him on the Register and deferred sentence for reports.

A paedophile who had sex multiple times with a schoolgirl was told his youth saved him from being locked up.

Creepy Kyle McLean admitted being engaged in sexual activity with his 15-year-old victim at his home in Alyth, while she was drunk and hungover.

He was traced by police at Perth’s hub for community service work, where he was being punished for an earlier sex offence involving a child.

Returning to the dock for sentencing, the 20-year-old was told he would be locked up if he had been older.

McLean’s sentencing sparked an outburst from the public gallery.

Court interupted

Sheriff Gillian Wade told him: “This is a serious offence and you are now at the custody threshold.

“If you were older at the time of these offences, the court would likely have imposed a custodial sentence.”

She said: “In the circumstances, I am obliged to look at alternatives to custody and I am satisfied I can deal with this by way of a high level, high tariff, community payback order.”

McLean was placed on supervision for three years and must engage with the Moving Forward: Making Changes sex offenders rehabilitation programme.

He must carry out 188 hours of unpaid work.

The sheriff placed McLean on the Sex Offenders Register for three years.

At the end of the hearing, a man in the public benches – accompanied by a young woman – shouted: “He’ll do it again.”

Victim told mother

Fiscal depute Joanne Ritchie earlier told the court McLean and the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, first met at the end of July 2021.

They began to message each other and the girl described the communication as being “flirty” and “light-hearted”.

McLean was aware she was only 15 and told her not to tell anyone about their encounters.

On August 16, she told her mother she was going to stay at a friend’s house but instead, arrived at McLean’s home in Mill Street, Alyth.

She drank half a bottle of vodka and some alcopops and began to feel intoxicated and tired.

They went to bed and had sex and although the girl said she was too tired to continue, McLean said she was his “good girl”.

He then suggested they move to the kitchen to waken up and they continued to have unprotected sex there.

The next morning, the girl woke up early.

McLean told her he wanted to have sex again.

Feeling hungover, the girl consumed more alcohol before they had sex again.

She returned on later dates and there was more sexual activity.

Phone records

A friend of the girl had become concerned and told a member of staff at her school.

Her mother was then informed and police were called.

A detective examined the girl’s phone and found almost 800 messages between the two and 36 phone calls.

The girl had sent him photographs and McLean had messaged her vile replies.

Other messages showed the girl had told McLean she was in pain after sex.

In June 2021, he had been sentenced to 100 hours of unpaid work for sexual offending towards a child.

On September 15, police arrived at Westbank – Perth’s hub for community service work – looking for him.

Officers found him there and he confirmed he knew the girl.

McLean, 20, of Glengarry Road, Perth, admitted engaging in sexual activity with an older child on various occasions over a two-week period and sending her sexual messages.

A paedophile who directed and recorded appalling sex attacks on young girls over the internet from his home Lochinver has been jailed for 12 years.

Gary Campbell, a former retained firefighter, paid for adults in the Philippines to abuse children as young as four as he watched it in "real time" on a livestream from more than 6000 miles away.

The filmed sex attacks included the rape of two girls aged eight and nine by an adult male who Campbell was told was 25. He said: "He is very lucky getting to do a show with these girls."

Campbell (59) paid as little as £10 ahead of sessions in which young girls were molested and performed sex acts for his gratification.

A judge told him at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday: "You used the advantage of the comparative wealth of our society in order to pay people to corrupt children."

Lord Beckett said: "Over a period of more than two years you were intermittently sexually corrupting young children."

The judge said: "You will appreciate these are grave crimes indeed, for which there is no alternative to a prison sentence."

He ordered that Campbell should be under supervision for a further three years during which he can be returned to jail if he breaches licence conditions.

The judge told him that he would have faced a 15-year prison term but for his guilty pleas.

Campbell, now of Windsor Court, Perth, earlier admitted 13 charges including rape, sexual assault and inciting children to become providers of sexual services.

The sex crimes were committed between June 2012 and August 2014 while he was living at Culag Gardens, Lochinver.

Advocate depute Margaret Barron told the court: "On May 10 in 2021 officers from the National Child Abuse Investigation Unit in Inverness received information that on September 23, 2020, a female living in the Philippines had been arrested for producing, possessing and distributing indecent images of children and for livestreaming child abuse."

The prosecutor said: "Information was received that the accused Gary Campbell had made payments to this woman on 13 separate occasions."

Police seized a laptop, Macbook, iPod, USB sticks and micro cards from his home and discovered that he had a Skype account with the user name "gary24pucket".

The advocate depute said videos and chat logs that were recovered showed Campbell provided directions to adults in the Philippines to assault the children.

She said: "On occasion during the livestreaming of the assaults the accused advises those broadcasting the livestream if he is having difficulty seeing the children, which results in the children and adults repositioning themselves to enable the accused to see what is being done to the children."

The prosecutor said it indicated that Campbell was not only watching the children being abused in "real time" but that he was directing those in the Philippines to assault the youngsters.

During one Skype conversation with a Filipina woman he told her: "I am always excited to see young girls." In another call he asked another woman: "What is the youngest you can get me?"

The former water treatment operative was arrested by police in June 2021 and during an interview made "no comment" replies to questions.

Defence solicitor advocate Shahid Latif said Campbell was a first offender who has seen a psychotherapist and undertaken work to deal with the factors that led to the offending.

He told the court: "There is no doubt he is thoroughly ashamed and disgusted by his behaviour."

Campbell was told that he will be on the sex offenders' register indefinitely following his sentencing.

A Perth paedophile who shared photos of city schoolgirls with other creeps online has dodged a prison sentence.

William Innes took images from local parents’ Facebook pages and posted them on dating app Grindr.

He shared sick rape fantasies and said he would “rip the school uniform off” one of the youngsters in the photos.

The 24-year-old, who was also caught with a cache of child abuse files, boasted that he got aroused every time he walked past a school.

Innes, of Simpson Square, appeared at the city’s sheriff court and admitted discussing child abuse and sending photos of children in uniform in a series of messages that were “grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character” between September and October 2021.

He also pled guilty to possession of child abuse images between January and August that year.

Sentencing

Sheriff Gillian Wade told him: “This is a very serious offence in very concerning circumstances.

“I believe the best way to deal with this is with a lengthy community payback order.”

William Innes appeared at Perth Sheriff Court.
Innes was ordered to carry out 165 hours of unpaid work and must engage with the Moving Forward Making Changes programme for sex offenders.

He has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for three years.

Sheriff Wade warned Innes the sentence was imposed as a direct alternative to prison.

“If you fail to comply you will be brought back here and likely be sent into custody,” she said.

Solicitor Mike Tavendale, defending, said: “This is a young man who has lost his employment as a result of his involvement in this matter.

“The impression I have is that he has an appreciation of what he has done and has shown genuine remorse.”

Illicit images recovered

Fiscal depute Michael Sweeney previously told the court Police Scotland had received information that a device with an IP address linked to Innes’s home had been involved in child sexual abuse material during June 2021.

Officers swooped on the property and a Samsung mobile phone was seized from under Innes’s pillow.

“A preview indicated there were illicit images of children on it,” the fiscal depute said.

“The accused was arrested and taken to police headquarters in Dundee.”

The phone was analysed by the cybercrime unit and 28 files related to child sexual exploitation and abuse were recovered.

The 26 still images and two videos – downloaded from messaging app Kik – featured girls as young as nine years old.

Five files were at the highest end of the court’s obscenity scale, the court heard.

Rape fantasies

Mr Sweeney said: “Concerning communications were also found on the phone application Grindr.

“This is a dating app for gay and bi-curious men in which they can exchange messages.”

Innes posted on the app under the username “Horny” with two devil emojis.

“He was engaged with a variety of other Grindr users,” said Mr Sweeney.

Innes told one man that he would “love to rape his sister”.

Asked if he had done anything with her, Innes replied: “I wish. Stole her thongs… Always planned to meet her… to rape her.”

In another exchange, he wrote he was interested in “sexy young boys in sheer tights” and schoolgirls.

Innes said he got aroused every time he drove or walked past a school.

During the chats, Innes shared photos of schoolgirls, including one aged between 11 and 13 and said he would “rip her school uniform off” and be “extremely rough” with her.

He shared fantasies about raping a young girl after picking her up from school.

Mr Sweeney said: “The images of children dressed in school uniform appeared to be from Perth schools.

“Enquiries were made to trace the children.

“The photographs appear to have been taken from their parents’ social media accounts.”

A director of a leading Tayside events firm has admitted sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl at a Perthshire caravan park.

Alistair McCready was arrested at his workplace after investigators found his DNA inside his young victims pyjama bottoms.

The 56-year-old, a director at Dundee-based AM Lighting, appeared in court and admitted sexually assaulting the child at Ballintuim Caravan Park in Highland Perthshire.

The distraught youngster pretended to be asleep as McCready molested her, Perth Sheriff Court heard.

She then sent a series of heartbreaking messages to her mum, asking to come home because Alistair is being weird.

McCready, of Calton Street, Coupar Angus, was remanded in custody and will be sentenced next month.

Sheriff William Wood told him: It seems to me that a custodial sentence is going to be inevitable given that this offence involved a breach of trust.

McCready was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

Victim had tears in her eyes

FIscal depute Marie Lyons said that the youngster was one of a group of young girls who were staying at McCreadys caravan in July, last year.

During the night, the girl got up to get a drink before going back to her bed.

After she lay back down, she felt the accuseds hand rub her back under her top, said Ms Lyons.

The accused then moved his hand down to her bottom and began rubbing her under her pyjama bottoms, while moving his hand between her legs.

She did not say anything and kept still. She thinks the accused might have thought she was sleeping.

Ms Lyons said: She was upset and had tears in her eyes.

Snapchat plea to mum

During the night, she sent a series of Snapchat messages to her mum, asking to be collected.

The girl told her: I want to come home. I miss you and I cant sleep.

And: Please can I come home? Alistair is being weird. Hes rubbing me and I dont like it.

The girls mother saw the messages when she woke later that morning and immediately drove to the caravan park, north of Blairgowrie.

She found her daughter clearly distraught and upset.

McCready was later seen acting out of character and sitting on his own outside the caravan.

He was heard to say: I think Ive done something to (the girl), but would not elaborate.

Police turned up at the park and seized clothing as part of their investigation.

McCreadys DNA was found inside the girls pyjama bottoms.

McCready was later arrested at his workplace.

During his police interview, he told investigators he had a drinking problem.

Sentence was deferred for background reports until October 13.

McCready is listed as an active director of AM Lighting Ltd.

The company has supplied lighting and sound equipment for scores of events throughout Tayside and Fife.

A Perth sex offender who attacked a woman while she slept has been jailed and will be monitored after his release.

Fahad Mateen, 29, was convicted by jurors of performing a sex act on the woman at a property in the citys Tulloch area.

Before being jailed, he was told by a sheriff his actions were one of the most appalling of violations a man can undertake to a woman.

Sheriff William Wood jailed him for two years and imposed an extended sentence which will see him on licence for the same period again after he is liberated.

He was found guilty of committing the October 15 2019 sexual assault after a trial at Perth Sheriff Court.

The sheriff also lambasted Mateen, of County Place, for forcing his victim to give evidence when his DNA had been traced in his victim.

Sheriff blasts accused for trial

Sheriff Wood told the first offender: I take quite a dim view the complainer was put through this experience of giving evidence. That was avoidable.

The scientific evidence is hard, if not impossible, to rebut.

Im of the view only a significant custodial sentence will be appropriate.

The complainer was placed in a very difficult set of circumstances.

Although Im prepared to accept there may have been some intimacy, the complainer explained in graphic detail she was not (able) to have consented to what happened.

Im aware that she has suffered significantly psychologically as a result of this attack.

It is one of the most appalling of violations a man can undertake to a woman.

I do have some concerns that on your release you are adequately equipped for forming relationships.

It is to be hoped that it will change your perspective about what is acceptable and whats not acceptable when youre released from custody.

Ashamed and embarrassed

Defending lawyer Paul Mullen said: Despite being found guilty by the jury, Im instructed to say on behalf of Mr Mateen that he feels ashamed and embarrassed by his actions.

That is something that is borne in the criminal justice social work report.

This episode has impacted on him greatly but in fairness to him, that will have impacted negatively to a very great extent to the complainer.

Notwithstanding the serious allegations which he was convicted of, it is a matter which could be marked by the imposition of a community payback order.

He is deemed not to be a high risk offender.

When Sheriff Wood explained only custody was being considered, Mr Mullen explained Mateen would welcome the engagement post-release that comes with an extended sentence.

Mateen was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a decade and handed a non-harassment order which will ban him from contacting his victim also for ten years.

A high-risk paedophile who flashed at children and carried out a sex act while sitting on a gravestone in Aberdeen has been jailed for 30 months.

Serial sex offender Stephen Bell, 62, was also given a further three-year extended sentence in a bid to protect the public from harm.

He was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life after he admitted a series of sexual offences when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Alistair Carmichael said: The nature of the offences and your previous convictions mean a custodial sentence is required for the punishment aspect and to adequately meet societys expectations regarding such offences against children.

Bells solicitor Ian Hingston told the court that his client was in the middle of a course about his sexual interest in young children when he was arrested.

Sex act on a grave

The court was told that he was arrested after carrying out a sex act on a grave after following young girls and engaging them in sexual conversations.

Bell was out on bail at the time despite having previously been jailed for sex offences and being deemed high risk by social workers.

The court heard how he broke off a journey to his partners home to drive to a playpark in Dundee and flash at 10 and eight-year-old girls.

Bell, a prisoner at Perth, admitted making sexual remarks to girls and masturbating while staring at them in the Mill OMains playpark on April 29 last year.

Indecent images in Peterculter

Bell also admitted having indecent images of children in Peterculter and Alloa between January 1 2020 and May 1 2021 and carrying out a sex act in front of two other young girls in Aberdeen between September 1 2020 and February 28 last year.

Fiscal depute Michael Sweeney said: He has previous convictions involving indecency. He is managed as a high-risk sex offender by the unit in Aberdeen.

At the time of this, he was on bail with special conditions not to have contact with any child under 16.

On April 29 2021, the girls saw a male staring at them with his penis exposed. He walked over with his penis still exposed and started speaking to them.

He was only a few feet away. He had his penis exposed the entire time. He had a brown bandage around the middle of his penis, he told the court.

Bell asked the girls: Do you know any good hiding places? Have you ever had sex? Im still waiting on my girlfriend to have sex with me.

Aberdeen incident

Mr Sweeney told the court: The male was touching his penis while talking to them. The girls walked away from him and the male followed them.

Bell kept following the girls until they eventually ran away and reported what they had seen to a parent. Police were then contacted.

When police traced Bell, he was found to have more than 350 abuse images on his mobile phone some featuring babies around 12-months-old.

In the Aberdeen incident, Bell approached two girls aged 11 and started to speak to them about the weather before wandering into an adjacent graveyard.

They went to see what he was doing, Mr Sweeney said. He was sat on a gravestone with his trousers pulled down to his knees and he was masturbating while looking at his mobile phone.
