A teenager who got a primary school-aged girl to perform sex acts on him has been jailed for five years.

The girl – now a young woman – spoke of the ‘sense of dread’ she felt on ‘each and every occasion’ she was invited into Jake Nolan’s bedroom to endure what she later realised were sickening sex assaults.

Having given evidence at Nolan’s trial in October, the woman – who cannot be identified for legal reasons – spoke of the devastating impact the now 26-year-old’s abuse has had upon her.

Prosecutor Mark Seymour suggested that the impact on the victim could amount to ‘extreme psychological harm’, putting the offending in the most serious category in the sentencing guidelines given to judges.

“If the level of harm in terms of psychological impact that is obviously writ large in the statement doesn’t constitute extreme harm it is really quite hard to see what would – short, actually, a complainant ending her own life,” the barrister said.

Sending him to prison for five years for rape of a child under-13 and causing or inciting a child under-13 to engage in sexual activity, Judge Maria Lamb told Nolan: “The impact which you have had upon your victim has been devastating. It is clear – quite wrongly – that she blamed herself for what had been done to her.

“She has no reason to reproach herself at all.

"She was a child at the time these things were perpetrated against her by you.”

Judge Lamb described the victim’s impact statement as ‘heartbreaking’.

Had Nolan been an adult when he carried out the abuse and not a child in his early teens, he would have faced a prison sentence around twice as long as the one he actually received.

John Carmichael, mitigating, reminded the judge of his client’s difficult upbringing. Noting that the offences had been committed while Nolan was drunk or under the influence of alcohol, he said: “One asks oneself the question what on earth is he doing with the alcohol? Where was the control from the family?”

Nolan’s older brother had been jailed for sexual offending of his own, the court heard. Mr Carmichael said his client had grown up with a ‘lack of role models’.

The defendant’s education had been disrupted, he had ‘intellectual difficulties’ and he had not worked for a number of years.

Nolan, of Grange Beck, Didcot, will be on the sex offender register for life and will be subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

A convicted sex offender who admitted breaching a court order limiting his access to the web was allowed to walk from court in part because he was still waiting for a place on a probation rehabilitation scheme.

Connor Russell, 20, was spared an immediate prison sentence last year, when a judge at Oxford Crown Court gave him a 16 month suspended jail sentence for accessing child sex abuse 'filth' online, which he had apparently been looking at since the aged of 11.

As part of that suspended sentence order he was required to complete an intensive sex offender rehabilitation programme, called Horizon.

But by the time police made an unannounced trip to his home this September almost a year after his sentence was imposed he was still on the waiting list for a place on the scheme.

He admitted seven breaches of the sexual harm prevention order imposed last year, including by failing to register a phone and other internet-enabled devices with Thames Valley Police.

On Wednesday, Judge Ian Pringle KC was told that Russell had a place on the Horizon programme starting next January.

And his barrister, Kellie Enever, claimed it would be unjust for the judge to activate the 16 month suspended sentence - given her client had not been given a chance to start the rehabilitative course that might prevent him offending in the future.

The young man, who was remanded into prison by the magistrates in September, also struggled with a number of mental health issues.

Setting out the circumstances surrounding the latest offending, Judge Pringle said: Anyone listening to those facts would think well, I simply send you to prison.

But your counsel has ably submitted to me you havent really had a chance to try to rectify the problems that you have.

What I am going to do is take an unusual course in your case.

"Your Horizon programme is due to start in January. Thats a demanding programme and it may, at your young age, put you off your urge to access this sort of material.

He said he would adjourn sentencing for six months, giving Russell a chance to start the course.

As conditions of the adjournment, Russell was required to comply with the probation service, do the Horizon course and try to tackle his mental health.

[If] I can see that youve made significant progress in engaging on the Horizon Programme and treating your mental health and of course that youve not committed any further offences or breached the sexual harm prevention order that you still have, then I may not send you to prison, he said.

Russell, of Fulwell Close, Banbury, was bailed to return to court on May 19 next year.

 A judge questioned why the Crown Prosecution Service had charged a paedophile with a lesser charge – when the more serious one was seemingly made-out.

Recorder Paul Reid told prosecutor Honor Fitzgerald it could be seen as ‘potentially inadequate’ that a convicted paedophile who tried to meet a 13-year-old ‘girl’ in a hotel for sex was only charged with attempting to incite a child to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.

Dealing with Sean Attenborough for his third set of sex convictions in seven years, the judge said: “Perhaps you could communicate to the Crown Prosecution Service my remarks about this because it seems to me that the charge is or could be described as potentially inadequate.”

He added: “I’ve come across many cases like this. This is one of the very worst and it’s also the first in my experience [where] the undercover police officer has actually spoken on the telephone to the defendant.”  

Earlier, the court heard that Attenborough was subject to a suspended prison sentence, imposed in January, when he began talking to what he thought was a young woman on chatroom website Chatiw. He asked her if she liked ‘older men’.

Their conversation moved to the Snapchat app, when the ‘girl’ told Attenborough she was actually 13 years old.  

She was, in fact, an undercover police officer patrolling the net to catch would-be paedophiles.

Attenborough was firmly caught in the officer’s net. He repeatedly asked for pictures of herself with her ‘onesie’ pyjamas unzipped to her waist.

He encouraged her to perform sex acts on herself, offered to send images of his naked genitalia and repeatedly talked about meeting in a hotel to have sex with her.

Unusually in such investigations, the defendant and the ‘girl’ also spoke on the telephone.

Attenborough, of no fixed address, was arrested in September. His devices were analysed and he was found to have a small number of indecent images of children.

By using the digital kit, which had not been registered with the police, to contact a supposed child he was in breach of a sexual harm prevention order imposed earlier this year.

He pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court in September to breaching his sexual harm prevention order, attempted sexual communication with a child, attempting to incite a girl to engage in sexual activity and .

A pre-sentence report compiled by the probation service was described by the judge as ‘very damning’. Attenborough was regarded as posing a ‘high risk of causing serious harm’.

Mitigating, Dana Bilan said her client had not yet started the sex offender treatment programme – Horizon – when he was arrested in the autumn.

The father-of-two grown up children was said to be ‘realistic’ and understood the sentence could only be an immediate custodial one.

Recorder Reid jailed him for a total of 44 months, including activating an earlier eight month sentence.

A convicted groper continued to protest his innocence as he was jailed for almost a year.

Mitigating on his own behalf, Artig Emmanuel, 24, said of a set of offences committed against five women in Didcot in November 2020 for which he was convicted in September: “We do not even have any evidence that any of these things happened.”

He told Oxford Crown Court on Friday that there was ‘no DNA’ and ‘no identification’ evidence collected by the police, who obtained CCTV footage of him in the area around the time of the attacks.

“They [the prosecution] just skipped straight to trial,” he said – claiming that, had the victims been black rather than white, ‘it would have been different’. “White women, you’ve got some privilege,” he said.

Appearing to accuse the justice system of racial bias, he told Judge Maria Lamb that he had wanted a ‘diverse jury’ and cited research that a more diverse jury was ‘less likely to convict a black person’.

He criticised coverage of his second trial in the media and, in particular, reporting of the fact he quoted the title of Shaggy’s 2000 hit ‘It Wasn’t Me’ in addressing the jury.

“That is an unimportant point. Don’t put clickbait over the truth,” said Emmanuel, who during the second trial also cited the title of rap star Skepta’s single ‘That’s Not Me’ and quoted the words of Old Testament figure King Solomon that ‘what is lacking cannot be counted.

Sentencing him to 48 weeks’ imprisonment, Judge Lamb noted that Emmanuel had told the probation service that he ‘would not cooperate’ with conditions attached to a community order or suspended sentence.

“I am sorry that the pre-sentence reports make clear that you do not wish to avail yourself of the help that the probation service could offer to you,” she told the defendant, who spent more than 200 days in prison on remand.

“I do not think that it would be appropriate to impose a sentence of community service here in any event.

“These offences are too serious for that. They attract a prison sentence and it wouldn’t be right to seek to impose a community service order, you having spent so much time in custody already.”

He will be on the sex offender register for 10 years.

Emmanuel, of Blackthorn Road, Didcot, was convicted in February of sexually assaulting a female dog walker in Wantage in 2021. He was subsequently refused permission by the Court of Appeal to challenge his convictions.

In September, he was convicted of five counts of sexual touching. He had slapped or touched five women over two nights in November 2020.

A sex offender caught with a video of a boy molesting another during a ‘wrestling’ game told police it was ‘very normal’ for children to play naked in his native Brazil.

Just weeks earlier, Maxwel da Silva Miranda had been convicted of pawing a 16-year-old girl he had picked up in his car on Cowley Road.

And the Wood Farm, Oxford, man was soon to be charged for a series of sexual assaults on another pre-teen girl. He was found guilty in August of repeatedly groping the girl’s breasts and private parts, including on one occasion after they had been to church together in Swindon.

The victim of those assaults was said to have been left wanting to take her own life as a result of Miranda’s sick behaviour.

Summarising the impact on the victim, Gabrielle McAvock told Oxford Crown Court on Friday afternoon: “The defendant’s offending caused the victim to become suicidal, to self-harm, she tried to jump from the third floor of the flat where she lived. She suffered from flashbacks, had difficulty sleeping and [it] had an adverse effect on her school life.”

Judge Nigel Daly jailed Miranda for eight years, telling him: “It seems to me you are a man who’s quite prepared to exploit the vulnerability of young women to satisfy your sexual needs.” 

 Earlier, the court heard that a specialist officer made an unannounced visit to the flat Miranda shared with his wife on July 19 last year.

He looked at the sex offender’s iPhone and found in his WhatsApp images folder a video showing two naked boys aged around eight to 10. The children were wrestling although, later in the video, one of the boys could be seen sexually assaulting the other. The video was distributed to three other WhatsApp contacts.

Also on the phone were two extreme pornographic images showing a person having sex with an animal.

He was interviewed by the police and claimed to have been sent  the indecent video by friends from Brazil. Ms McAvock said: “The defendant said it was very normal for children to play naked in Brazil.” He denied distributing the video.

No other indecent images were found on his phone. Similarly, there was no evidence of him searching the internet for child sex abuse images.

Miranda, now of no fixed address, was sentenced for sexual assault on a girl under-13, distributing indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornographic images.

Mitigating, Gordana Austin said her client continued to deny the assaults on the younger girl. He was married with two children and, having been sentenced to imprisonment, was likely to be deported to Brazil.

The defendant must comply with an indefinite restraining order banning him from contact with the younger victim, an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and will be on the sex offender register for life.

A convicted sex offender was caught in the police station car park talking into the mobile phone he should not have had.

Kevin Dale had gone to Abingdon police station on September 7 to get specialist ‘risk management’ software installed onto a different smartphone – in compliance with a court-imposed sexual harm prevention order.

But when the police officer came out of the station around an hour later with 49-year-old Dale’s ‘safe’ phone, she found him using another phone that he had not informed Thames Valley Police about, Oxford Crown Court heard.

Dale, who was out of prison on licence at the time, was discovered to have downloaded a number of apps onto the new phone – including Chatiw, which he has previously been jailed for using in breach of the court order.

Prosecutor Cathy Olliver said that, when he was found on the phone, he was talking to a number saved as ‘Mommy1010’.

“Mr Dale admitted instantly he got the phone. He said he was not trying to get sexual access to children. This time, he was talking to women online and, indeed, there were explicit sexual pictures of women he was talking to on the phone,” the prosecutor said.

He claimed to have been given the phone by his painter and decorator employer to take pictures of his finished jobs. But Dale failed to mention to his boss that his court order required his internet-enabled devices to be registered with the police.

Dale, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court earlier this month to breach of the sexual harm prevention order.

He was convicted in 2019 and 2020 for sexual communication with children, sending explicit message via chatroom apps. In 2020, when he was also dealt with for breaching his sexual harm prevention order, he received three years’ imprisonment.

Mitigating, Alice Dodd said that prior to his incarceration on remand, her client had lived at home with his elderly parents. Both relied heavily upon him.

She told the judge: “He knows he has let them down and is worried about how they will cope.”

Dale had struggled with the social isolation that came with his status as a convicted sex offender, the court heard. “He’s found it difficult to make friends because of that. He feels the stigma very heavily.”

Sentencing Dale to two years’ imprisonment, Judge Ian Pringle KC noted that he had been ‘very nervous’ when he was caught with the new phone in the police station car park.

“Rightly so,” he added, “because you’d been using on that phone the same online chat applications that you’d been using both in 2017 [convicted in 2019] and in 2020.

“Clearly, the message hadn’t got home to you at all.”

‘Honest’ pervert David Jones candidly admitted to using his internet-enabled television to look at 12-year-old girls online.

The 34-year-old had switched to watching the internet pornography on his ‘Smart TV’ after police confiscated his PlayStation4 last October, Oxford Crown Court heard.

That games console was seized when police made an unannounced visit to his Oxford home – a month after his release from prison on licence – to find him pleasuring himself while watching X-rated material through his PlayStation.

On a repeat visit more than nine months later, on July 10, Jones told officers from Thames Valley Police’s public protection department that he did not have internet devices in his property as he ‘didn’t trust himself’ not to look at indecent images of children.

When detectives asked him about his ‘Smart TV’ he became ‘visibly nervous’, prosecutor Michael Stradling said.

The television had an internet browser installed and, when the officers checked the browser history, found that all entries before the early hours of that morning had been deleted.

The results that remained were all for ‘pornography’ websites and included entries for ‘young models’.

Confronted with the web history, Jones admitted that he had been using the TV to access both adult pornography and illegal indecent images of children since the cops took his PS4 in October 2021. The youngest girl in the illegal images he had looked at ‘appeared to him to be 12-13 years of age’.

Jones, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court last month to breaching his sexual harm prevention order. 

 He had three previous convictions, all for either looking at indecent images of breaching the court order. He had been recalled to prison to serve out the remainder of a jail term originally imposed in 2020.

Mitigating, Emma Hornby said: “At the age of 34, Mr Jones is ashamed of what he’s done and remorseful for his actions, as demonstrated by his admissions and early guilty pleas.”

At the time of the most recent offence he had been isolated and turned to looking at the disgusting images. “He doesn’t want prison to be a revolving door for him. He wants to seek support,” his barrister added.

Judge Nigel Daly blew out his cheeks then shook his head in obvious bewilderment before telling Jones: “You were in front of me in November 2020 when I sentenced you. You have now breached this sexual harm prevention order - again.”

He jailed the defendant for 16 months.

A teacher was filmed performing a sex act whilst on a call to who he thought was a 12-year-old girl - before asking her how she felt about starting year eight.

Paul Corrie, 60, quit his job as headteacher of John Mason School, Oxford, in 2007 to return to the classroom.

He met the 'girl' on website Chat Avenue Teen Chat at the end of the summer holidays last year - not realising it was an undercover police officer.

When he was arrested little more than a week later, he confessed to receiving web links to indecent images of children online.

Corrie later admitted to the probation officer that he had 'felt undervalued, unappreciated and unfulfilled' at his job.

On Monday the Judge imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order on Corrie and sentenced him to a year in prison - meaning he will be a registered sex offender for a decade.

Judge Maria Lamb acknowledged that the jail term would impact his wife and parents, who relied on him for support, but told the defendant: 'I cannot ignore the fact of the seriousness of this type of offending and in my view the only appropriate punishment here can be achieved by a sentence of immediate custody.'

Corrie met his 'victim' on Chat Avenue on August 17 last year.

Under the username 'SportyUKGuy', the dad told the 'girl' he was 36-years-old.

Informed by the police officer operating the decoy account that she was only 12, he replied: 'Nice, what do you look like?'

Their conversation moved to SnapChat, where 'SportyUKGuy's username was later matched to Corrie's mobile phone number.

Over the next week, he sent a number of images of himself in boxer shorts, of his naked genitalia and video-called the 'girl' while performing a sex act on himself.

Amidst other 'sexualised messages', the ex-headteacher asked the 'girl' - 'what school year she's going into and how she feels about going into year eight'.

He was arrested on September 1, immediately taking responsibility for his actions and telling the officers: 'It's true.'

Checks of his phone and computer showed he had six indecent images in the worst category, including one showing the rape of a girl estimated to be aged between two and four.

He had five indecent images and videos in category C.

These types of inappropriate images come under three categories: category A involves penetrative sexual activity, sexual activity with an animal or sadism.

Category B features images involving non-penetrative sexual activity, and category C is indecent images not falling in categories A or B.

Corrie was also found to have searched for key phrases favoured by paedophiles and there was evidence of hyperlinks being saved for favourite websites from 2017.

Corrie pleaded guilty at the magistrates' court to attempted sexual communication with a child, attempting to get a child to look at an image of sexual activity and possession of indecent images of children.

Mitigating, Kellie Enever said her client had no previous convictions, supported his wife and elderly parents, and had lived a 'good life' until that point.

She said since his arrest, he had undergone counselling with specialist charity the Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

A probation report assessed him as a medium risk of causing serious harm to children.

The offending is understood to have been completely unconnected to his work as a teacher.

A spokeswoman for UTC Oxfordshire, where Corrie was working as a maths teacher until his dismissal last September, said: 'Once we became aware of this matter, our safeguarding procedures were followed and we are satisfied that none of the children at the school were at any risk.'

A woman who was repeatedly sexually assaulted by a surveyor said the abuse had made her feel dirty, violated and humiliated.

The victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was subjected to repeated assaults by Raj Garewal, 57, as she slept.

Aylesbury Crown Court, where the Oxford man was jailed on Thursday, heard that the sexual assaults had escalated from touching the slumbering womans private parts as she lay in bed.

A last incident saw Garewal try to place his genitals into the womans mouth as she lay, fully clothed and drunk, on her own bed in November 2019.

Tim Naik, prosecuting, said the woman was pretending to be more drunk than she was in the hope he would give up. The ordeal lasted a couple of minutes.

In a victim personal statement, she said the assaults had left her suffering from severe post-traumatic stress disorder.

The defendant, who carried out the assaults in Buckinghamshire but now lives in Marston Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty at the start of the year to various counts of sexual assault, sexual assault by penetration and causing sexual activity without consent. He had no previous convictions.

His case was first before the crown court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on January 4, when he admitted some of the offences but denied others including rape.

At a time when trials of serious sexual offences can take more than a year to be heard, Garewals case was listed for trial on January 31.

Jane Bickerstaff QC, defending, said: This is a matter that came astonishingly quickly from first appearance to trial because one of your honours fellow judges at this court wanted to put it into a slot that had unexpectedly become available. On the day of his trial, the Crown Prosecution Service accepted his guilty pleas to the lesser charges of sexual assault and causing sexual activity.

Garewal ran his own surveying business. Since entering his pleas in January, the victim was said by Ms Bickerstaff to have contacted his clients to tell them hes a sex offender whos going to prison. One client remained with his firm.

Judge Catherine Tulk jailed him for three years and imposed a 10 year restraining order banning all contact with the victim. He will be on the sex offender register for life.

A SHAMED police constable who resigned days before pleading guilty to owning extreme pornography won a Thames Valley Police award for his community work.

Craig Finch, 38, was described as a reliable, highly respected and an invaluable colleague when he topped the Oxfordshire category in the forces Community Policing Awards in 2020.

The St Aldates police station-based constable was decorated for his work with the citys homeless. He was said to have built up trust with those who feel injustice or have a lack of confidence in the police.

The citation was removed from the force's website following his conviction, a spokesman said.

Finch, from Banbury, appeared before High Wycombe Magistrates Court today, pleading guilty to a single count of possession of extreme pornographic material.

By law, extreme pornography is material that is grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character.

It can include videos or images showing acts that threaten a persons life, depictions of rape, sexual acts that involve serious injury, intercourse with a corpse or sexual activity between a person and animal.

Court documents show Finch had been charged with possession on November 24 last year in Banbury of an SD memory card containing five videos that portrayed in an explicit and realistic way an act which resulted or was likely to result in serious injury to a persons private parts.

Any reasonable person would think that the person in the image was real, the charge added.

The offence with which he has been charged carries a maximum sentence of three years imprisonment. A defendant is only placed on the sex offender register if they receive a jail sentence of more than two years.

Finch will be sentenced on September 19 at High Wycombe Magistrates Court.

Thames Valley Police said the officer had resigned on Wednesday, two days before his court appearance. He had been suspended from duty since November last year.

A misconduct hearing was held behind closed doors on Thursday in front of Chief Constable John Campbell. The chief constable found Finch guilty of gross misconduct and would have fired him had the officer not resigned. He will be placed on the National Police Chief Council's barred list.

Following Finchs conviction at High Wycombe Magistrates Court, Deputy Chief Constable Jason Hogg said: Whenever an officer is accused of breaking the law we will investigate thoroughly and where evidence is found it will be presented it to the Crown Prosecution Service.

It is entirely unacceptable to myself, to the force, as well as to the public for someone who is supposed to uphold the law and protect others, to have committed such an offence and remain an officer.

A sex offender who amassed a sick collection of more than 150,000 images and videos of children wanted to castrate himself, a court heard.

Judge Nigel Daly was told that James Carvell, 56, had collected the images out of an obsessive compulsion rather than out of a sense of sexual gratification and because struggles in childhood had left him with a deep self-loathing.

He was desperate for help but did not know where to start even to the point he wanted to castrate himself, his barrister Preetika Mathur told Oxford Crown Court on Friday afternoon.

In total, more than 156,000 indecent images of children in categories A to C were discovered both on Carvells digital devices and on papers kept beneath his bed.

The twisted collection amassed over 10 years included sick and violent images involving child victims some involving animals.

Photographs discovered beneath his bed depicted children aged between six and 13 and featured elements of sadism, the court was told.

In total, he had 1,057 images in the most serious category, 847 in the next category down and 155,073 images in category C.

Analysis of his devices showed he had searched for the material, using a special internet browser to try and hide his web history. He had bookmarked websites where indecent images could be found and appeared to have downloaded large numbers of files in one go.

Carvell, who was made a sex offender in 2004 when he was jailed for six months for having indecent images, was also in breach of his sex offender notification requirements. He had failed to tell the police he moved in with a new partner at the start of the pandemic.

Jailing him for 28 months, a visibly disgusted Judge Daly told the defendant: The total number, as you have heard, of the different categories are in excess of 150,000. That is a staggering amount and it represents tens of thousands of children being exploited.

Everyone of those images is an image of a child.

It is almost unbelievable that such images in such quantities can exist and yet, no doubt, what we are looking at over all is but a tip of the iceberg.

Carvell, of no fixed address, admitted breach of his sex offender notification requirements and possession of indecent images of children and extreme pornographic material of people having sex with animals.

He was said to be deeply remorseful and had recognised the impact of his offending on children.

Judge Daly imposed a 10 year sexual harm prevention order.

This is the first picture of jailed sex offender Willem van der Werf.

The 56-year-old was jailed for more than 12-and-a-half years on Friday for grooming, sexually assaulting and raping a girl in Banbury last spring.

Sending him to prison, Judge Nigel Daly told the Dutchman: What you have done to her is destroy not only her childhood but possibly the rest of her life. You did it for your own sexual gratification. There is no escaping from that.

Werf, formerly of Calthorpe, Banbury, received 12 years and nine months imprisonment. He must serve an extended four years on licence and will remain on the sex offender register for the rest of his life.

Thames Valley Police has now released Werfs custody shot.

A PEEPING Tom was back breaching a court order limiting his internet use just weeks after he was handed a lifeline by an Oxford judge.

Night prowler Carl Ford, 29, was given the sexual harm prevention order in December last year at Chelmsford Crown Court for 17 charges, including going out at night and secretly filming women through their windows.

In March, an Oxford judge gave the Didcot man just 14 days imprisonment for breaching that order by failing to register a PlayStation video console, a laptop and memory card with the police.

On Wednesday, Ford was back before the same judge who had taken a lenient view in the spring.

Prosecutor Alice Aubrey-Fletcher told the court Ford had deleted a dating app, called Badoo, in breach of his sexual harm prevention order and used his flatmates iPad to watch pornography.

Judge Michael Gledhill QC heard that an investigator from Thames Valley Polices public protection department, which is responsible for monitoring sex offenders, visited Fords flat on May 25.

The defendant was out, but was told about the police visit by his flatmate.

Ms Aubrey-Fletcher said: During the visit, the defendants phone was inspected. On the phone was found a photograph of an adult woman in her underwear. The defendant told the investigator the photograph came from a dating app called Badoo.

That app had been deleted from the phone, however, in breach of the order. Ford claimed he had deleted the dating app to hide it from his ex-partner as he didnt want it to upset her.

He admitted using his flatmates tablet computer, initially claiming he used it to watch Netflix TV shows. However, when he was told the device, which had not been registered with the police, would be analysed by forensic specialists, he confessed to using it to watch pornography online.

The pornography was similar in nature to the voyeuristic images that were behind his original offences, the prosecutor said.

Mitigating, Derek Barry echoed what he said in his clients defence in March. Ford had a terrible childhood, being physically abused at the hands of his father who was described as a high-risk persistent sexual offender well-known to the police.

Ford, of Buckthorn Crescent, Didcot, pleaded guilty to breaching his sexual harm prevention order. He had three previous convictions for breaching the order and was given what the prosecutor termed a lifeline 14 day sentence in March.

On Wednesday, Judge Gledhill jailed him for 28 months.

A paedophiles vast stash of indecent images was discovered when he returned his laptop to a shop in August 2019.

Marian Burlan, 58, had a vile child sex abuse image saved as his screensaver, alerting technicians at eFix Computers that there may be other material on the laptop.

Another engineer checked the deleted images folder and saw a video of a girl he thought was roughly 10-years-old.

Prosecutor Alice Aubrey-Fletcher said Burlans other devices were seized together with notepads that listed websites where indecent images could be found.

Police found evidence the images had been accessed since 2008, although the former merchant sailor had only come to the UK from Romania in 2018 in search of better pay.

In total, he had around 1,100 images and videos in the very worst category, including one that showed the sezual assault of a child estimated to be three to five years old.

There were 46,000 images and videos in category C and 588 in category B.

Ms Aubrey-Fletcher said some of the children were in obvious distress. The youngest children in the images were thought to be aged between two and four.

A further 33,832 image and video files were found on the devices but not categorised by the specialist officers.

Interviewed by the police, Burlan admitted what he had done and said he had looked at sexually-explicit images of adults, children and animals.

Sentencing him at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, Judge Maria Lamb said: The author of this pre-sentence report says that the exploitation and abuse of children undertaken to gratify individuals individuals like you - who are often able to detach themselves from ownership of the criminal actions that are directly carried out against those children is a deeply destructive and utterly callous process. I agree wholeheartedly with what the probation officer says about that.

In fairness to you, it does appear from what was said to the probation officer during the course of your interview with him that you have a realisation of the gravity of your offending.

However, she said she was just persuaded there was a realistic prospect of Burlan being rehabilitated.

Judge Lamb sentenced him to 16 months imprisonment suspended for two years with a requirement he complete up to 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days. He must abide by a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and sign on as a sex offender for a decade. The judge ordered he pay 425 in costs.

His barrister, Gordana Austin, said her client had spent 25 years in the merchant navy before coming to the UK in 2018. He had worked in various porter roles and odd-jobs. He suffered from a number of health issues.

Burlan, of Main Road, Long Hanborough, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to possession of indecent images of children.

Sick predator Robert Moors, 36, attempted to groom girls as young as eight using social media video app TikTok before moving the conversation to Whatsapp where he asked one about her underwear

A creepy predator has been thrown in jail for four years after it emerged he was grooming girls as young as eight via social media app TikTok.

Robert Moors, 36, used the China-owned video app to ask one of his two of his victims what underwear she as wearing.

The 12-year-old admitted that they were Frozen-themed, and the sick man then asked her to perform sexual acts, Oxford Crown Court heard.

And he even dared the girl to tell her brother to expose his genitals for five seconds.

Things took an even more sinister turn when the man, who went under the name Goldeneye0073, moved the conversation to WhatsApp.

A second victim, who was ten when she was contacted on TikTok by Moors, was asked what she was wearing. He suggested she remove her underwear.

The vile messages were discovered when the second girl approached her father 'shaking and crying' and showed him the social media conversation.

Moors was arrested two days later, on December 21 last year, and his mobile phone was seized.

When it was searched by police experts, the phone was found to contain 95 child sex abuse videos in the worst category, which includes depictions of child rape.

There were 75 videos in category B and 65 in category C. The children in the videos were aged between six and 11.

He was interviewed twice and answered no comment to all questions asked.

Jailing him for four years, Judge Michael Gledhill QC said: "You opened TikTok, you browsed through the material that was openly on view and you selected two girls who happened to be eight and 10-years-old.

"You spoke to them directly and you asked them to do sexual things, albeit not the most serious sexual things but we are talking about girls under 10.

"Why were you doing it? For your own sexual gratification.

Gareth James, mitigating, described the case as a troubling one and acknowledged the custody threshold had been passed. His client had no previous convictions and entered his guilty pleas at the first opportunity.

Moors pleaded guilty to inciting a girl under-13 to engage in sexual activity and possession of indecent images of children.

He will be on the sex offender register for life and was made subject to a seven-year sexual harm prevention order designed to limit his unfettered access to children and the internet.
